I am back in Tauranga to sign off the completion of the P2P caches and the REALLY Side Tracked series in the Western Bay area plus a few others that might get in the way.I drove through some new subdivisions, with the front fences looking very similar, to get to the start of the cycleway.Cheers for the cache, McJandals.
Third time lucky! The first time we came, it was too dark to spot the cache. The second time, we found it, but forgot a pen! But the third time, we knew where to look, and how to sign it! TFTC!
I didn't read the hint until I had spent some time searching. With the hint, I found it much quicker. TFTC.
Dot day and needed some exercise, so loaded up the MTB and headed towards these caches that extended the previous trail.Parked up on Bell Rd under the bridge and cycled past this cache first to check out the new intersection to nowhere (for now) at the end of the track. So many locusts and sandflies slapping me in the face while going past.Came back to this and quickly found this with the good hint. Was getting worried about the number of wasps around here though. Can't stand them!Good to find a decent sized cache in good condition. Thanks McJ. Tftc
Weve been meaning to do a day trip to Papamoa for quite a few weeks now but every week weve either had other obligations or the weather has been too bad, so we were pleased that today all variables were perfect. After a walk along the beach we headed over to tackle this pathway, which was our main mission for the day. This new subdivision is amazing with a lot more development to come. We parked as close as we could to the beginning of the walkway and headed to this cache. Word of warning: It is not under the stay. Mr Coblet thought hed spotted it but when he reached out to grab it he realised at the last second that it was a rather large wasp nest covered with wasps. Whew, close call. Heaps of cyclists were passing by so we had to be stealthy but we soon spotted the nice sized cache. Heaps of good swag in here too. We did a trackable swap before heading off to the next one in the series. An awesome start. TFTC.
Found at the end of my scooter excursion. Great hiding place and an unexpected trove. TFTC
Good find with woolwood9 on a few days away.*This was the main area for us today - we got a shock with the signs at start (or finish) by P2P 25 where there were barriers and signs saying cycleway CLOSED. However detour took us to access near P2P 11 so we started there. Track is blocked off heading towards the higher number caches on the trail as well from P2P 11.*We enjoyed the trail and good caches for us to visit!SL *tm/ww NZ*Thanks for the cache. Very useful hint.
Heading north with tmann421 for a few days. This was day three with plenty of miles for us to cover.Enjoyed the hide hereGreat trail along hereSigned log tm/ww NZTFTC
Roadie with Mr and the NSWOA cleaning up the pap paengaroa cycle way from our last trip 1 down
TB Drop on the way back from collecting a total of 30 caches on the trail. Thanks so much to the COs for the placements - I had a great time finding nearly all of them, with a few puzzles to go...!
Have been meaning to tackle these two series for ages, and was hoping to knock them off before the end of 2023 to hit our 500, but just didn't quite get there. So, did the next best thing and hit them up on the first day of 2024 instead! This was the first on the hit list today. Good coordinates & hint meant a quick find. Nice size cache, and good for trackables. As such, I returned after completing most of the rest of the series and dropped two trackables here. Trackable drop will be listed separate so that I can log their visits to all the other caches first...SL. TNLN. Thanks for the placement. Really glad to have this turned into a smiley.
Found on 20/12/2023 with a very happy birthday boy!! Had a great time. Really struggled to find this one but the clue definitely helps.
Out with Pork and Puha on nice Spring day! Tftc!Nice views. We see the encroaching houses.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We are renovating at home at the moment. I'm supposed to be shopping for bathroom fixtures, but Gap suggested that we should go caching. How can I refuse? Besides, I'm sure I can do it all... Our plan to meet at Matata were stymied by an accident and road diversions in the area. Let's move to plan B... We met at the Bell Road.
It was such a nice day for a walk along the P2P trail... This was a convenient, secluded spot to do a bit of people watching. We spied the farmer at work next door and wondered how long he'd be able to keep working with urbanisation creeping ever closer. We watched as muggles trod or rode the path below, barely looking up to take in their surroundings. When we got around to it, this cache was a bit more of a challenge. We were guided by our iPhone gps for some time until it made sense to check the cache description and hints. Just as well, the hide was a much quicker find thereafter. Thanks Mc Jandals. TFTC.

Beautiful day for a walk so we decided to knock these ones off Nice to have this cycle trail extended. All caches good. Thanks Jan
Out for a caching walk..a mean south West wind was making its presence felta quick search in a few likely spots and the log was soon signed thanks McJ
We have been a tad distracted with other stuff, so there is not a lot of caching being done. This arvo, I had the choice between housework and caching. Surprise, surprise, we are here! We drove down Te Akuroa Drive, which seemed to go on for ages. OMG, I haven't been down here for a while, and a city has been built in the meantime. We actually nattered away, and Macwatt carried on as his gps was a tad disoriented!! Then up and followed the hint. Nah, but after an expanded look, there it was. Thanks for bringing us here Mc Jandals
First cache of the day and had us hunting for a while. So nice to get on the bikes again. Tftc Dropped off TB.
Decided to get the bikes out, first cache of the day. Took us a little longer than it should but got there in the end.
Great day to be out and about for a winter bike ride. We actually did this cache as the last in the series, watched closely by several quite friendly and very curious cows. The cache is nicely placed to avoid too much interest from passers by which was useful as we took our time to find it! The cache is all good and the great SWAG earns a fave from us. TFTC
An interesting walk out through the building site. Quite a few possible hiding places but didn't take too long. TFTC.

A last minute trip to The Mount to collect our new, new second-hand van and we were fortunate enough to have had some new caches published that will help us with our attempt to complete the latest streak challenge. We very much enjoyed the brisk evening stroll to GZ, such a great clear night to be out. Arrived at GZ and spotted the hint item quickly but we also took a little while to locate the good-sized cache, filled to the brim with fun swag. Well worth a favourite point for the cache and the enjoyable walk. TFTC

MAR was down this end of Pap when ROS called and told her about some new caches nearby. This made a change to our streak challenge cache for today and saved a few KMs travel.
Headed down to park as close as possible as it was going to be a bit of a hike without a bike. Lucky no rain and it was an interesting stroll to GZ to see all the construction going on. Saw the hint item on arrival but took a while to locate the cache, pleasantly surprised to see a blank log so another FTF added to our list TFTC.
