i had been here before, but backed out pretty quickly. so today i brought my TOTT along which helped get me halfway. at first my phone was pointing to a good looking spot, but i had checked the hint, which did not fit. even the geosenses were saying there. set up the tott right on top of a nasty ant nest. the hint kept bugging me, and there was 1 close, but no apparent hidey hole, but from another angle, it bacame more apparent. retrieved the Tott, set up again, and eventually made the find. nice urban 2/4. TFTC Fav from me for the adventure.
Back in Newie this morning, this time for eldest novo's safe drivers prac. So I dashed off this time for some pole caching. Did notice this 2/4 nearby so thought I might come over for a look as I was armed with a few TOTTs just incase. Went for a recce first but managed to find it in the first place I looked which I'm not afraid to admit is not often. Was able to grab that ok on this nice dry day without going back to the geocar. What an interesting little abandoned area. TFTC, Samuel737.#2055
I was already tired wet and muddy from some work in the yard so why not try for this cache? The hint, and various advice in the description, were spot on. Easy find govrn all that. Left just before the rain.TFTH in a new (and old) place![darn I think I signed as 18th Ill have to come back after the rains!]
Thanks for a very energetic cache lots of mud very slippery so I decided on the safe previous approach and maybe my way up gradually retrieve case replaced log signed thanks for a great placed cache
The old one nav'd to GZ, the younger climbed the slippery rock face to get CIH. I did the SL & threw it back up. Teamwork. TFTC
Find#2156I came out here a few months ago but it was wet and wasnt keen to fall. Came back today and made a quick climb with some tricky spots. A fabulous cache with log and cache in great condition TFTC
Phew. Made it. First went to the top of the quarry. Figured out where I needed to be and went back down. Then climbed and climbed. Stopped when I ran out of handholds. Could see a crevice further up but no clear way of getting there. Tried a few things and then spotted the cache at the level I was. Phew. Signed and gingerly made my way back down. A fav because of the terror
Thanks to the super efforts of TDino.. found it got it and logged it...well worth the rating....
My first cliff climb for a geocache Thanks to Buz21b for help, and death to the Fire Ant that stung me in the way up. TFTC!
**This Cache:**Not often you get to do a climb like this, only a few steps away from a suburban street! Oh wait, maybe that is just because I live in Canberra.... Very cool and unexpected little location. Thankfully it was bone dry today, so both myself and GHHH took turns at climbing up to the cache. The owner then climbed up at the end to double check it was in it's correct hiding spot! So 3 successful climbers today! Definitely wouldn't want to do this after rain or with incorrect footwear however, don't test your limits and be safe! TFTC Team737---**Today:**Visiting Newcastle this weekend to tackle a wide variety of physically challenging and creatively crafted Team737 hides! Huge thanks Team737 for inviting myself and GHHH and showing us the "ropes", quite literally, of Technical Tree Climbing and Abseiling! One of the best caching weekends I have had and will always be a highlight memory! The expertise and gear you guys have is just incredible and I was so honoured to learn these new skills from you! Appreciate your kindness, patience and company during this adventure packed weekend! Until next time..!
A very nice little climb in a hidden area. Found with friends Loci612 and Samuel. TFTC
I wasn't that confident I'd be able to get to this one, particularly with all the water still around the base of the quarry after the rain earlier in the week. I'd brought some rope with me to use as a handline but, having seen what the climb entailed, I didn't feel overly confident to be doing that by myself. Then I remembered I had my ladder in the car, which I'd used earlier on Pigeon Hole, so I began deploying that. I was able to place it against the base of a substantial tree to prevent its base from sliding out from under me on the steep muddy ground, and tied it off with the rope to trees on both sides for good measure.
With everything set, it turned out to be an easy retrieval, sign and return. Everything is in good condition. Many thanks for this challenging hide.

Out for a day collecting caches in this great area. Took some. Stretching and the use of a TOTt to reach this one
Left the fishing pole home today and decided to go Rock-climbing with Justontime instead. We tried once before in the wet but it was too slippery to get to the last bit.Today was a better results TFTC TEAM737.
Finally got this one this today with shaneo58.It was much dryer today and made the climb easier.TFTC Team737
Today I was out picking up a few select caches and this was the last on my list.
I wasn't too sure what exactly this would involve. I followed a cachers trail to GZ and once there, had a look around. With the help of my torch I spotted the cache.
I decided to attempt it from below and it wasn't too long longest before I had the cache in hand

Hmmmm... Wet and muddy this could make for a daring climb. Good thing I brought the family mountain goat. I made the discovery from ground level and sent the mountain goat in pursuit. Interesting little place tucked in amongst suburbia. FP from me. TFTC

This deserves a FP from me! We came here a week ago and had a look but thought we should come back another day. My sister started off climbing because rock-climbing is her thing but wasn't tall enough to reach it, so my dad wanted me to go up. Honestly, I'm terrible at rock-climbing so I knew there was no way I was going to get it. We got a long, thick stick that I could hold on to on the way. Weirdly, I got up there like a rocket and found it straight away. My sister must have done all the hard work!
Aided by the amazing Sneaky Ninja Girl and Classic Cache, we had another crack at this today. SNG is the rock climber in the crew but at 9 years old, she only made it close enough to ‘touch’ the cache but not enough to remove it and sign. She then struggled to get down, so we found a natural TOTT and gave her something to hang onto on the way down. So brave!
CC who normally is nervous about a climb was a bit inspired by how close her sister got, and the extra reach of an 11 year old was enough. She made the climb in only a few moves but the TOTT was a definite help to give more handholds.
Back on solid ground it was cheers all round. Time for a celebratory coffee! TNLN TFTC
FP for creating yet another means of seeing how awesome my girls are. They are the best!

I really liked this cache because I go rock climbing every week! We came a week ago and had a thought of where it was . With some help from dad the Garbageman and sister Classic Cache we found it ! This deserves a FP from me!
Found this one today after a bit of searching the area to see where would be best to get to it from we attached a rope from the top for a bit extra safety and started from the bottom working our way up, tftf
Had a look at this from both above and below but without a rope we weren’t game to make the climb and we weren’t 100% sure where it was going to be in any case. We ‘think’ we know but will come back with a rope (we were already nearby when when it was published so were somewhat unprepared)

What better way to spend a Sunday arvo than with a 2/4 FTF.
I didn't rush out to this, thinking someone more local would beat me to it, but once I did get here, I was greeted with a fresh logbook. TFTC and another 2/4
