I'm down in Auckland for a geocaching weekend with Yvettetb. She wanted to go geocaching for her birthday and I wanted to get some big numbers to bring my December tally up. Today's plan was to do the walks in Long Bay Regional Park. Of course we grabbed some along the route to get there. I've heard a bit about the Tasmania trip from a couple of friends. Somehow I thought there were more than 11 of you. Another neat hide here G_2. Thanks for your creative genius Smile

The track to this cache took a little bit to find however, find we did after a little bit of scouting around where we thought it should be. Another great cache we found, thanks for bringing us here.I took today off to celebrate my birthday and what better way to celebrate than by going geocaching. What a fantastic summers day for caching in and around Long Bay Regional Park with Lis's Crew.

**19,382**Great to see this improvised cache that traveled so far to our humble shores to lay in wait for the likes of us to find it. TFTC

A bit overgrown but good hide

A trip to Auckland for the weekend to keep the numbers ticking over........What with Luggage catastrophes, and road closures I wondered how it was going to all turn out. Not too bad in the long run. Simple but sophisticated. TFTC

Down in Long Bay with Vistra this afternoon doing a spot of caching plus the ad lab in the area. We had hoped for a dry afternoon, but managed to get caught in a shower or two. Took longer than expected to find this cache, so it was quite satisfying when we eventually spotted the hide. TFTC.

Out with AliGle doing some caching around Long Bay this afternoon. Unfortunately the weather was a bit mixed, so we got quite wet at times. This unusual cache took a little bit of hunting trying to find the right tree, but the hide was obvious once spotted. TFTC!

The ground was rather wet underfoot after months on end of rain but a nice quick find. Not sure if it’s missing it’s lid or if it’s meant to be like that.

Tiptoed down the grassy path & up onto the knoll. Cache quickly found. TFTC Big Grin

After all the rain it was a bit of a muddy walk to GZ. Read the clue and thought it was going to be tricky as there were many possibilities. But there she was. An interesting find and something a bit different. Tftc

Out collecting caches in Long bay this morning trying to find enough to qualify for the wheel of challenges souvenir. As we approached GZ we were not sure how to get to where we needed to be but then we remembered we might of been here before and spotted the small path. No problems finding this recycled cache.

29-Apr-23
What an unusual cache, tftc. Not many people seem to be using this path.

25-Apr-23
Tried to get to this one from the nearby cache but ground was too soggy to get through. Went all the way around to the other entrance and that was much easier. Didn’t take too long to find once at GZ. TFTC Smile

We arranged to meet up with Team Welsh at the parking area near this cache so we could find all the new caches in the area. We were on the recent trip to Tasmania with this CO, and are probably the only NZ finders of the 'Improvised caches' that he placed over there as replacements. We figured we should have no problem finding this one. Well, we were wrong! We searched around every tree until we finally spotted the container. Not sure why the difficulty, but glad to finally sign it off. TFTC.

Had a scheduled power outage at home today so arranged to meet up with KC to find the newish caches around this area. This was the first one on the list and after checking out a few likely spots the cache was found. TFTC

This one seemed to frustrate FMZ and he searched every tree before finally spotting it when we were just about to give up. TYFTC!

03-Apr-23
This took more searching then it should have, but I seemed to look at every other tree first. After confirming with a previous finder what I was looking for, there it was, nice and obvious. Found with Jagersmum. TFTC!!!

?? I was wide awake earlyish, around 7am and the usual thing to do is check the phone for whatever. My oh my.... huuuumh! 3 new caches, all over the shore, well I better get my pants on and some shoes and start wandering over, afterall I have my monthly {FTF} to get and no time like the present, forget the coffee until later, if at all.

?? Well, me and Lostcourse are on a bit of a roll this morning, this is our 2nd {FTF} together and my 3rd. We came up here in our separate vehicles from another of Glyn's caches which we found first. We walked down this old trail, not always that easy to find, but got near to GZ, up the hill we ascended. It was LC who found this, and initially we weren't sure if this was an old archived cache and hadn't been removed, but I soon was on to the idea where it came from and how, and we were no longer perturbed about the names already on the log (without a date).

?? So LC signed us in, and everything is hunky dory. I have to ask G, what the heck is that, that holds the cache?? Did that come thru customs from Tassy? I don't even remember that stuff whatever it is that you found and where you found it. Anyway, thanks for my 3rd cache find this morning and LC's 2nd, we really appreciate your hard work, thanks mate!

Mrs LC asked me to do the grocery shopping this morning so I was out the door relatively early. But before I headed anywhere I checked the app and noted three hides had recently been published. I decided to take the scenic route to the supermarket this morning.

I soon became aware that Gorby was also out and about so I reached out to him and we agreed to team up for the two hides in Long Bay. After having success at "San Fran" we headed over to this GZ. I parked up in a parking bay and met up with Gorbay at the trailhead. We made our way down the track and tried a few spots as we neared GZ.

However, it soon became clear that we needed to leave the track behind and go bush, up the bank, if we hoped to find this one. As an aside T1.5 is a smidgen low all things considered. Once we we were amongst the scrub it was not long before I spotted something out of place. Closer inspection confirmed the find.

The log sheet was presigned but Gorby recognized it as recycled from the Tasmania trip. As such, we signed in as the joint first to finders (FTF) on this hide. Cheers for the cache placement!

Was out caching this afternoon with Jag and Net61....

Great to have about 5 to get in one area !
This was our second one...

Another nice and quick find...did not take long to spot something out of place!

Thanks G-2 for your inventive camo part of which came from over the ditch!

The geohound still wanted to walk a bit further, so we came this way around so he could harass some pukeko (just joking).
It's only 9.15am and we are not the first to get here. At least that leaves plenty time for another coffee.

Out for a caching afternoon with Supernannny and Net. The other ladies had been to Tasmania with the CO, but were still unsure what sort of Tasmanian devil would be hiding here.
MrsJAG was first at gz and quickly spotted something out of place. On closer inspection we found it was the recycled cache we were looking for. TFTC
