#18561 - 2:33:00 PM; Day 36 of the European Road Trip, with a trip to Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath planned today. Arrived in Windsor and collected a couple of caches along with a visit to Windsor Castle before continuing on to Stonehenge. Waited for an eternity for the bus to The Stones, but got there eventually. Grabbed a snap or two before heading back to the tour bus for the trip to Bath. Greetings from Australia and TFTV Northern Trekker
It was a beautiful windy day but I am so glad that we got to see Stonehenge on our trip to England!!
Stopped off here on the way to London cos why wouldn't you? a great virtual - TFTVC
As we were passing it seemed rude not to grab another virtual. Deed done and pic uploaded.
Lovely visit to Stonehenge with a friend... we went on to Bath afterwards to visit the Christmas market.
A nice walk down to the stones with the dog, wasn’t allowed to take him in though. Ah well. Thanks for setting this virtual!
Family is visiting London and we took a day trip to Stonehenge. Happy to finally visit this site! I will log Gold Panthers find when we get home. I can’t remember his password . Thanks for the virtual!
Me and my parents saw the rocks today! My photo is in Suckerish (mom’s) post.
First time in Great Britain and this is one of the locations that we visited on our tour. Thanks for the virtual.

A quick road trip from London with a 3 hour detour in the London traffic to get to Abbey Rd and we finally arrive here at 5pm.

G'day from Brisbane Australia! On tour, and the tour bus came here. So I explored a little whilst others had lunch. Well worthwhile - loved the place. Prime photo of me on location.
Thanks Northern Trekker for highlighting this location.

I agree this cache needs to be updated. But you can still get close to the co-ord an get a photo of the henge itself. My pic with my log shows the area looking towards the co ords.

I visited the henge. The area near the co ords is not a car park. The car park is about 2 km away. I have a photo of my gps at the site. I got drenched and frozen today while walking round the stones.
Found whilst staying with relatives. 2nd time visiting Stonehenge. Have taken photo. But I was there with fionat who has provided photo. Will upload when I get back down under... or sooner if I can get the phone on free wifi. TFTC
I loved this cache my group stopped right where i needed to take the photo so that was no problem! Thanks for the cache
Sorry it has taken so long to log. Got back to Australia and e-mailed owner with answer to the question (I forgot to take my cache sheet and took a photo at the posted co-ords). Then had to go to hospital and I've just got out. Still no reply to my original e-mail so I'm assuming my answers are correct.
To the site. Another of those "Bucket List" things that I thought I'd never get to. Was well worth it. spent around 3/4 of an hour just wandering around the site, taking it all in.

Busy going through my GSAK database and updating caches I haven't sent a log for. Have been using GSAK to keep tabs on my finds. Thanks to the cache owners for the caches. Working my way through those caches that require emails with answers.
Oops! Didn't read the description properly and took photo of the actual stones. Hope this photo will suffice.
On route to Bristol to get my drinking boots on with some recently arrive Aussie friends. Have been to and paid to enter the Henge a few years back, so today was only a driveby to grab the cache I was muggley unaware of last time It is an impressive site but a bit expensive at 7.50 pounds to get in and listen to a dodgy audio track. Took the required photo and Thompsontribe saw me at it and we had a brief chat. Always nice to bump into another team in the wild
Cheers from Australia! My second visit here, probably back for a another one in a month with a friend coming to play tourist

Completed this one while on the way down to Somerset. It was a cold and wet day and I was in shorts which attracted a few strange looks from the foreign tourists hanging around the entrance. I've used my iPhone for the shot which is both my GPS and my camera so couldn't get it in the shot. I could have waited for a better day to have done this one but didn't know when I'd be next passing! TFTC!
Kind of anti-climatic posing in front of the rocks, but rules are rules. Will post some more pics soon.
Visited on our way to Portsmouth heading to France. I love Stonehenge and the fact that it's still a mystery today.
It was bitter cold and windy today but we braved the circuit and then a walk down The Avenue. Brrr
Tftc, love finding them just where they should be!

Logged this with my son (we are both in the pic). Thrilled to be here with the four of us. Our son and his wife introduced us to geocaching and they are both here on a holiday with my husband and myself. This is a great location. Thanks for the cache here. and

First place we stopped with my tour group and didn't have this cache in my GPS but remembered what I needed to do from looking at the page before leaving for England. I took the picture but not the best shot.
Well this was a once in a lifetime experience when you are form the other half of the world. I've seen this on TV in books but to see it for real is just tops. I can just imagine the numbers of people around here in peak tourist season.
The are plans to move the roads and the visitor centre away from the site to enhance the experience which includes the burial mounds of the "Beaker people"[^]
This is another of the must do cache locations in UK.

Had an unexpected visit as we were passing by. Very interesting place. How did they do it.
I always enjoy getting these kind of 'iconic tourist site' caches, a place you'd visit any way, but nice to get a find as well and a little bit more proof I've been to these places.
Quite a surreal image just pottering along the A road and suddenly there's Stonehenge - it didn't look real to me, sort of like a movie set.
Anyway, thanks for the virtual and quick response.

Third visit here for Gayle, just had to get Mark here for a look at this brilliant site, and get to claim a smilie as well. TFTC
Never seen Stonehenge so crowded. Dropped in here to show friends the famous rocks. TFTC
A great cache - and a great location. Joined English Heritage here as Overseas Visitors, and that has made a huge difference on our trip. The Audio Guide was also excellent.
Hope you enjoy the pic!

On the way to London via the A303 so decided to bag this virtual at last (must have been past it 100 times before!).
Thanks,

Didn't have all the waypoints this far South in my GPS, but was there on Saturday morning with my friend Graeme and Jenny from Surrey. They pointed out the rocks (its amazing how one is warm and one is cold to the touch)..
Im posting a picture of me in front of the henge as I didn't take one of the rocks, and you can verify its me by looking at other pics.. If you need more photos, I have over 100 taken there..
Thanks for a great virtual cache...

Knew this was a virtual, but had a pda failure and could not remember exactly what we had to photograph. Hope the attached photos are proof enough of visit as we probably won't travel the 10 000 miles to visit again
Like so many others did the tour of this magical place. Was very eerie in a thunderstorm! Had to wat till I got home to OZ to download picture & Log. Will also claim this cache in the 'Coin Quest'game.
TFTC, Cheers.
