Logs
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 159 - Logan to Warwick. It was time to move on, even if nearly everyone else was going the other direction. The road from Ipswich to Wawrick over the Mount Mitchell Pass was a constant stream of traffic, making stoping and turning quite difficult. However, amongst the traffic I managed to stop for several roadside or near road side caches. It was a short day, but that gave me time in Warwick to do some of the Labs there and a cache or two as well before cooking dinner and spending my last night on this trip in Queensland. This was nice pullover spot. The cache was found after greeting a dog having a short break. Thanks for the cache Dunmowin49567.7 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2015 Mystery Skull A#320**Albida**
Camping nearby for the long weekend. We stopped for a quick break for the dogs. Quickly found, signed and replaced. TFTC. Found with muggle husband. #1651
Found with stairman1. Heading home from Giraween. The water tank is over flowing. All good here. TFTC
TFTC! As soon as I was at ground zero and was at one spot, I spied something that didnt look like it belonged. Turned out to be on the money. Log was in hand and signed rather quickly. Thanks for bringing us back to this park, where one used to be hidden ages ago. Its nice to get out to the Freestone area again. I should ride out this way again too.
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Staying in Toowoomba while the caravan is in for repairs in Burpengary. Today we headed south for a visit to Team Robins. A pleasant drive in the countryside stopping for a cache or 2 along the way. TFTC Pokers
Out with Geo-Cus (Ms Three Legs) from Melbourne, showing them some of the murals and sculptures around the country side. This was one. Cache still in good order.
Took thinking outside the box but got it. It's definitely not the normal way to open one of these, but nicely done found on the way to an event in Stanthorpe today. Signed as SFC. TFTC.
Saw this container almost immediately as I approached, but when I grabbed it, it didn't open how I thought it would, so I thought well that's not it. Took a few more laps of the area and decided that I had the container right the first time. Took me a few more minutes to work out how to open the cache. :face palm emoji:Thanks for the cache Dunmowin, a favourite point from me.
On our way back to Brisbane from Warwick we stopped and found a few cache hides off the highway, this being one.An excellent sneaky find. TFTC
Out and about today to find a few caches. A quick find here today for me. I have found a few caches here over the years I like this one the most. Thanks for the cache.
My kids were into Punch Buggy when they saw a VW Beetle! We are going home the back way just so I could stop here! TFTC!!
Found - TFTC, 2nd time I have a smiley face here, the first one must have been disabled - was on the wind pump.
Stopped and looked around the obvious gz. Did a lap or two before something caught my eye. Bingo. Great hide. Fav point coming your way. TFTC
After spending a few days in Warwick, it was time to go home to Brisbane. Arrived at GZ and found cache. Signed the log and placed back where found. TFTC
After a few hot days in Warwick it was time to head back to the coast and maybe cooler temps but still had a few to search for before leaving town as well as a few o the way.Lost count of the times I have stopped here searching for caches??? Lucky to find this newer one after a short search.
Friend needed a lift out this way, so I checked the map.
Discussed a plan with my geodog Scruffy and she decided we had time to make a slight detour.
Well it looked good on paper, just didn't realize the amount of road works being done, but hey, it's a cache that needs finding, what's a bit of road works.
All Good .. TFTC ..

We were on our home bound journey after a weekend of adventure hiking Mt Steamer, and happened to be passing this cache.
Well there’s always time for just one more cache, right? So a quick dash across into this picnic area was required.
As we pulled in, Fangsoki and Crew153 both had recollections of finding a cache here before.
We headed towards the likely hide object and all of a sudden I spied something shiny. That has to be it!!
So over I went and was soon removing the lid from the fitting container and retrieving the logbook.
Then we took a moment to appreciate the unusual sculpture nearby.
Thanks for the cache Dunmowin.

Heading home from Broangus on board with 1MinniMoo and we stopped for the caches along Emu Creek Rd.
As well stopped for this one we all remembered that we had been here for a previous cache. In my cache it was my 3rd time as my first was a DNF on the previous cache.
This time it was a simple find and !1MinniMoo retrieved the log.

Crew 153, 1MinnieMoo, and I pulled up for this one next. Our last one for the trip.
Now here's a familiar - yet very changed little park! We pulled up at the abandoned area and 1MinnieMoo soon found the good. It was great to visit this park again. TFTC Dunmowin

A nice rest stop and park that certainly deserved a cache placement. I took a look around GZ, and it wasn't long before discovering the cleverly camouflaged cache - it was just a little different from its surrounds. A different type that I was impressed with, and it will certainly be safe from getting muggled. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, and I even needed to grab a TOTT to assist with logbook extraction. Thanks Pokers aka Dunmowin for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. Favourite Point awarded.

Today, my primary plan was hiking Wilsons Peak as part of the [Willy's Peakers](https://coord.info/GCAC7JQ) event. Subsequently, it was an early morning drive south towards the Qld-NSW border via Ipswich parkrun and Boonah. Following the mountain hike, I then used my afternoon to drive through Killarney and the smaller towns east of Warwick, like Tannymorel, Junabee, and Freestone, before then returning home via Cunningham’s Gap, Warrill View, and Walloon. Locations from the [Join Muriel on a trip around the Southern Downs](https://adventurelab.page.link/oPPR) Adventure Lab were also visited, with those relevant murals being a highlight.

Following successful event in Warwick today, came home this way, to find Dunmowin's recent addition to my windmills theme. Well done, and TFTC
Thanks Dunmowin. There use to be one here which I believe was called Free Stone or something similar. It was a little micro hidden on the end of a rod on the previous windmill. I believe it had a lot of favourite hearts so I am giving you one for putting one back here.
Previously there was a 4 sided windmill here and another tank.
Thanks again

Blkthunder and I planned to spend the day together… That day started wth a trip to Lowood to see our youngest Stumpy Tailed Cattle Dog take out Best of Breed…
We then set off for a “country drive” for a couple of hours which included this final find as we made our way back to the Cunningham Highway…
BlkThunder spotted the cache, and after making our mark I felt compelled to check out the “unusual sculpture” across the grass…
Thanks Dunmowin
