A quick check in between showers to fix up the sign and Podgess bank is open for business
Just enough time to scoot over to this one too before the evvent. Another AL that had been completed previously. No idea why I did not do the bonus then, likely I was travelling in the wrong direction that day. Nicley done and another favourite point for this one.
out with fasted working on a challenge and realise we have the finals for this oneoh i am so glad we took a detourthat was so much funfound the sign on the ground and as i headed over to see what it was i realised it had fallen from the awesome cachei have placed the sign in the box as it would not re-attach to the outside took goldleft green ribbon
Had the final co-ords for a while now, but never got to this area until today. Chasing a multi cache close by, it would have been just wrong not to add this one to our list. So glad we did.Arrive at GZ and think that was simple enough. How wrong we were. Two of us searching made it easier and we soon had what we needed.Log signed. Fantastic cache.Scores a favourite from me. TFTH
Great fun! Having completed the ad lab yesterday we were keen to visit the Bank of Porridge at our first chance and that was today. Had no trouble finding the key or spotting the vault. In no time we were in amongst the bullion. Wrote on some money (we love the logbook) before locking it all up and replacing the key. Picked up the TB. thats been here since February. Thanks very much Porridge19 for creating this beaut cache..
In the area and visiting a bank is a bit of a novelty now-a-days. Sharkvan found the banks door at the same time I called out Ive got the key. Added an entry to the ledger, returned the key and lodged a smile firmly on the dial. Thanks. A fave.
A pleasant walk along the track and then into the bush where we found what was needed to access the cache . What a super cache at that. TFTC
This was my last cache for today before I go and watch a movie. I quickly found the TOTT I needed, but where was the cache around and around I go. Finally found a very nice cache. Porridge19 thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for enjoyment of the caching community.
Great stuff. I have had possession of the final coordinates of this cache for quite some time. Today i had leap day off work and was ticking off a few caches in the area. I made my way along the path and deviated about 30m from the cache. I found the first item no problem, and it didn't take me long to find the second. What a great cache. I was describing it to the kids this evening, so you know it has to be good. All good here with the log and cache container. Thanks very much Porridge19 for creating this fabulous cache. This is a new favourite of mine. Cheers
Porridge19 I found your cache Porridge's Banks of Brisbane - Ad lab bonus on 27/2/2024, 3:35pm. This is my find 6418 and find # 6 today. A favourite from me for the work that was done. Found the first part then it wasnt long before I found the cache. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Rolling back past this cache I found my way to the right side of the creek, or is that the bright side of the creek. However, as with another nearby bonus cache i could not locate the ALK itself , again forensic examination determined that I had actually completed the AL. In this instance I had NOT actually been to the cache site. It all makes sense now with the placement in the Reserve Bank being secured. Hopefully the cache will remain secured as I stumbled upon the local kids drinking spot further down the hill. I found the device first and then had to search to find the cache.
Early start this morning to attend the event with the tardy mice. Now for some caching. This was our first cache and a good one too. Amazingly I picked up on the GZ by seeing the unusual base.TFTCache Porridge19
Semi retirement now allows me to do early morning Event through the week so today's super early start took me to Tardy Mouse Coffee with Hatzofff and RoddyC. Event over and off to cache on the Northside of Brisbane since we don't come here often. This didn't take too long to find GZ but no log so looked around until we across something suspicious, the cache in hand and we we signing the log before replacing as found. This deserves a FP, loved it. TFTC
We had an early mousy coffee event over northside, so an opportunity to organise some unfound caches.Fabulous idea and cache. A definite FAV.Log signed and cache replaced as found at 8:52 AM on December 14, 2023. TFTC, Porridge19
