Wanting a find today to fill a tradional statistic gap. This was even possible without really getting wet. TFTC a great location.
Cache was found after a short search. Thanks for the fun. Cleaning up Victoria with gridge98. We are on a mission this week. Completing twenty finds in Mexican local government areas is the challenge. Another find with the correct criteria. It is in Victoria and we have not accumulated twenty finds in this local government area.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is Sol's day the twentieth day of the octavus month of the Roman calendar in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a bit windy today. It was so windy today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. A quick find here today, cache is all goodTravelling around Victoria with Freddo for a week finding caches as we go. With two challenges on our radar we were in full force. All logs signed with our names or F+g98 for the smaller caches. Thanks for the cache
TwoEms left a birthday party on the opposite side of the road, and made a quick stop and find here near the depotwith guests waiting in the carbefore heading back to the party for birthday cake. Thank you for the slice of cache.
Realised this was here after returning to the car after the multi. Oh well, another walk it is. TNLN. TFTC
Needing a walk coupled with a desire to tick off a couple of requirements for a challenge cache I'm working towards saw me travel back up north to collect a handful of caches near Reservoir and then take a walk down to Preston. All caches were found in relatively good order. One could do with a bit of maintenance. Overall an enjoyable walk complemented by finding a number of caches along the way.My logs will include this standard blurb and then a comment or two about each cache separated from this blurb by a dividing line. ---An extremely quick find as I spotted this one on approach.
I found this cache today on my Mega Walk #17 - a 30,000 step walk firstly around Coburg, then from Preston to Reservoir and back to Bell. I hopped a train to here from Regent to add this cache to the list also. Thanks from D B-A
We went on a SideTracked run and it was good to look for these on a weekend. There was plenty of parking available at each stop, in fact here we parked in a totally empty carpark, very close to GZ. Cache was extracted and all is good. Thanks for this SideTracked cache go to RoamingHowie.
It was time for a sidetracked hunt with goinplaces2 and a lot of logs were signed to add to our tally for this series. No problem in finding this one. All good here. TFTC.
Date: February 3, 2024 Time: 5:42 PMFind #14355In the area for secret squirrel businesses and so after decided a few caches were in order. Nice easy one here.Massive thanks go to RoamingHowie for placing this one.
Suscoe was in Melbourne this afternoon and so we decided to find a few caches beofre heading home.A warm afternoon but at least it was dry. We were glad we were here on a Sunday afternoon as quite a few car parks were almost empty which was handy. Thanks to RoamingHowie again for another SideTracked hide.
I needed to go over to Bundoora this afternoon to transact some business... and after I was done, I decided that, as the rain had cleared, I would to continue west to chase down some *SideTracked* caches that I was yet to go after. Wow... really putting Reservoir on the map... two Sidetracked caches for the one station! An easy enough find in quiet location... in the middle of the afternoon... it may not have stayed that way later in the day! Thanks **RoamingHowie** for putting out another SideTracked cache with a difference... and adding to the growing number around Melbourne.
Ended up on the wrong side, up and back and then a short hunt missing the cache on my first passThanks RoamingHowie for SideTracked - Reservoir #2#6067
With the days being longer now I have decided to try and get outside my normal caching radius and go caching in some suburbs I don't routinely cache in. So today I headed up to do some caching in the northern suburbs and after finding the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=24963346-56c5-4daf-8308-a01f60f5a5ba&wid=bab2ae76-92a0-4936-bbe2-3742af77e3a1&ds=2) [SideTracked - Reservoir #1 (GCA6C2M)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA6C2M?luid=f2e7976a-bb02-4b03-9199-d3467c52e65e) multi cache, I figured I may as well attempt to find **#2** as well.Besides this cache also had the **"Dangerous Area"** attribute and I need to find a few more caches with this attribute in order to qualify for [Jamin Appleford's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=8b39e499-2ef1-42f7-8b4e-07e9ed9799b3&wid=1c255109-db1d-4461-a946-19fdb69b868e&ds=2) [WCT Cache at your own risk Challenge (GC9DPHT)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9DPHT).This one was only a short walk away from [#1](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA6C2M?luid=f2e7976a-bb02-4b03-9199-d3467c52e65e), and luckily was a bit more secluded. So I was able to arrive at GZ and make a proper search without feeling like muggles were watching me. Once I arrived at GZ I thought of a few places this one could be hiding, but luckily I stood at the right angle and was able to spot the cache right way.I then quickly signed the log and replaced the cache before any muggles arrived.A big thanks goes to [RoamingHowie](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=24963346-56c5-4daf-8308-a01f60f5a5ba&wid=bab2ae76-92a0-4936-bbe2-3742af77e3a1&ds=2) for the interesting history lesson and for the fun today. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status**The cache container was in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.
This was next on my journey up this way today. Having parked in the main carpark, I took a stroll to GZ and once there, I was soon signing the log at 13:25 from its nice little hide. TNLNSL. Thanks RoamingHowie.
TFTC! 15 October 2023 5:32:55 pm 6220 a bit tired today, so we decided some sidetracks were in order. So we jumped on an off the Mernda line collecting caches. A found it in the first place we initially looked, but not hard enough! Thanks!
Headed out to Reservoir on the train with the intention of completing both SideTracked caches before heading back into the city. In the event time caught up with me and I only managed to complete the traditional, although collected the data for the multi which I completed later.Nicely positioned cache here and worth a fav FTFC RoamingHowie.
Finishing the day with a Sidetracked. Took a bit of a search but got there eventually. Hard to see how I could miss it although I was fixated on a close by spot. Hot and tired and I have a bottle of cold bubbles waiting for me at dinner. Thanks.

