Targeted this old cache to fill in another spot in my Jasmer. Logs a bit damp but in good condition.TFTC
We are travelling from Coffs to brisbane airport today to go to Samoa. It's a very late boarding flight so we thought we'd pick up some interesting caches along the way. This one gave us more incidental exercise than we bargained for but we enjoyed the walk a lot. Time constraints meant we had to leave the earth caches for another time. Tftc
This was one of our target caches for the day. Seemed to take forever to get here, but at least it wasn't an overly hot day. Finally got to GZ and located the cache. No problems for us opening it. Previous finder must have loosened it up Barb had been here before and her green ribbon was still there from 2017.Log signed. TFTC
out with fasted looking for oldies tb visit hey ... that is my little green ribbonbeen sitting here for 7 years ... coming home with me now
This oldie was my main target for today so after finding another cache in the way in, I continued on towards the lost lake. With spider stick in hand I led the path and made my way to GZ. A quick find but the container was pretty stuck and hard to open. I managed to get enough strength and pry it open and added my name to the log. Nice to tick off another Q100, now to check out the lake. Tftc Tigey Wigey & PigletFind #6122
Wow what a cool cache! Heaps of room for goodies in this bad boy! Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for placing the cache, the steps and the smiley. The cache description reminds me of how poor phone reception was in this area some years back. On approach the phone battery was low so whipped out the charger as the thought of no phone and no map didn't appeal. The paths have been signed in the intervening years so not really that bad. Surprised at the cache location as the view wasn't as expected. TFTC.
On the hunt for a few special attribute caches for a specific north side cache
On a tight timeframe so it was a bit of a challenge.

The journey back from our swim is all about energy conservation for the two young Geo boys. I decided to leave them at the top of the hill while I ventured for the find.

Over on the Southside for some more caching therapy today. Seems I have been given the choirs of a house repairer, I do not mind really. We had a short break and a meet up for a bike ride and to grab some old caches and a few new ones that I had already got. It was so good to be out on the bike and just riding around in here.
On the trail and around we go, while I had already grabbed the others of the series, it was just this one I needed to complete. Then it was off to this old cache and a couple of earth caches which are going to need some research.
It was nice to grab this cache; there is something about finding an old cache in the bush that is also an ammo tin, a good hide. We signed the log, checked out the contents and then replaced all as found, before we headed off to the next one for the day. Thanks for the cache.

Dropped Little Miss 11 off at the nearby temple for a scouts thing. Still not really sure why she had to be there and what she was doing...but I just said, ok, dropped her off, then Mr T9 and Chamad blessed me with their presence for a fat-burning forest ride and drive around getting caches.
Such a privilege to be getting such an old cache.

What’s better than a vigorous walk on a rainy day? & I had spoken about grabbing this one a couple of times. While in the area we decided to make a run to it between showers, dressed to suit we enjoyed the visit. TFTC
Muggle65 and l pulled on our wet weather gear and took a walk in the rain. Way better than being cooped up inside. Cache was found in perfect order. Thanks for the fun
Headed out this way on my day off to grab a few oldies in the area.
Parked the car in a nearby street and headed off with my pen and car keys.
After finding my targeted caches I decided to get “just one more” and ended up walking over 10km. I should have taken my backpack and water bottle in hindsight.
This was a quick find once I got to GZ as the track I started on was covered in water.

Hunting old caches and this one took my fancy as I’d always wanted to visit the old quarry. We live up the coast now but the in-laws are just a ten minute drive away, so finding this had to wait til our next visit. Cue the Xmas/new year period and the opportunity arose. Pretty sure we picked the hottest day to come here but it was worth it. Beautiful big container. My favourite kind. And in excellent condition. Happy days!! TFTC
An unexpected surprise.
Being a weekend, there were people close by, and down below, people swimming.
We stayed for quite a while, and then found a path down to the water.

Our family did a 6km walk around the reserve and picked this cache on the way. We really enjoyed the lake and the lush forest around the creek. TFTC!
Enjoyed the walk to this cache, another lovely spot.
Thanks Jfreak for the cache and for keeping it alive. A fav from me.