After struggling with some of the AL waypoints, I finally achieved the finals a little while ago but waited for some holidays to visit the GZ.Ive been to this place many times and have found all the caches around here so I understand the entry points perfectly well; however, for some crazy reason I let my Waze app drive me to the nearest point on the road.As will be readily apparent, a direct approach to GZ from the nearest road is not really possible so I wandered around a long way and then commenced a direct approach which was again really silly because in todays 35deg heat, I was in shorts and open sandals and attempting to bash my way through long grass and spiky vines. Birds and little animals frequently started running or flew out right next to me which scared me repeatedly. At last, I arrived at GZ by the most ridiculous means possible and achieved the first step. Now for the second, just 20 paces awayAfter ten minutes of searching, I was getting cranky. After 15 or 20, I was becoming hysterical. Inexplicably I felt I had searched everywhere within a 40m2 grid and found several suspicious items but no obvious cache. (See pics). At long last, I followed what must have been the only possible direction of the 360 left to follow and of course the final cache is very hard to miss if you head the right way. Gosh. Maybe its because it was midday and I was wearing dark sunglasses, hot and thirsty, bleeding and annoyed, but how I kept missing this one, I just dont know.So TFTC in the end youve done a great job. I took a slightly more sensible way out and lived to tell the tale.
I enjoyed this AL, which I did over a few days of caching in the city. It made me realise how few original buildings there are left in the CBD now.Today I was nearby the bonus cache and in fact started my day with this great find. Very impressive construction and far more substantial assets than many banks which exist today. Well done Porridge! I havent given a FP for ages but this one definitely deserves it!
I do love it when everything comes together. Very clever. An enjoyable adventure today and a fun creative hide. TFTC
Accio 13:08:10Day one of my holidays ... and I am out here urban caching! Having solved the AL ages ago this has been on my map ever since - made the effort today ... and wow not just me made a real effort here. FP for the container. I found part two before part one which had confused me a moment but then it all made sense and I sorted out the sorting out and ... lovely work! Thanks Porridge19 for entertaining me at this location. *{Overall find #11599}*
We went finally to get the Bonus cache of this Porridge Bank AL. We were surprised when we noticed that the Bonus is quite a bit away from the CBD, but now it made sense! It was our first visit to this area, and we enjoyed it by collecting some more smilies! We searched for a while, weren't even sure what the hint might mean, but got there in the end. I can give only one fav point, which is for the final place, the hide and the awesome container. A surprising end of an interesting AL.Tftc Porridge19
We had completed the AdLab earlier in the month but hadnt managed to get to this bonus yet. Needing a break from work, we decided a quick little hike would be a perfect reset so headed over here. It was only a short walk to find the access method, then we looked around, scratching our heads as we sought out the cache. Checking the hint, we realised we needed to look further afield. We decided to start our hunt in one direction, and luckily picked the correct one, as the magnificent cache was soon spotted. We opened it, signed the ledger, locked it all up safe and sound, before replacing the tool. Our heads werent quite clear enough so we continued our hike along the tracks in a large circuit back to our car. Thanks Porridge19
Having completed the AL a couple of weeks ago I was keen to make a visit here todayI crunched my way to GZ and then had a what the? moment I spent what felt a long time looking for the final container but upon seeing it all my frustrations disappearedA very nicely crafted containerThanks Porridge19
Back into work full time again and the catchup process begins. I am still managing to get a cache a day and continuing to stick with my own personal challenge. Today I finished work in enough time to venture over to Newmarket way to collect a cache that I had had sitting around for a while. What a fun find, I walked the trail and then into the bush. Oh there is one more step. I walked around and found the prize. I opened it up to find a treasure trove of pieces. I signed the log and replaced that one and began my search of the other boxes. I replaced all as found and returned the object back to the first hide. This cache gets a favourite point from me, very nicely done, thank you.
I did the AL a couple of weeks ago. Wanting to continue my caching streak and find a large cache for a challenge, I decided to come here after my dental appointment in Paddington. I was going to come in from one side for a slightly longer walk but the street was closed due to work, so I drove around to the other side.
I walked to gz and when I saw the container, I thought this isn’t very large but soon found the proper, very well made cache. Love it so a fp. Tftc

