Didn't really appreciate how stupidly hot it was going to get so quickly today. Either way, this was the first of the caches for the day, and I was surprised how high up it actually was. Well hidden, cool tree!TFTC Green Gecko family
After a very enjoyable, but exhausting , nine days of GCLogan events, I had 2 full days left before flying back to NZ. To maximise the value of these 2 days, a plan was hatched with GG1 and M65 to target some special caches on the Northside that would help me with possibly two further D/T loop completions. Their help was invaluable, with local knowledge ensuring the best route was taken to fit in as many high quality caches as possible today. A little glitch with my phone and daylight saving meant we actually started the day extra early, which may have been a good thing, as we didn't stop till 8:30 pm.With my hosts well prepared for any tott we might need today, it was not too much trouble, even for an old guy, to access this one and sign the log. A FP here, for the adventure of getting this cache in the dark. TFTC
Back to attempt this cache again with backup! I really hurt my arm last time I attempted this and was left hanging over a branch until I was able to pull myself together to get back down... No such trouble this time. TFTC!
Found with Dora the Explorer. After reading previous logs, we thought that this cache could be a challenging however when it was spotted, we both decided that we could achieve this climb which we did. It started to rain as I was climbing and was concerned that the tree could become slippery however there were no issues.TFTC.
This was a very fun find log and place back. Couldn't see it from the ground so I just started climbing. My over 50 year old body enjoyed this. I had so much fun that I didn't want CDAH55 to miss out, so CDAH55 did the climb with his 67 year old body also. I had to give him some coaching to tell him where to put his various body parts. We both felt a sense of achievement after accomplishing this climb where others have failed.
We came. We saw, but could not retrieve. Madrabbitoh tried her best, but was beaten about 3/4 of the way there. Not much room up there to manouver.
After a fair bit of planning yesterday I had an objective of completing the 25 different DT challenge in the Tinchi Tamba wetlands.I marked out my route which was probably going to make me more of a Leyland brother than Id ever hoped to be but I thought I could squeeze it in.Unfortunately at the second of my planned caches for the day I pulled out to take off and collected a concrete block that wasnt in view. Bang, front skirt scratched and big puncture in the side wall of my tyre. There goes the time I needed to reach the goal.Any way I stayed the course and gave it a shot and came up short by about 5 caches. Dan that punctured tyre.Anyone this cache was found safe and well. A signature was applied to the log and returned safely to its hiding place.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this ache available to be found bet fellow cachers.Cheers
Out and about caching with go-friends on the Northside of Brisbane as we need a lot more Smilies here.Eventually spotted it and RoddyC offered to do the climb, Snickersallan and grannysmith1947 were already up the tree but weren't having and success. At last RoddyC had the cache in hand and we were all adding our signatures to the log.Cache replaced as found. Great hide. TFTC
Caching today on the area that needs me to have more smiles.

There were three vehicles in our convey, but we made good use of the large green space close to the busy road and GZ for parking.
With three searching from the ground level and gs1947 and myself up the different sides of the tree, we were coming up empty-handed.
After reading previous logs, we realised the cache must be much further up than where we were all expecting it to be and were focussing on.
Okay, get those neck muscles working again, and the sky is the limit! Wow, could that be it, oh yes, and now to draw straws on who wants to climb up that far. No problem here with a quick volunteer by the only male in our team, and I might add the tallest, which makes all the difference when reaching out to open the container.
Thank you, THE GREEN GECKOS, for placing this cache for our benefit and enjoyment
A favourite point for the illusive hide and for the nice camo container.

After a few hours ‘yakking on the Pine it was time to head back to Bob Bell Park to retrieve my car. While on the way Chamad asked if I was keen to grab this cache, I took one look at it and said sure, it’s a good DT.
We parked right on top of GZ, hopped out the car and I glanced to the sky to see if I could spot anything and sure enough, I couldn’t. Chamad had already found it and pointed it out, nope! I still can’t see it. I proceeded to climb anyway and he pointed to it again, ahhha! Now I see it, but that’s a bloody long way up and possibly at my limit. Luckily the climb was easier than I was expecting and I was up there within seconds and added our name to the log.
Thanks for bringing me here.