I was on my own today, a solitary adventurer following the railway tracks in the northern suburbs of Melbourne as the beginning of spring brought new life to the world around me. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and the trees were beginning to don their vibrant green attire.
The hustle and bustle of passengers and the rhythmic clatter of arriving and departing trains create an atmosphere charged with energy. Visiting a train station is an immersion in the world of travel, a place where the excitement of exploration and the sense of possibility are palpable in the air. Thanks for the cache RoamingHowie.

A nice little cache, amused by how easy it was to spot when I looked in the correct spot!
Picked this one up on via a slight detour on the commute to work. It's definitely a quiet out of the way area. This car park was empty when I arrived at the start of the morning peak.
Scratched around for 10 minutes with geo kids until we saw the hidey hole. Dad head height. No bush bashing required. Tftc
Having not visited the station since being rebuilt was a little unsure of navigating to GZ, but realised it was easy to access & soon had the cache in hand.
Quick find on a chilly night. Didn't realise there was so much overflow back there, useful to know! Tftc!
Once you get your way around the Dyson bus depot fences, a treet to find: David
I was wondering if there was time between trains to make this find; 12 minutes. All good for a wintery weather run. TFTC
Out and about with echidna44 after attending a tree planting morning at. Coburg. Once we had done our bit we starting clearing some out in the area. Another of the side track series under our belt. Nice easy find. Cache in excellent condition. Thanks for the cache RoamingHowie
After two events (breakfast followed by planting) I had a day caching with xambo4u.
Parking right near GZ, we searched a couple of places before discovering the hide. Thanks RoamingHowie.

I had to drop my geoRanger off for service in Bundoora for it's pre-trip pampering prior to our trip north for the winter. So, with plenty of time to kill between drop off and pick up, well, what else could I do , a SideTracked onslaught...
Walked around here from the last cache for a quick find.
There use to be a scout hall just here that I was a member of , 2nd Reservoir Cubs & Scouts & Venturers, wow, that was a long time ago. 2nd Reservoir doesn't seem to exist now
**Thanks for placing this cache RoamingHowie**

Made one loop around GZ and spotted the cache. Not a single muggle around on a Sunday afternoon.

A tricky location to get to now knowing the area, but we just walked around until we found the access and then across to the cache. We despaired at the location with so manyc dead branches and rubbish around, but a methodical search had us with the cache in only a few minutes.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.