***Apologies for the late log, just found the photos for the earth cache in the area. Logging on the day I visited. ***Out with hatzofff, her daughter and the dogs for a walk around here. Bit too chilly for a swim but we all enjoyed the outing. TFTC??
Muggle daughter needed to get out for a walk after being cooped up with work and no exercise. Now venturing with geo friends we trecked off to get some oldies in the park.

This oldie was a target for me today... I gave myself plenty of time as I've pulled up in the car park previously and decided I didn't have the time...
A nice walk in, not to taxing, and being overcast, not to hot...
After completing the two EC's nearby, and enjoying the lake I let Geepers guide me to the cache... It wasn't long before I spotted the telltale signs... It is at this point that I realise that I no longer have my hiking pole, but think I must have left it in the car.... Big mistake...
I made my mark, replaced the snap lock bags and left Signal Easter Tag to carry on....
Thanks Tigey Wigey & Piglet for bringing me here today...

I decided to start working on finding my ‘10 oldest within 50 km of home’ list as I’ve only got a few more to go, so after visiting Venmanta this morning, I headed over this way. The drizzly weather kept the muggles away and we were almost the only people on the walking tracks though we did see some mountain bike riders veer off the main track just as we arrived. An enjoyable walk and then a short bush bash and we soon had the cache in hand. We were serenaded by whipbirds as we sat nearby signing the log in this lovely bit of bushland.TFTC Tigey Wigey & Piglet
Stepped out on my own today, literally, seeking some solitude while I got some exercise and found some older caches. This area suited me perfected. The weather was also perfect - dry and not too hot, and even better I got to take my new shoes for a walk. Managed to get photos of four original logs in old QLD caches - perfect!
This cache was my target cache for the day - being one of Queensland's oldest 100, and I was pleasantly surprised at its size!!!
Thanks for a great cache, Jfreak. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Out today with my Geocaching’s buddy Grannysmith1947. Our target again was old caches had a few on the list today. But was it a good idea. So hot. As usually we can’t go pass other caches in front us.
Found 19 caches today. A mixed of Traditional, Mystery, multi and Earthcache. Of the 19 caches were 6 old ones.
This 38 of 50 for Oldest and Finest Challenge

Fangsoki had a bit of a goal this weekend for me, aiming to grab some particular old caches for two challenges. And this one has the added bonus of helping me with a third challenge too!
However first things first, I actually had to spend half the day today at work. A major sin for sure after a full week of work too.
But once that was over, it was time to meet up with Fangsoki for the weekend to start.
Oh but we were making another stop for a few hours first too. To check out Supanova, as Fangsoki had a relative operating a stand there today.
So after an interesting and fun visit there, he tells me we are heading here to grab this cache. Ok, I’m not in usual caching shoes, will these be ok for this walk?
As long as they are comfortable then they should be fine, I was advised.
So we began the journey, and were soon parking the car. Then the walk began. It was quite a pleasant walk, with the sun turning rather orange in preparation for the sunset, due to the smoke from bushfires up north. After passing a lady with her two dogs, it was only a short journey further before we headed off track. And it took no time at all to round this particular GZ and see the cache awaiting me.
With log signed it was time to check out that sunset some more, despite not heading to the lake to watch it over.
Thanks for the cache Jfreak.
This cache is my third counting towards the Rambler’s Challenge Cache (GC2XBA7)

A friend lives nearby and has often suggested I come mountain biking with her. I am not a confident bike rider at the best of times and my bike would break in two if I attempted any of these tracks, but she had a spare bike so I agreed to a 'gentle' ride. We stayed on the main track but after stopping to admire the lake, I thought I would check if there were any nearby caches. Score!
So today I was introduced to mountain bike riding and Annie has discovered geocaching, lol. TFTC

Awesome hike after the event on a very well maintained track. Found quickly to make my fifth oldie for the day!!! TFTC
This was my fourth oldie found today and I didn't need to visit a bowls club to do so. Following a local event to celebrate international caching day, Gcoven and I stayed in the area and selectively collected a few caches.
Came by the more direct approach, straight down quarry road and encountered a number of bike riders and a few foot sloggers. Thanks Tigey Wigey & Piglet / Jfreak for keeping this cache active for all to appreciate.

