Good spot for a leg stretch here And a few minutes of quality stretching had me at GZ A few likely hiding spots were checked, but nothing was showing itself !! So I peeked at the clue ...... and found the little blighter in a spot I thought I checked.Goes to show .. "Caching is demanding without understanding"
Sir_Spectre and I went for a long weekend over to Victoria, we hosted some events and CITO's and was really impressed by all the people that made the effort to join us. Any caches that needed attention got it, with many log books being replaced or extras sheets added as needed. Thanks to all who placed and maintained caches for us to find
Re-clearing out Pinnaroo again. Quick find. Log sheet was full, replaced logsheet.Found with Mogni. The plan this October Long Weekend was to head over to Victoria and host 3 CITO's plus host my first geocaching event, also increase my finds to 20 in at least 5 victorian LGA's. Given that we were caching in the country alot of km's were travelled. The weather was raining on and off all saturday including the night time but by luck all 3 events that day were dry. The first CITO ( and the cache of the trip ) was in Kaniva at the wetlands, the next in CITO was in Dimboola at one of the rest areas, and placing a future challenage cache then slowly making our way to wycheproof canavan park which was our accomadation for the weekend and then up to Mount Wycheproof ( the smallest registered mountain in Australia - at 43metres tall ) for my coffee and sunset event. Sunday started off with a early 630 am CITO in the Mount Wycheproof wetlands reserve ( sorry i did forget about daylight savings when i made the time for the event but it was a dawn and light still ). Now off to swan hill ( which is my least favorite LGA to cache in ) and then a few more LGA's and back to the tent in the dark well past dinner. Then it was slowly heading home via the silo arts works along the way and walpuep and then over the border to pinaroo and home. We went through over a milk crate of spare containers and got 2 and 1/4 garage bags of cans and bottles. Any caches that were found broken/cracked/etc were replaced and any full log books were replaced.
A good day for a stroll listening to the music of the frogs. A nice quick find here. TFTC
This is exactly why we like to geocache as we find lovely walks in and around towns . Great mosaics Quick find Tftc
Good hide, great location and within reach for short people. Log page almost full. Tftc
Nice little walk whilst enjoying some lunch. First find in S.A. Cheers for the cache.
Find # 15866Been a while since I've been out solo for a long trip. But things change over time. And I'm living the past.So with some time off work, I've jumped the border wall to chase down some long trails in South Aussie... don't know how many I'll get. But I've got quite a few downloaded. I do have a short hit list ( of 2) caches to help with a challenge. All others are just for the Adventure and countryside views. Armed with all the necessary TOTT from tweezers and magnet grab to 6m ladder and 8m fishing pole. I believe I'm prepared for all that I'll come across. (Just had to leave the Kayak at home )Day 6. Lameroo to ?, well aiming for Naracoorte. With the big days n trails n short distances behind me. Today's plan is to just follow the icons. Make a few grabs around the Lameroo and Pinnaroo area before making my way down south. TFTC TeamIrawan
Motorhoming around in winter and finding a cache here and there. We stayed at the RV stop last night & came here to use the RV dump point. Conveniently close to a lovely wet land and cache. A fav pt from us. TFTC
We were walking around the town using the caches as a guide. And we weren't expecting wetlands in the mallee. This is a lovely area of greenery and birds and to top off the great location, a cache with excellent placement. Well done TeamIrawan, TFTC.
On the third day of our current mainland visit, we drove from Nhill to Tailem Bend. Along the way, we made our way to Pinnaroo then Lameroo to look the caches that have been published since our last visit, including those that were published for the June Long Weekend End. At times the weather was good but in between, there were periods of heavy showers accompanied by very cold winds. All was quiet when we arrived in the wetlands today. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks TeamIrawan for the cache.
Away for a couple of days with Featherwaite as we try to clean up around Lameroo after the JLWE.We achieved our goal without any dnfs. All caches were in good order unless mentioned.TFTC
A bit of a late log here. We headed to Lameroo for the JLWE events and picked up caches on the way there, while there and on our return trip. What a great weekend it was. This was my first JLWE and hopefully I will be able to attend another one as we had so much fun.
