17:12Sometimes the journey is more important than the destination.I could have walked 250 metres total from the car and back for a quick grab, but where would the fun be in that?A couple of books were waiting at the library, and once I'd picked them up, I was half way to Crazyburn. So I decided a walk would do me good. My original plan of parking at the bottom of one of the zigzags was scuttled by some temporary fencing, so I settled for Option B.Said option meant I passed this cache no less than twice in my wander around, over, around and over again. The view from the Trig point is vastly different from the last time I visited; lots more boxes made of ticky tacky. Though the path up to the top of the hill is much nicer than scrabbling through the rocky fields.I stopped to sign the cache log on the third pass. Fortunately, the people that had been exercising nearby had walked off into the sunset. And then it was my turn to do the same. Just in time to witness the evening kangaroo invasion. Thanks, Posums. For the cache and the motivation for a five klick circuit. This also ticks off one of the last few degrees from home.#8909

I don't believe I've ever found myself with a reason to venture around the northern suburbs before although, with a friend needing transport to the airport, I suddenly found myself browsing an oft-untouched portion of my map.I'd compiled a list of potential targets to aim for which stretched out to Eltham and beyond; given I only left the airport at 8:30pm and needed to get back to the south-east, I'm not sure what universe in which I thought I'd be getting over there!Still, I remained in need of something to:a) celebrate my final exam being completed earlier todayb) feel as though the trip all the way up here did not go to wastec) relieve the sting of $30 parking for 1.5 hours!!!Given this was the closest on the list (and a TDOC cache to boot), I sped on over to Craigieburn (well, with about as much speed as one can muster through seemingly unending roadworks).I'm sure this park must be quite nice in the daytime, though it all seemed a little sketchy at night, so I progressed up the path with a bit of haste to gz and had no problems spotting the cache in the obvious position once aided by my phone torch. There was a brief moment of panic as I realised I'd left my pen in the car, so I was eternally grateful to discover one of those mini pencils in the cache! Thanks to Posums for placing this Cachemas trad here! Smile

**Merry Cachemas Everyone!**With the [Geocaching Victoria](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=5381f41f-c082-4a07-a4e5-9610ef6949fe&wid=f816e765-2d9c-4d6b-8310-0e6d8f80fa3f&ds=2) [Cachemas in July Lunch (GCA7WT4)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA7WT4_cachemas-in-july-lunch) event long gone, I still had lots of Cachemas caches to find!Well the snuggle muggle and I made a trip up to [Darraweit Guim](https://www.victorianplaces.com.au/darraweit-guim) to visit the [Darraweit Valley Cider House ](https://dvcider.com.au/). After a nice trip there we started to head back to Melbourne and when I saw that this cachemas cache was only going to be a short detour away, I quickly convinced the snuggle muggle to let me stop to try and find it.We had beautiful weather today, not too hot, not to cold and nice and sunny. It made for a nice lovely little walk. So the snuggle muggle and I headed up the hill taking in the views as we went. As we arrived at GZ, there was one exercising muggle, just finishing up. So we sat and chatted for a bit and once the coast was clear we started our search. Luckily it wasn't too long before the snuggle muggle spotted the cache!A big thanks goes to [Posums](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=0b96b2e1-97ea-4131-943b-7f72a6412553&wid=9982b716-df40-4f5e-bf52-dc796c609f1f&ds=2) for the fun today and the lovely little walk. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status**The cache container was in good shape, but part of the paint is starting to wear off on one side. The attachment mechanism still seemed strong and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

My GPS doesn't have some of these streets on it map, fortunately the phone does.A nice walk up the hill on a windy day. They have done quite a bit of work on this park, it looks good.Waited while some bike riding muggles decided their next stop, then I found the cache. Thanks, Robmc.

*Found on the 24 Sep 2023 @ 8:07am.**Cache find # 15089.*Today I headed North for an Event and CITO but there were a few TDOC23 caches along the way to find.I was tossing up whether to have a look for this one or not as it was a little bit of a detour but seeing I had a bit of time up my sleeve, I decided to go and have a look. There are a few new roads here that weren't on my map but that's okay as I found my way to where I needed to be, went for a short stroll and the cache was soon found once I was at GZ.**Thanks to Posums for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**

A nice stop and leg stretch heading from Western Vic to eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Stunning spring day to be out and about. Found the cache quickly and easily because not a muggle in sight. All good there. Walked to the trig, by which tome plenty of others behind me on the path. Including a small car that appeared from the other side and drove to the trig. Lucky breaks all round.

The house is being painted, we have an excitable puppy, so we decided to go away for 5 days up to Wakiti near Echuca finding TDOC23 caches and nominated caches on the way. This was first and geopuppy was very happy to be out of the car! We headed up to GZ where GMelb soon made the find. We decided not to continue on to find the other cache as we still had a lonnnggggg way to go!

Out on a 2 day TDOC road trip with McLookers, feathertop and micaparamedic and this was our next stop.

A quick walk to GZ, mainly because the wind was bitter and I wanted to get back to the car. Cache found without issue, the log signed and then it was back down the hill.

Thanks for this one Posums...

We came here late in the day after chasing cachemas caches in NE Vic over 2 days. Mclookers and micaparamedic had been to your cache before but Sol de Lune and I had not.
Warren kindly braced the icy wind to sign us in.
Many thanks to you Posums for your contributions to this series...

Well we were impressed!
We love trig points and getting to the top of hills.
The 360 degree views were sensational.
The best part is that we could not only name most of these surrounding peaks but we have climbed just about all of them.
It is just a shame that “Boganism” has already infiltrated this area.
The council had done an excellent job providing the parklands, trail and vegetation with all the suitable infrastructure and it only takes a few “ jerks” to push over some serious posts and make horrible rips in the grass with the 4x4s and drive all over the place. There is also significant dumping of rubbish in the estate areas which drape this lookout hill.
Sorry about the gripe…. Probably saying what everyone else is thinking anyway.
However, we spent a good amount of time appreciating the views…. A favourite point for the great location and bringing us to another “high point”! Pardon the pun.
We vote this as the best 360 degree view of any metropolitan peak we have visited.

Wow such a big park here which also mirrors how big some of the houses are too. I followed the path to GZ, took a seat and looked around to appreciate the views. Found the cache and stamped it, luckily there was no one working out today. Thanks Posums for bringing me here.

This was our last cache of today’s adventure to the northern suburbs. We had to negotiate numerous road detours to get to this Cachemas in July cache. It was the only reason we ventured to this remote suburb for us. We discovered an interesting, very new and large park. It’ll be interesting to come back here in five or ten years to see how it develops. We loved seeing kangaroos within 50metres of us. At GZ three teenage girls told us where the cache was, asking whether we were looking for the geocache. They were using the exercise equipment there but willingly stopped their exercise to find out more about the activity. We had a delightful chat with them. Thanks for bringing us here Posums!

One of my favourites, nice walk

It was “Boxing Day” so to speak and we were slow moving. But there was a CITO to get to so we swung by this Cachemas cache in the way.

Wow this hill has certainly been developed since the last time I visited. It was just a long grass hill with rubbish last time. Now it has paths and gardens and rest areas.

Unfortunately a rest area we had to share with muggles while trying to find the cache, but we managed to do so.

Thanks Posums for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

It’s cachemas time! Twelve days full of events, citos, catching up with friends and turning caches into smileys.

A quick find on the way to this morning’s cito. Made our way up the hill. Decided to explain the game to the elderly muggles - one on the equipment, one on the seat. They just smiled and nodded. Then looked kinda worried as we replaced the cache and left. I now wonder if they understood English. Whoops.

Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Posums