Tuesday. I was out in the area with Ruzzelz today to collect some caches. Ruzzelz said to me that there was another cache ‘down there’. I was actually thinking that I wouldn’t go for this cache, as my bike (having been serviced not too long ago) – decided to chuck a wobbly and the gears gave up. I had no way of gearing down, so had to opt for enjoying the breeze on the way down any hills and flats and then walking the bike up the hills as I didn’t wish to run the risk of not being able to change my gears at all. Ruzzelz already had this cache so I went in for the grab on my own. Found the cache nice and in good condition. A lovely hidey hole here and a terrific sized cache.
This was the 6th of 9 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Tigey Wigey & Piglet***, for showing us this place.

Over from NZ to escape the grotty cold windy weather and staying in the Daisy Hill area. After making a pre dawn start and getting a FTF on the new Fissility EC nearby and also doing the Slacks Creek Quarry EC as well, I headed off down into the bush to look for this one.
For some reason, I thought it was going to take me close to the lake, but certainly, there was no water to be seen anywhere near GZ here. Once the GPS settled, there was really only one likely option, and sure enough, there was the good sized cache. Signed the log and returned all safe and secure as found, ready for the next cachers who venture into this neat forest area. TFTC

After attending a nearby Event, Selva Girls had planned to walk in to this oldie which I had not found, and visit the nearby earthcache on the way. After a call out at the post event mob cache to see if anyone was interested in coming along, we ended up with a merry bunch taking the
walk in and chatting about life, kids and all things caching. We stopped to find a couple of GCA caches placed by the lovely Sambucca Sam, who had come along for the walk with us and was doing a CO check, and eventually got to gz. Those of us who hadn't found this one handed around the log book to add our names, before returning all as found and heading off to the earthcache. Thanks for placing and maintaining this fine oldie

Well this one was a surprise for us for today. This morning we had set off to find a couple of oldest and finest. This one was not on our list but after attending the nearby event and the doing a group assault on a FTF a plan was hatched to come for a walk in here to grab the earth. With a couple of us not having found this one, the team had no qualms in pausing so that we could venture off to make the find.
Returning to the path we noticed what they were up to, they had dumped us and took off…false alarm there they are over there playing with some rocks. We headed over to see what all the excitement was about.

Aha! The cache that never ends
Without the benefit of bikes which would have made this cache a drive-by my son and I slogged it out in foot from out last hunt. The countdown monitor said 1.4 km. How hard could it be?
The trail is very easy to walk but after about 25 minutes of trekking we dared to check the distance remaining and it still said 1.4 kilometres to go. What the sh&t?
We kept plugging on regardless even though our enthusiasm had taken a serious hit. We almost became too scared to look at the phone. Not so much because of the distance, more because we had taken a few selfies in our ordinary looking state.
We just kept plugging along, passing the odd bike rider or hiker. This cache just doesn’t seem to end. Finally the countdown slipped under 1K and the pace quickened. It didn’t really, we just had to keep telling ourselves that because we had transformed into zombies that prefer plastic to brains.
Finally it came time to bush bash down a hill and it wasn’t long before another old cache revealed itself. Finally we were rewarded until we realised our car was a million miles away and we weren’t exactly sure where it was. tftc

I MTB around this area every other month but to date have not collected caches here. This morning with a ride schedule here I found the overnight rain had swamped even the fire trail roads. Every good MTB rider knows not to spoil the single trail tracks by riding in these conditions so I restricted myself to the fire trails and the back blocks to explore and retrieve some very interesting and some very aged caches.
Now this is one of those oldies, what a pleasure to find a piece of Qld geocaching history.

I have been meaning to get this cache for the last 5 years but have never gotten or given myself the chance to. Finally, on a late afternoon walk, I can turn this one to a smiley.
The sun had almost set when we got to GZ and the lack of light and no torch made the last 50-or-so metres a bit challenging. But we got to the cache, brushed off the spiders and finally put our name in the log...TFTC!