Grub62 and I were on our way to an appointment in Reservoir and it looks like we have been sidetracked. Actually we were a little early and we hadn't got this cache yet. Grub62 directed as I drove and we were able to find a park only metres from the cache (and not too far from our appointment too). After a short search the cache was found and signed. All was in good condition. TFTC.
Bunadoorian and I had to come over this way for an appointment this morning and had a bit of time up our sleeves so thought we would try and find this one. Found by Bunadoorian. Thank you for the cache RoamingHowie.
Very interesting walking here and seeing what's down this way. The new station is very impressive and once the landscaping grows the area will be quite attractive. TFTC

Out and about with Rebel Acts today after finishing work early, we continued our obsession to find every available Sidetracked cache in Victoria.
After walking from the nearby station we soon had the cache in hand.
Cheers RoamingHowie for the cache

Around Reservoir today picking up a bed for my son. Thought I can't come down here and not grab a few caches. Love this sidetracked series. A quick find today didn't know this car parking area existed. Good to know for next time. Thanks RoamingHowie.
So nice to have two Side Tracked caches dedicated to the one station. What could be better. I made my way to GZ where I found the little devil in its excellent hiding place.
On my way again after #1, a bit careful here as there was a bit of work going on and a few workmen coming and going, a great find in the end. Thank you again RoamingHowie for another great cache.

SideTracked # 75
A nice quick find in a hidden away spot that I had previously never known about.
Thanks for the cache, the history, and for highlighting an area that I dare say most people don't know even exists.
Added to my list of favorites for all of the above reasons.
In the SideTracked series in Victoria I now have only 4 to find... at this stage.

Getting SideTracked with n0w0rries after a couple of events...
The tricky part of finding this one was picking the right route in.
Who spotted the cache was determined by our approach direction after parking close by. This time, it favoured the driver.
A few snaps of the substation and some of the old pump equipment on the other side of the fence, and it was time to return to the lake for my walk back towards home.
Thanks, RoamingHowie, for highlighting this interesting location. And for the smiley.

Woohoo - a second SideTracked at the same station - a ST (steam) powertrail??
My Cachly arrow was giving me grief and pointing in the opposite direction the entire time. As such I was distracted and jogged down the wrong side of the trainline.
Backtracked and all was good.
Now onto the CITO!

First of the day and the third SideTracked of the week, having already been to Keon Park and here for the multi. Thanks RoamingHowie for highlighting this spot.
Award nomination event day had arrived and I messaged Fleabag to see what he was doing to get here and he said he was leaving early so I headed off by myself and found a few caches on the way.
This was the last one before I headed to the events and today was great since I was the only car in the whole car park so could park right at GZ.
Thanks RoamingHowie for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Having just completed another cache nearby, we decided to take a stroll to this one. Found quickly, signed and returned, trying to conceal it a little better. Thanks for the cache.
After completing #1 I returned to my car and then was distracted by the passing muggles. I tried to approach this cache from the wrong side of the train line and so had a long walk. Perhaps it would have been easier to drive here. After then circling the large structure I looked at my GPS and walked directly to the cache. Perhaps I was getting tired but I wanted to find these newly published caches.
Thank you RoamingHowie for another cache in the SideTracked series.

Had a second go at this after trying to access it from the multi… discovered we were on the wrong side of the railway line!
No problems after correcting our error.
A nice quick and easy find.
We were interested in the Dysons Bus Carpark.
There were more buses that we could not see and more that were presumably out servicing the Sunday timetable.
All up the amount visible to us tallied 55.
Amazing!

Found with OHC, GT37 and crank1 after CITO and 2022 Cache of the Year Award Nominations & BBQ events. RoamingHowie, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
A fun day of caching and events with Geoturtle37, pwala and crank1.
Once we’d signed off on the multi we wandered down to this cache where GT made the quick find.
Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, RoamingHowie

After working all day and then heading to South Morang for tea to catch up with friends I decided to make a detour past Reservoir station to pick this one up and hopefully the next one as well.
I came by tonight as I was not sure if I would have time tomorrow after the events to find a few.
I used to work in the area and I remember how bad this intersection was (spaghetti junction) with the railway crossing as well.
After finding #1 I kept walking to this one.
A very interesting read on the substation and it has probably had all of the old equipment stripped out but it would still be good to have a look inside.
And an other fact I wonder what happened to the Reservoir bus company.
Thanks Roaming Howie TFTC.