Completed the lab this arvo. Being a Sunday afternoon, it was still hard to do the lab. Possibly due to the fact that my driver has a fear of parking.
With all the banks visited it was off the Bush for the final.
A good concept, well worthy of a fav point
Than you for this cache

After seeing what the big banks have done in the city with branch closures, mergers, amalgamations it was delightful to see the opening of this new suburban branch Today I called in and made a deposit of some pathtags

We are now heading north to avoid the coldest of the winter weather in Victoria. Loving our time around Brisbane and around the area. Today we had the opportunity to grab just a few while running chores.
Stopped off here and wasn't sure, why it wasn't closer to Ad Labs but then spotted the relivant name for the reserve. Found the container before having to back track for the opening tool. Loved the whole experience, so given a fav.
Thanks Porridge19 for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Apologies for the late log here (10.01.24) but I've had a busy time since getting back to the UK.A little further from town than expected, but given the final... well, it's understandable. Very neat. FP+1 for making me laugh. I enjoyed the walk among the leaves too.TNLN-TFTC!SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.
We enjoyed the AdLab part of this learning about the history of banks while in the city last week.
Once at home we worked out with the info gained along the way where this bonus cache was hidden. Today we were passing by the location so called in to find the cache. It was an enjoyable walk to GZ where we found this fantastic cache. Well done Porridge19 on the effort put into it. It receives a Favorite point from us.

Completed the AL a few weeks back. Today took the geodog for a walk to make the find. The first part completed and as per the clue, I went this way, that way, over there and then I found the cache over here. Found the vault, no withdrawal, but deposited my signature onto the ledger. Tftc
Out and about this afternoon to pick up a few north side caches on a beautiful sunny winters day in south east Queensland.
Found a safe place to park the car and made my way to ground zero to locate the cache. Didn’t take long before the cache was in hand and pen applied to the log. Returned the cache to its hiding place and trudged back to the car
A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.
Cheers

I finished the AL a couple of weeks ago and had this one up my sleeve for a rainy day. It's not quite raining, but was nice and close to home which made for an easy mid-afternoon dash. Found the first part, then wandered around until I spotted the second part. A very well-themed cache, giving this one a fav point. Thanks Porridge19.
After attending the Maker Magic event nearby it was a quick stop here to collect the bonus for the AL completed a while ago. What a pleasant surprise. I loved it so a fav point. TFTC
Having completed the AdLab a couple of weeks ago, I quickly solved the field puzzle. Thanks for the cache
T-Tech and I enjoyed the walk through town this afternoon to gather the AL, although some of the WPs were in odd spots, and I had to Google one answer as we couldn't find the info. We took the easiest walk in to GZ as his foot was playing up a bit. We found the vault first and had to go looking for the key! The contents of the vault were very entertaining. TFTC, Porridge19.
Out with IolantheK for a bit of wander around the CBD doing the associated AL, then with the co-ords sorted it was off to find its bonus [^]
Great, well themed container [^]
TFTC Porridge19 a fav point from me

On a Mother's day visit to the family in Brisbane so Davidwazza and I took Ruby for a walk when a notification of a new cache came through. What a wonderful find - with the key vital to find the gold. TFTC. I believe we are the FTF.
*FTF* First to Find joint with Bermudagold.
This was a case of good timing with its publish whilst I was finishing off business in town. There is general talk to not add any more Adventure Labs (ALs) to town given the density of those, but I’m of the opinion that it is probably ok to add a few more given the rise of so many ALs in suburbia. I really enjoyed this AL acknowledging the historical banks and treasury locations of the old (and new) settlement. I’m hoping that my AL Locations were captured as I was playing off the private version (since I couldn’t see the public version of the AL on the map), so hoping my visits get saved.
It was then time to take a bicycle ride to GZ, and luckily it wasn’t too far from home, that I didn’t need to take too much of a detour, prior to a planned Mother’s Day afternoon tea. I managed to get rope in a family member to take a walk with me, and when we arrived at GZ, it was Bermudagold who found the first clue. We then appreciated the meaning of the hint, and continued our hunt to then find the appreciable geocache find. An awesome cache effort with nicely themed contents! As to be expected by its first formal visitors, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks porridge19 for the cache placement and maintenance. Favourite Point!