Got up early to beat the heat today and had a long walk with joggers, cyclists and a couple of dog walker/joggers passing me along the way. It wasn't as hard as I had thought it was going to be and it was an easy find as I neared GZ. Signed the log and replaced cache as found. Pleased to have it off my to do list. I somehow got a tick on the middle of my forehead and not sure where he started his hitch hike as I only did 3 caches today. TFTC
Good spot. Nice and close to the quarry so you can have a swim afterwards and rinse all the spider webs off! A tip for future finders; try to leave the container top side up rather than on its side; it'll stop water getting in. Just stack a few more bits of wood up against it to camouflage it. TFTC.
Out and about collecting some oldie caches. Great to see the tracks are well maintained here - even it must be because of the fabulous work crew who we keep running in to! Thanks COs for keeping these old caches active. Much appreciated.
Enjoying a trip up from the GC with geo friends and this was a beaut walk along the big fire trails which are currently being repaired due to erosion from the heavy rains. After finding the cache we headed over to admire the very large 'lost lake' which contained an enormous amount of water lilies.
Thanks Jfreak for the good hide and for keeping this old cache alive & TFTC

Came here to specifically find this cache and a few others. We are looking for the oldies and this one more than qualifies. We really enjoyed the walk through here today and I was surprised by the number of other walkers and riders. We also met a track crew who were doing some maintenance and funnily enough they were the same guys we met when they were doing maintenance on a walking track on the edge of Hinze Dam on the Gold Coast only about 2 weeks ago. We had a chat and off we went. We were surprized by the size of the lake and had a good view of it just up the hill from GZ. Cache was found in excellent condition and we happily added our signatures to the log. Thanks for keeping this oldie alive. It's much appreciated.
A great day for a walk down to lost lake. Much busier here than we imagined. Stopped for a picnic lunch then on to find the cache. Cache all good though some contents weathered, but log ok. TFTC.
It was a beautiful brisk morning for a bush walk so we chose to visit this cache. We met 7 bike riders and 3 walkers along the trail Busier here than we thought.
Had no trouble finding the cache thanks to good coords. All good here.
Then we went on to look at the lake - a lovely spot.
Thanks for introducing us to this spot Tigey, Wigey & Piglet.

The weather today is absolutely perfect for a walk in the woods! How fortuitous that I should end up right here and have the thought about it being the perfect place for a cache. No trouble finding the spot although everything's a bit rusty. It's surprisingly busy up here, lots of bikers and walkers. No wonder though, it's glorious

I loved the walk into this cache. We came in from the Ford Rd. end and were able to follow good walking trails the whole way to the old quarry. No bush bashing necessary! . Out here to collect this "oldie" this morning, as I'm going to need a whole lot of these oldies to get a challenge cache some time in the future
Quite a trek in here on a rather warm morning I found the cache hide pretty close to ground zero and extracted the logbook and dutifully signed and dated it. Then everything was replaced back as I had found it. All is ready again for the next geocaching visitor to walk in here and find it for themselves [8d]
Then I walked up close to the quarry edge (not too close) to grab a pic of the Lost Lake through the trees, and then sit and eat my morning tea before trekking out further to try for one more cache before calling it a day here
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the cache Tigey Wigey & Piglet

With a free day, I slipped over to the southside to try and gather up the remaining handful of older caches I needed to finish the Oldest and Finest challenge, with a few others found along the way. The ride to this one was becoming more arduous with every hill, the heat was really starting to take its toll and the sweat was just pouring off.
Stopped at the edge of the track, then realised I need to be down *there* ! Once at GZ it was a quick find. Back at the bike I was passed by 2 hikers with no water or supplies, and I thought I was the only crazy one out here today .
This cache is in good condition, and makes smilie #3119. Thanks **Jfreak** for showing us this spot. Feel free to discover our trackable TGQNRV .

I was out today working on my Jasmer Challenge and this cache was on my list and the fourth and final find. Thanks for placing and thanks to all who have helped maintain. In good condition.