Despite reading that there was parking nearby to GZ, I was driving from the west, and hence I knew that that section would be elevated and likely not have the same parking opportunities as a east-to-west driving direction. So having just visited Pine Rivers Park for a nearby geocache, I thought I'd leave my vehicle there and take a jog to this location.
An initial glance upwards from the ground, and no cache was spotted. I decided to proceed upwards in a direction where I would place a cache, and about halfway up, I saw a glimpse of the container. A fun tree climb, and although it was high up towards the top of the tree, its overall elevation didn’t concern me or incite any fear (like other hectic high tree climbs requiring a risky step). The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks THE GREEN GECKOS for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
----------
This early morning, I had my kayak loaded on the vehicle, and subsequently I took a trip to Strathpine and paddled South Pine River chasing a newly published geocache. Cool weather conditions were welcome, and just trying to get a fitness session prior to the rain forecast across the next few days. I then conducted a couple of tree fishing and climbing caches before repeating the kayak preparation and paddle session from Dohles Rocks boat ramp. I had time to detour pass a couple of Bracken Ridge tree fishing geocaches prior to work.

After attending the magic maker event the night before with Dixie___gooner, he’d made plans for the Friday for an adventure of caching with two very welcoming guys in chamad and karicka!
The following morning we were on the road, chatting about what we’d like to get out of the day when with a swift turn of the wheel we’d pulled in by the side of the road.
‘There’s one up there’.
A quick climb by dixie___gooner later and our newly formed team had their first cache of the day. It also made us acutely aware that for the sake of brevity we ought to come up with a team name. Well at least we had the drive to the next cache to figure that out…

I attended the Logan Geocaching event last night and met Chamade and Karicka. A plan was hatched for a day of caching today, which was a bit of a magical mystery tour.
Our first stop was here. Chamade had previously found this, so it was left to us three. Fortunately we spotted the cache pretty quickly as we discussed a possible team name

This was our last stop of a fabulous afternoon caching with the CO. Junior DisSister, who always likes a tree climb, made his way up to start the search from that elevation whilst we stood at the base craning our necks. One of our caching companions, who had previously found it, took pity on us and gave us guidance after a short search. JD ascended the extra distance required before signing the log for us. Thanks THE GREEN GECKOS
A young chap had made the climb before I could even get out of the car. We slightly directed on the ground. At this point I was slightly hangry (hungry angry) so glad it was a group find.
We discussed flood issues at the cache location but this wee one is a neat and high hide.
I learnt a new word. A fave point for an ever growing dictionary.

I had to drop 1GiantPanda off at work first up this morning. But then I was free to play.
Of course Fangsoki and Pprime did not have such restrictions, so they were already out and about playing. I caught up with them as quickly as possible for today’s frivolities.
I pulled over right near this one only a few weeks ago after 1GiantPanda accidentally let a very important piece of paper fly out of the window, so we had to stop and begin a retrieval mission.
Today we headed up thinking this isn’t too bad a tree. But then one of us saw the cache and headed that bit higher to make the grab.
Thanks for the cache THE GREEN GECKOS.

A nice morning out caching with Master Fang and Miss MinnieMoo - an easy tree to climb I feels, although I am old and stupid perhaps.

Bit too high for my comfort zone today, almost a bug climb. Maybe another time
The dendrite was prolific, and the choices many!
Happy to not be a lung surgeon here, as I may have targeted the wrong part of the lung! but, that tree certainly had many choices.
In the end, sitting up high on one branch, we could see it on another branch, so it was down again and then up again to make our way to the container.
In the late afternoon, under a grey sky, everything seemed to be silhouetted and black against grey. It made spotting this one quite challenging.
The climb was fun, and our name is in the log book.
Thanks The Green Geckos. A lovely adventure!

Out for two hours this afternoon with T-Tech for two tree fishes and a tree climb.
Both of us went up for this one, and as usual T-Tech was the more adventurous, but even though I was lower I was at the right angle to spy the container. It was still a couple of metres above T-Tech's head! It's a great tree for climbing. TFTC, THE GREEN GECKOS.

