Logs
Came to scout it out. Sure is high up, even with a very long stick I found nearby wasnt enough. Will have to return some day with the necessary TOTT
Coordinates changed from:S 41 28.267 E 147 7.059Coordinates changed to:S 41 28.265 E 147 7.068Distance from original: 42.8 feet or 13.1 meters.We found a new monkey and also a new tree for him to live in
Came to do some maintenance this morning but only the inner container was there. The monkey has gone walkabout so we couldn't replace it properly! Will see if we can find another monkey otherwise it might have to go. Those winds were certainly destructive!
Today we are chasing numbers as I have a personal quest to attempt to complete by the end of November. So we headed into Launceston from Bishopsbourne to find 12 caches. We only had 1 dnf which was great and all the caches we found were in good order. The big storms in September have wiped out your tree here. We read that the last finder had found on the ground and placed in the fork of the tree. We clambered over the fallen tree and located the hide on the ground near the fork. Its back there now hidden by a rock. Needs owner maintenance, see photos. TFTC
Tftc, unfortunately the cache container looks to have fallen off its monkey friend and was hence found on the ground. Left the container in the fork of the tree
Today we further explored our back yard and finding caches along the way, and this was one of them.We concentrated on finding the caches that has been published since our last visit. Yep up there, all good at GZ but we could see that some monkey business has been going on here!!We found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty. Many thanks to the CO for your cache placement.
TFTC. Today dumps and I returned with our TOTTs and downloaded this monkey signed and returned to its home. We had to earn this smiley.Did this one during early afternoon as we knew it would be a quiet time with no Muggles around that this proves correct.
Having visited before we knew we had to get the right TOTT. Got talking to the Hancock Clan after they had found one of our caches, and they offered to meet us on site with their TOTT. So I finished up work and rushed home to pickup minisqwash and get to GZ. We thought the cache was somewhere else last time we were here actually but quickly had that monkey in hand for the business end of signing this log and getting that smiley face. Thanks to Hancock Clan and cachingfairy for meeting us here. Favourite point from us
geoMum sqwash was talking to the owners who offered to bring their tool and meet us there. Mum quickly picked me up after work and we rushed off to meet them. They were nice people. They gave us the right tool so we could reach super high and get that monkey down. It was tricky but we did it. TFTC
Research complete will return with an appropriate TOTT. So I can complete an empty DT cell.
Thanks to Budgietas & gooseandegg for replacing this cache to it's original position and thanks to the cacher who brought the discrepancy of claims to our attention. After checking the physical log, there are indeed several online finds that don't correspond to the physical log. We have messaged all of those involved, and if we don't hear anything we will delete the online logs in a week's time...
On the way back form Devonport, Budgie and I detoured here to check on this cache for the CO. After an EASY retrieval from its wrong hiding place, we placed it back (after a few photos to the CO) where it seems it should have been, at a more appropriate height. Thanks to The Hancock Clan for another cool cache.
A trip to Devonport with Goose as we both had a day off. I certainly needed a break as I hadnt really had a day away just caching for a little while. Great day, with the odd shower, but I managed to find quite a few caches as well as get two FTF's which is unusual for me to get even one. The highlight of the day would probably be the FTF on the Hancock clan's cache on the midlands highway. A very cool cache. Thanks for the cacheWe went to this cache to do some maintenance for the owner and find a very cool cache. As suspected the cache was not at it's optimal height so that was fixed and the cache book was signed while this happened
Found this one a couple of months ago, was back today with a improvised TOTT. Soon had mr monkey in my possession Not many logs on the log book
Easy find with Geo Maggie. Found, stamped and replaced, with Maggie and Mollie, my GeoWesties, while roaming around Tasmania with our motorhome Mylittlebus looking for content for our TASMANIA ALL OVER facebook page. Thanks for placing this cache (and others), keeping us on our exploring toes.
Headed to this one for a look as my 5yo geoson was convinced he could climb any tree and wanted a try. Well I didn't read the hint and on standing between two trees I quickly worked out where it was. However there was no way he was climbing the, especially in the strong winds we were in. So back another day with the correct TOTT. WHAT A HIDE!!
Found it today with the fam but our equipment was short of the mark... no physical log. Impressive placement.... TFTC.
Having purchased the appropriate TOTT a few months ago I decided to give it a go on his high flyer. Pleased to find that retrieval and replacement was not too difficult so my name is now added to the log. Thank you The Hancock Clan for the adventure.
Staying in Launcesston we decided to check out the high flying monkey. Oh what a cutie. Mr W made easy work of the retrieval with our TOTT and the log was soon signed. Deserves a favourite. TFTC
We accepted the current month's souvenir challenge to find a least one cache on 20 days from 5 June to 2 July and we are making reasonable progress. We decided to head to Launceston today to look for this cache to try to tick off another day. Equipped with our TOTT, we headed towards GZ and soon located the cache, well above head height but it was reachable with our TOTT. It was an easy retrieval as there was no wind to complicate manipulations. When we got the cache down, it was pleasing to see the appropriately themed container. Although there was water in the outer container, the logbook was in excellent condition inside another sealed container. To our delight, the logbook was blank. So we will claim {FTF} at 14:45. The cache was returned to its location without any hassles. Thanks The Hancock Clan for the cache. We are another day closer to our souvenir goal for June. The cache earns a favourite from us for the apt container and the good sized loop which aided retrieval and replacement.