Found It!I arrived here at the same time as Riddell and after a short search of the area, we found the cache!TFTC
Day 6 of my holidays today I left Lameroo after the amazing weekend at the event and made my way into Victoria. I managed to find 36 caches today and only 1 DNF today. I got as far as the Pink Lakes in the Murray Sunset National Park where I set up camp.Nice hide in a good location.TFTC TeamIrawan
Found today on our return journey from Lameroo SA where we enjoyed the SA annual June LWE Event which is attended in a different SA country town every year.It has a different theme every year. This year was called Lameroo Ludicrous Legwarmers and all things 1980s. There were, meals, games, skits, dress ups, dancing, frivolity, competitions for all kinds things with camping and accommodation options.Every cacher has to try it at least once. This is a nice little wetlands area, certainly worthy of a cacheTFTC
Quick find after a short work in the wetlands. Nice work here.June Long Weekend. Lameroo, the heart of the mallee. GCAK1D5 Lameroo's Ludicrous Legwarmers. This year it is on and I am in South Australia. Thunderbirds are go. Pajeros are go.Friday was all about getting there and setting up camp.Saturday was place some caches and then head to Victoria.Sunday was game day. Lots of ludicrous fun.Monday was all about packing up and getting home. The King's birthday weekend in South Australia. But it is not his birthday. Charlie was born on the forteenth of November. It was not Liz's birthday either. That birthday was the twenty first of April. It is all a bit confusing. I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. What a nice welcome! Heading west to Lameroo for the Ludicrous LegWarmers event over the long weekend and I'm a long way from homebase in the mountains. TFTC and the fun.
Heading to Lameroo for June LWE Events and game, of course stopping along the way for a few cache...After dinner in Lameroo, headed out for a few more cache...A quick find hereTNLNSL Thanks
Canberra GeoBash DashDay Eight: Barham to home. Weather: Cooler, perfect. I reckon Ive got time to find the three remaining caches in Pinnaroo in this home stretch. Spiders had added to the camouflage here, but still a quick find for me. Thanks for this hide TeamIriwan - I agree, Pinnaroo needs more caches!
A quick find after stopping at the servo for a bite of lunch. I found your D1.5/T1.5 Micro Traditional called Pinnaroo Wetlands on 23 March 2024. It was find #18772 for me. Thank you TeamIrawan for placing this cache for our enjoyment in the wonderful state of South Australia.
Heading across towards Barrington Tops before making my way to the 2024 Canberra Geobash. Great way to explore our beautiful country. What a lovely spot to stop, thanks TeamIrawan for showcasing these wetlands by placing this here, contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy.
Lovely spot. Great mosaics too- well done locals! Found on the Mega Capital Geobash coastal loop via Adelaide - Barrington - coast to Mexico City loop. A lot of caches and white line fever was sweated out. Thanks TeamIrawan and clear skies from TeamAstro. Went for a weekend with another Zenior Zombie... and Jack.Planned a bit of JLWE mischief [:o)] And found another cache, despite the increasing heat.A little cooler wandering through by torchlight. Thank you TeamIrawan for this cache hide and ongoing care and maintenance ---------------- ----------------------In a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and solid caches falling from trees - - - a cache a day keeps us agile... sort of --------Caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp ) Work gets in the way - and some may take longer to log than others due to mixed technology and need for sleep! The skill and talent of some Zenior Zombies helps, and maybe a spot of luck too [:o)]----------Cache carefully and make sure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on Clean as you go and cache the countryside Big thanks to those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas, in nice safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun for all Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!! Maybe not though - as someone actually did read to the end and alerted me to just a project GC badge that requires long logs [:o)] Well at least it's not as bad as finding a mint tin! Did you get that... stop putting out rusty mint tins, just stop it, now!!! C'est fini... For now... ... until tomorrow! PS:Don't forget to put the SA June Long Weekend in your diary for 2024 too... leap back into the 80s - GCAK1D5 - Lameroo's Ludicrous Legwarmers
Exploring around Lameroo for some JLWE planning by following an unfound cache route with Mattycat, with temps for the weekend over 40 degrees we had the car nice and cool plenty of fluids and hopefully some quick finds, after enjoying a meal at the local pub we decided on doing a few by torchlight, a quick find here tonight to a chorous of animal noises, will need to come back in daylight looks like a interesting spot with lots of mosiac picturesTFTC TeamIrawan
A very nice wet land to meander in and a nice town to stop over...with a cache or two found.
Found while having a wonder around the wetlands.Thanking you for the Traditional Cache that you placed TeamIrawan
Found with CPwanderer and Bindi. Thanks for bringing us here for this clever hide. The last time I visited this wetlands was also for a cache find, on a very hot day in 2016.TFTC TeamIrawan!
While never a great fan of micros this one deserves a favourite...good coords...lovely spot...clever hide!
I was passing through Pinnaroo on my way to Tailem Bend so I took a break from driving to get a few caches. This was one on my to do list. It was a quick find.Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
Hay To Sherlock, stopping along the way where suitable with a caravan on.There has been many new caches placed since we were last here, taking us to some interesting locations while touring the area. Thanks TeamIrawan for hiding this cache.
Chooo ooo [Found] with SQAu on a road trip from Adelaide back to Canberra! Thanks TeamIrawan!