A lovely walk on a pretty perfect day. I had not been out to the lake for a while. This is my go to place for when I feel a bit down. I have been coming here for years and having the occasional swim here in Summer. I love when I have this secret place to myself but today there was a few people enjoying the serenity. I made the trek down the slope to find a nice old Ammo tin. This walk is approx 2kms from ford/avalon rd takes about 25 mins. If you walk from the daisy hill front entrance it is a 45 min walk and if you walk from the Underwood rd entrance near the Buddhist temple it is just over an hour. I have walked all these different ways. TFTC and a reason to come visit my sanctuary again. I gave the log book a new plastic bag and a silica pouch to try keep it dryer as it is getting a bit damp and mouldy.
This cache had been on our list to find for some time ,when an offer of a MTB to get to ground Zero was made ,with a loan from Cantcacheus2014 we set of until the first hill ,ah well at 62 did not expect to race the youngins ,after a small detour we arrived at the pathway to gz ,a scramble down the slope had us at a likely spot and the giveaway sticks sure helped to locate the hide ,signed log and re hid and a Favourite point TFTC
Out for a ride this morning with Gullivers travels54 and this one was First on the list. Another old cache ticked off the list, a great little spot to just stop and enjoy. Tftc
Wow what a hike. Tpo bad i didnt bring my bike. I also bush bashed it for a klm. D'oh. Should read previous logs. I love finding the old ones. Off to ven
I had a bit of time on Sunday arvo to go for a wander in search of this old cache. I have to admit that the Google track maps on my phone weren't that good and halfway through the walk I realised that the "Open Street Map" versions were better. (We have it so easy in 2016)
After taking a bit of a indirect route to the cache I came across some info for "Mountain Bike Madness" and plotted some waypoints on my device. I did end up going past a couple of them in my travels and collected a few clues.
My mountain bike is only something I was given for free and fixed up and I don't have the fancy lycra pants and haven't had that much practice. I will return to do the multi but hopefully I have saved myself a few kilometers of riding by picking up some info today.
I got to the cache after a bit of zig zagging wander. With the log book signed I went up and checked out the lake. Then it decided to rain for a few minute and the blue skies returned. The mountain bikers wizzed past as I wander back not the slightest bit worried about the rain.
Thanks for the cache Tigey Wigey & Piglet. Great area.

Nurseyjulie and I continued our walk along the tracks towards this cache. It is not as hilly here as I had thought it would be. Quite a relief after yesterdays "hill" climb. Eventually, our phones told us that it was time to head bush. At GZ, I quickly located the cache and we added our names to the logbook before we headed back towards the car. TFTC
A walk to one of the older caches in QLD today. Had a bit of a hike yesterday so this was a nice gentle sloping elevation to walk to. Cache was found in good order too. TFTC Tigey Wigey and Piglet
I was riding around Daisy Hill today on my mountain bike, doing Mtb Madness and picking up a few other caches.
This was one of two old ones that I was determined to collect. I had run out of water and was pretty low on energy. As I scrambled down the slope I didn't know if I'd be able to get back up.
From the top of the slope I spied a tree stump about the right distance away and thought that's probably it. But when I got there I still had another 10m to go. But I couldn't see anything 10m away.
Oh well, I wandered down then turned around and there it was. I'd walked right past it.
The log was signed and then I made the slow trek back up the hill.

Walking, walking ,had justr been to hippy cache ,now here, the little old legs are getting weery, but on I go.TFTC.
Today's find began with a hike.
A muggle friend of mine and I have plans to trek the larapinta trail next year and decided we needed to start getting trail fit.
Geopup, my friend and I parked at daisy hill conservation park and set off on a 10km hike via the buhot trail.
This trail was chosen as it by passed the 'old quarry'.
Deep into the bush I we were presented with fork in the trail which was not clearly signed. Do we go this way? Or that way? I pulled out my phone to figure out which turn to take and realised I had completely lost reception.
There goes any plans to find this cache.
We decided on a path to take which ended up being the wrong one (murphys law) but managed to take a few smaller trails which led us there in the end.
The lake didn't dissapoint. It was so peaceful.
After admiring the small fish and tadpoles swimming in the shallows I pulled out my phone to look at the map saved in images (I had anticipated the loss of reception issue before I set off snd screen shot the map)
Much to my delight my reception had returned and after looking up the cache map it was less then 250 meters away!!.
Hooray! I'll find a cache after all.
We all set off a little further around the lake. Up a hill and slightly down again.
I was stumped for a minute or two and then my gps and geopup led my right to gz!!!
I swear geopup knows what to smell for now because he led me right to ground zero.
Cache container in good nick.
Left a few swaps, signed the log and dropped off a TB.
While I done the deed my muggle friend replaced the 2 branches crossed between the trees as this small hint had disappeared.
I hid the container and off we set for the long hike back to the car.