Found with wags after afternoon paddling the south pine.
He went up one branch and I another.
He was on the right branch and I happened to have the better headlamp to ease his adventure.
This was our last cache for the evening before getting a pub meal.
Cheers

A later afternoon paddle with the Bug and then some night caching which included this tree climb. Head torches on with the Bug going up one option and me another. I then I spotted it further up only for my head torch to give out but had enough spill light forms Bugs to continue the climb and make the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Got a call from Swearah and Brislions this arvo to head down to climb a tree. We spotted the cache high above us and it was soon retrieved, signed and returned. A great climb and a fun arvo had by all. TFTC
Popped down to have a look at this one with Brislions and TeamLambo after work.
When I say look, I mean look. I am not the nimble tree climber and being peak hour, it would take too long for an ambulance to pick me up if I fell out!
Lucky the blokes are nice enough to still include me. They both had a crack at the climb while I supervised. A tough one to spot - nice hide.
Thanks for the cache, THE GREEN GECKOS ??

Peppa thought he spotted a tether and sent Davinells up the tree but the cache was much higher. I just loitered on a lower branch. Thanks for the fun THE GREEN GECKOS
We had no trouble picking the tree… the cache though was elusive… it has been a big day and it’s starting to get dark… that’s my excuse for claiming to have seen the tether… that wasn’t a tether, but I was in the right general area…
Davinells took care of the container… Beardman75 just looked pretty in the tree…
Thanks THE GREEN GECKOS ??

After a great day with karicka, Peppa and Beardman75 on and around Bribie Island we headed here to grab a few more caches while there’s still daylight.
Peppa thought he spotted the tether but then Beardman75 really spotted the cache. At least they were in the same area of the tree. A decent climb up but was glad to have plenty to hold on to.

Joint FTF with Charmad
We were relaxing and preparing for our yak outing on the morrow. When a text come through to ?????? from Brislions in relation to a locally published cache. Not having been to the GZ on placement I thought I had an opportunity to acquire a FTF. …
????if only I can beat Charmad to the prize.????
The trip to the GZ was conditional on there being a distinct lack of assistance from the CO for me to claim a first to find. Full of urgency now, I said “sure”. So off we went for an evening drive.
As we were arriving to the posted coordinates we noticed a familiar vehicle ??.
Guess who we found climbing over not just any tree…. The wrong tree!! After a quick check on the gps we all moved to the next tree along which apparently gave us a 1m proximity warning as we approached.????
Both Charmad & I climbed into this better located tree and started looking and looking ….. and looking until I saw what I thought might be our quarry. I said to Charmad, “I think it’s , they’re just above your head.” And so he looked up & spied it. Ascending a little further he was able to put our names in it.
All the while ?????? was biting her tongue and keeping her promise to be of NO HELP what so ever!!!

*FTF* Joint with muggles65
Sitting at home listening to the football while trying to catch up on some logging, when the sound of new caches comes ringing out. Oh, wow, that looks exciting, and then I had to decide should I go or should I stay. Nah it cannot be that hard, go, and so I did. I arrived at GZ and started a look around hmmm maybe I need to get up hirer, so I did. Still nothing then another car pulls up.
“Hey Mick, what’s your gps say?” I then got down and saw that muggles was in a different tree and said he had a better lock here. We took a half each and started a search. We both went up and up and up. Then muggles says there it is above your head, “really I can’t see it”. It was within arms reach and I could not see it, this thing just blends in so well, very difficult to find.
I got the log out and signed the *FTF* for both of us. It was a nice night to go for a climb and a very nice time was had by all. Thank you TGG for the hide and the fun at this placement. I do think it may be a little under rated in the difficulty and terrain rating. When you compare this to Can O’ Pea which is a 4/5 and a lot easier to walk around, this maybe a little under cooked. However, it was a nice climb and I am sure a lot more will enjoy this one, if they can find the cache, lol. a favourite point from me.
