A few geofinds needed in the northern city area after work. Sunset views from the referenced viewpoint at dusk. Lost my torch so had to feel around a bit before gotcha. Hinted geocache. Thanks Jackscruff.
Last one for the day for me. It seems I followed the exact same search path as the person before me! I just have been right behind the whole time.
There is no problem with this cache. If you don't like snails or insects then perhaps Geocaching is not the hobby for you.
Tftc. Currently injured and glad this cache didn't require acrobatic feats. It may be time for a new log book and protection
Several years ago, I use to live here in Waverton, however, I now reside on the south coast. Visiting the harbour side city for a family wedding. Fantastic cache! Thank you!
Was a good find! Found it with RoseLatte! Wrote in the last spot on the note! New paper needed.
Lots of rocks to look around! Shame the garden has been left to grow wild- it would not win any awards now.TFTC
With 4 leap day events to attend tomorrow, I thought I'd come down to Sydney this afternoon to avoid peak hour traffic tomorrow. On the way, I got side tracked ... and ended up spending over an hour looking for one cache (without success) before making my way here for a straighforward find. It's amazing how you can be blind to one but not the next!!Thanks for this addition to my SideTracked tally Jackscruff.
Quick find as the street was basically empty. Someone left an unused bandaid in the cache which was funny.TFTC.
After work and a bit of walk from the station down to a couple of caches. A baby blue tongue at GZ who eventually gave up the hid. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
On holidays in Australia after moving back to europe over 30 years ago we came to this place where once stood some naval facilities which served as a high school in the 80s for 5 years. Although it is now a parking lot all the memories came back as soon as we parked. As this cache was here we searched and found it quicky. The first cache of the new year.TFTC
SideTracked find 252I drove in from the west to find this. Christmas Day I had expected the roads to be almost empty, but not so. LOTS of people were out and about. I also wondered if trains were running, but then at a previous cache I saw several, so that answered that. Most of the other Sydney SideTracked caches I have found by rail, but last Christmas I caught Covid doing this, and was determined not to miss this Christmas family get together. So hence I drove here. I was able to park across the road, and then I began my search. I searched several spots and finally contacted the CO, who was able to steer me in the correct direction. Than you for your assistance. Have a favourite point. Then I headed back west to be in time for Christmas dinner this evening. TFTC Jackscruff.
Was close by in North Sydney to assist in a water leak search and had a bit of time to kill as I was able to locate the leak and a short time later this cache relatively quickly. Thanks for the hide Jackscruff
Before meeting up with friends in Chatswood, I decided to look for a couple of new caches in Waverton since my last visit. My coordinates initially had me slightly elsewhere so I spread my search and there it was. A few people walking past but I enjoyed a shady spot to sit as well as look at the flowers including these yellow ones (photo) which reminds me of train tracks - they lined the tracks when I was a child. Tftc
Visiting son and grandson nearby.Had to wait to replace the cache while a stream of school students traipsed past towards the Coal Loader.
Found It!Wandered down here after finding the cache at the train station. Then found this one to after a short search of the area!TFTC
We were enjoying a walk around this headland and caching as we went along. TFTC Jackscruff
Rocks, rockery and under a tree. OCW frazeydaze on a lovely Sunday morning. Luckily we jagged a park next to gz and from then it was easy peasey. TFTC
In the area and knocked off a couple hides. This was a simple find with no one around. TFTC!
Found, with shaneo58, We came down from Newcastle to do some caches along the northern line. near Wollstonecroft and Waverlyt. Today started of poring down rain and a bit nippy, but turned out OK by the time we got off the train. This was a quick find.Signed log and Cache replaced as found.**Thanks For The Cache** Jackscruff. This makes the 7th cache of 12 for today making a grand total of 4215 at 10:55AM on this Thursday the 28th of September in the Year 2023
Early morning cycle, been a while since I’ve been over here. Even pre dawn it’s a nice view back home. Cache found and log signed, just as I was getting sorted to head off a black car pulled up. I didn’t react just carried on, as did they, phew! All in good condition, thanks for sharing this location Jackscruff #2087
Haven't been doing much caching lately, but found this one with ilook4geo and added both names to the log. The history on the cache page is interesting too. We were not bothered by muggles when we were there. Thank for this cache placement and for adding to the SideTracked series go to Jackscruff.
We like SideTracked caches, so came here with goingplaces2 to make an easy find very quickly. Log was signed and all was placed back into its hiding place. Jackscruff gets our thanks for placing this cache.
I love going to Waverton. 18 Larkin St holds special memories for me. I didn’t live there but my first gf did ??
Then I inspected the coal loader and then the cache.

So pleased to be able to find a SideTracked cache in SideTracked week.
Found easily with familiar camouflage. I left a small pencil so people can't say "I didn't sign the log as I forgot my pen!"
Thanks for the geofun Jackscruff.

An enjoyable stroll this Sunday morning.
I found the hide with relative ease.
Thank you, Jackscruff.

Headed into the city today and so decided to swing past this hide - always love a *SideTracked* cache.
Managed to get a park about 100 metres from GZ - a bargain if you ask me - and thankfully made a quick find once there.
Took it a short distance to complete signing duties as the area was not devoid of passing muggles. Then back for the replace.
The cache is in good condition.
Now for some cheap travel and retail therapy!

This SideTracked cache at Waverton was our only cache target for today. Appropriately for a Sidetracked cache we caught a T9 train from Chatswood Railway Station to Waverton Railway Station (do we get extra points for that ), then walked along Bay Road and Balls Head Road to the cache location.
Both myself (VK2DF) and the family’s chief puzzle solver (VK2JEN) spent several years in the early 1980s regularly visiting this very spot, as it was once the location of the DCA (Department of Civil Aviation) Technical Training School, where we both studied Aviation Radar, Navigational Aids (such as DME, VOR, & NDB), HF & VHF radio (valve & solid state), CCTV, and various other electronics subjects. The old buildings with their sweeping harbour/river views have long since been demolished, replaced with the HMAS Waterhen carpark that you now see beside GZ. Will upload a photo (Kodachrome slide) of part of the building complex as it appeared in 1987, a few years after we graduated.
Anyway back to the present, and the cache. We strolled along the path beside the roadside gardens, which are a far cry from the barren streetscape that we knew back in the training school days, and soon arrived at GZ. Quickly uncovered the hide and had a very familiar cache camo in hand. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. We then visited the Coal Loader and walked around Balls Head, before returning to Waverton Railway Station to commence our journey homeward.
Thanks Jackscruff for another SideTracked cache to add to our growing collection.

In the area doing a cache check for an abroad CO, and thought would be worthwhile grabbing this one at the same time. No shortage of muggles around the path walking dogs which made searching on the hard side, but actually turned out to be a fairly straightforward find in the end. Must've lucked out here today!
All in order cache wise, thanks!