With a day off work, we decided to head to Brisbane and find some more of the oldest 100 caches in Queensland.
A young couple were walking ahead of us with swimmers and towel to enjoy the lake on such a hot day.
Cache was found after a short search
Thanks Tigey Wigey & Piglet for placing this cache

Last cache for the day, it's around 1pm and running out of water on a seemingly hot day.
Even after repeatedly stopping the mtn bike and checking the map view still managed to overshoot the trail exit point by 100 or so metres. Thankfully, quickly located cache. Now comes the exhausting bit, back up to the trail. Shortest route to exit plotted and off in search of potable water.
The quarry is an interesting area worthy of a visit... TFTC

Down from Toowoomba with firebreather03 and Mrs Esky for a big milestone. We set off for this one a little unaware of the distance into this one. We headed off hoping the youngest legs in the group wouldn't put up to much resistance. It had been a big day and bar a slight hiccup at the beginning we had a smooth day. With no question about distance until after we had hit the point of no return we were going to make it to GZ. Now just to find the cache. Down we went and searching we did. Mrs Esky came up with the find, find number 999 for her and with that find she had completed a challenge and find number 1000 was hers. A BIG CONGRATULATIONS and thanks for bring me along for the ride! TFTC Tigey Wigey and Piglet
Mrs E down from Toowoomba today with Kestal and Firebreather03 in search of some old caches and so I could make a milestone. We didn't quite realise the distance to this one until we arrived and one member of the party had hit the proverbial brick wall and needed a bit of convincing to get going. A few furtive glances between kestal and myself and we hit the track at a brisk pace waiting for the "How much further?" question...thankfully not until the half way mark and by that time...well, you may as well keep going.
Much to my relief this was a straightforward find and with my name in the log I have now found 50 of the 100 oldest caches in Queensland, qualifying for the Oldest & Finest Challenge. Thanks TW&P.

Have had a lovely time with the kids, away from screens (except of course for our Geocaching app!) looking for caches today. As I write this I'm enjoying the sound of a whipbird calling...
Found this one more easily than I thought we would, but for a while couldn't get the box open! A bit of muscle is needed TFTC

Time to (a) get some exercise and (b) find a large cache and (c) find one of the OLDEST caches in Queensland. This one ticks all three boxes. It's over a K from the parking area, it's an ammo tin, and it was placed as a cake tin way back in 2002.
So we set off on a beautiful day for the first day in Spring. The walk was pleasant; there were a few friendly muggles to say hello to; and the short bit of bush-bashing was not very difficult.
The cache is in good order (although it took a bit of effort to get the lid open - there's never any 4WD lubricant around when you really need it!). We also picked up the TB: "All In One Geocoin 2012".
Found at 4.10pm on 1st September 2015. TFTC.

After his recent knee surgery, a gentle walk around Daisy Hill seemed like a good way to get Swellerfungus back on the horse. So, nice and early this morning, SeffnJarah, Fungus and I set out for a pleasant stoll.
Daisy Hill was chosen because none of us have cached here, there happened to be some interesting difficulty terrain combos and best of all, some oldies. This was one of the target oldies. Nothing like an ammo can for longevity in the bush. Found in excellent condition.
Many thanks, Tigey Wigey & Piglet

It was geocaching community service day today for Crookedpete and I as we escorted the still lame Swellerfungus on a walk around the area today as part of his geocaching rehabilitation from recent knee surgery. With a display of patience worthy of an award in the Queen's Birthday Honours list, CP and I shuffled along side the Fungus as he plodded along the track, each ginger step a torment for him (and us). With the speed of an ice age glacier, we reached GZ to commence the hunt. After some to-and-fro we located the cache hiding spot and added our names to the logbook. We managed a short detour off the track afterwards to admire the views from the top of the quarry. TFTC
This was the main target for the day, as it is one of the older ones in QLD. A great walk in and a quick find at GZ. We enjoyed seeing the old quarry. Thanks for the cache