Sparkie and Goldy are back for a special Christmas catchup caching session today. We are targeting the Lamaroo/Pinnaroo area today. We met up in Mount Barker and decided to drive express to Panitya in Victoria. The border is only 5km away from Pinnaroo, so we decided that we might as well go find a cache on the other side of the wall while nearby. We then stopped in Pinnaroo, Lamaroo and Parilla grabbing caches before heading home.Another fun day together with perfect weather. We found a total of 15 caches for the day. I also made a find in a new LGA, as I hadn't been to the Southern Mallee region before today.A nice walk to GZ here. Upon arrival, we spotted the cache fairly quickly.Sparkie had smaller fingers, so she retrieved the cache.A nice spot. Thanks. Thanks TeamIrawan for this traditional cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3890 on the 22nd of December 2023.This also brings me to day #413 of my daily streak.
Stayed in the motel overnight and had a lovely dawn chorus. Headed to the wetlands before leaving Pinnaroo. A quick find of the cache. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
Found on my way back to Adelaide after spending a few weeks in central Queensland and a couple of days in Brisbane, then travelling from Brisbane down the north coast of New South Wales and westward through the Riverlands. Stopped in Pinnaroo to locate some caches and to take a short break in the travels. Thanks for the cache TeamIrawan!
Something special or unusual goes here:This cache wasn't here last time through so we stopped and went for a walk through the wetlands. Amazing can't even see there is a wetlands here from the road. Especially liked at the mosaics along the walk. Once again Sal spied the hide. The Generic Bit:Both Bri and Sal are on the road for a holiday. [^] Holiday - Not a caching trip. This means if we are stopping for a rest, lunch, dinner or to see something whilst on holiday and there just happens to be a cache nearby then maybe Bri can go and try to find it. Maybe. Day 1: Leaving from our home in the Adelaide Hills we made our way through the rain all the way until we were almost at Lameroo. This was great as I had two DNFs to correct there and a stop for the Adelaide to Canberra Multi-cache. Then is was onto Ouyen for another DNF to correct and another waypoint for the multi. Then across the river into N.S.W. for our first overnight stop at Balranald. Only 6 caches found but in three different States and three DNFs corrected. **SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. - BOING*****Thanks TeamIrawan for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
Had traveled east with locus cache on a FTF hunt and after that was over we came even further east for some Used 2Bs. While in Pinnaroo locus wanted to finish re-clearing the area and this was the first of two required to do that. After a short walk I saw a sign and found a cache, then we completed the walk around the small lake back to the car.
Thanks to TeamIrawan for putting out this cache.
Cache #13764 for me.

Last night, ttrogg rang me and asked if I wanted to go for a drive[?][:X] I sure was NOT going to say 'No!'
So this morning he kindly picked up Rex and I[:X][^] and off we headed into the Eastern part of the state[^]
Our destination was Parilla[^], where 3 new caches awaited the first opening of the container and the first signing of the log book![^] They'd been waiting a week[?][?][?] I guess Hurtle must have been busy during that week[?], or slipping on his FTF hunting game[?], to have left 3 new caches unfound for a week
Either way, ttrogg and I were glad to get to Parilla and then the fun started
Apparently we each had to find one cache ourselves and then it was a race for the third cache
Strangely enough, that was how it worked out, too![^]
After Parilla, ttrogg took me to complete a Crane2 multi that was my then closest unfound as I always like a Crane2 cache and history lesson[:X][:X][^][^]
Then he headed off for some of his favourite types of cache series[^][^] and a favourite CO cache as well[^][^] and I had no issues with that idea, either[^][^]
I do think that some of the race car driving scenario at Bathurst must have seeped into ttrogg on the way home as I rarely have visions of dying when being a passenger[xx(][xx(] Not even when being pillion on a Kawasaki behind Robbie Phillis at Mallalla Thankfully ttrogg's judgement ensured that I lived to write these logs and cache another day![^][^]
There was a certain cache, just over the Vic border, that caught ttrogg's eye[:X] however he didn't trust my judgement in getting us there so despite trying one way to get to it, time was called and it was left unfound by us as the border didn't get reached
Our unintended circular route for the day[?] saw us coming home through the Barossa Valley where, during a gorgeous super moon full moon wander[:X][:X][:X], another cache was found[^] That cache made our 4th FTF for the trip and my 16th find overall for the day[^]
ttrogg found this one first then we both SL[^][^] and took the opposite side of the lake to walk back to the car, just to see more of the wetlands[^]

Noticed this cache last night and decided as I needed to check something, why not make a day of it? Great hide once again TeamIrawan. SL and replaced as found. Beautiful little spot, love the mosaics. And I am left wondering whether your magpies are a subspecies as they have a slight variation in their feather patterns. Anyway, enough of that. Thank you for adding this to Pinnaroo's banquet of caches!
