Was a overcast day at home so Mrs NZT suggested we pop out for a couple hours of caching and take Geodog with us for a walk around this path. We didn't realise that it was a lot more inclement in our chosen area of caching than home. Never to be put off though we carried on with our rain coats and an extra towel in the car for for Geodog to keep him relatively dry.Had searched here and found what I thought was the remnants of the container. The cache had been found today so I messaged the previous finder. We get home and the previous finder messaged stating that no what we found WASNT the cache (see attached photo) and it was in fact still there.....We will be back to turn this lonely frown into a smiley.
First time geocaching. That was really fun. I've actually been to this spot before. It's interesting to think that this was probably here then and I had no idea.
Its sort of on the fence, but isnt? Nice location when the sun is out and the tide is in. Thanks for placing.TFTC
We bumped in to Mr Coblet here and he advised us we didnt need to cross the warning tape which is where my gps was pointing. It took a few minutes to locate this one, not the hide I was expecting
After an island adventure Jag 50 and I headed to this nearby cache. We had been told we did not have to go past the warning tape so made a quick find.
A solo excursion for Mr Coblet.Mrs Coblet was at home with a cold and I wanted to give her some peace and quiet to sleep so decided to join a group of geocachers on a mission through the mud not too far from this cache. But since this one was so close it was calling out to be found so I headed here first.I don't think I have ever been to this park before despite living not too far away so it was nice to finally visit. There weren't too many people around today and it was a nice walk to GZ where I quickly spotted the fence and after enjoying the view began searching for the cache. My GPS had me initially searching in slightly the wrong spot but after coming up empty handed I expanded my search area.I made an assumption as to what type of hide this would be which meant I overlooked the actual hiding spot but once I reverted to a systematic search I was pleased to locate the sneaky hide.I signed the log and put the cache back where I found it then met up with avoyager, Merlot and The Wonder Stuff who were also heading to the mud mission and diverted to look for this one like I had.Once they had found the cache we all headed off in search of mud. Thanks hunterinbj for the cache and for bringing me to this previously unexplored area.
Bumped into Mr Coblet who was just leaving gz. Checked a few spots before finding the right spot. The cache is not beyond the red danger tape. Coords were a bit out. [TFTC]
Its been a while since Ive been here, glad to see theyve have done some extensive landscaping here, all thats missing is a nice seat to over look the water. TFTC.
Joined up with Net to find this cache, after a team walk in the nearby mangroves. Approaching this cache was smooth sailing after the muddy mangroves. Once at gz, the cache was located very close to the fence. We werent surprised to see that we werent the first visitors to this cache today. Thanks for hiding this cache
Tonight thought I'd try for this cache a second time, having got rained out the first time I was going to find this cache. So I got to this cache by kayaking to it from across the bay.. arrived near dusk, came ashore and found it fairly quickly. Then headed off again to place a cache later on under the cover of darkness.
Pick this one up before going to see brother Nice wee walk and a quick easy find thanks
As per the previous log - there are a couple of plastic ties attached to the fence that make it look as though the cache has been removed. Ignore them, the cache is still here!!All good in the cache. Thanks
After arriving ay GZ I was concerned when I saw what looked like the top of the cache hanging from the fence. Carried on looking and found it futher along. Signed and placed back with a bit of cover. Thank you for the placement.
The restoration works at Seaside Park have been completed and the cache location is now available to the public again. Go and check it out!
This area os Seaside park is currently closed off to the public as the council is doing some restoration work. It will be open soon and better than ever!
I am down Manukau way for work this morning. With that completed I am making my way back towards the city for later in the afternoon. As such, I can collect some hides along the way. This was one of them. I parked up on Brady Road and walked along the track/road into Seaside Park and over to ground zero. Good coordinates and a keen eye meant I spotted this one straight away; nice to execute a super quick find. Cheers for the cache placement!
Had a free afternoon; and fancied a trip to the Seaside...or should I say Seaside Park.
I have never been here in my life before!
I soon found where I had to walk...and was glad of my gumboots!
Was a nice easy find...well presented; and should stay safe!
The tide was out in the Otahuhu Creek this afternoon....
Interested to know what the bio security fence here is keeping us safe from....
Thanks hunterinbj for your first 2 geocaches. Hope you have some more planned !
( The one at Waimama Bay sounds a bit too high terrain for me ...but sounds very adventurous according to YetiNZ 's log! )

I was on Mnt Eden checking out stuff for this and that, just as I was leaving the cafe there, this announcement pinged on my phone. So I pulled over while still there, got the details, and thought... do I or not do I. Oh what the heck, I need a cache for the day anyway and thought go for it! It was a 18 min drive to the park, then a short little ride on my e-bike to GZ.
Aaahh... there's the fence, I started at the end by the water and gradually and methodically worked my way back along, soon found the neat cache tied on and was pretty sure I'd be {FTF} here - if I could just get the log out! It was a bit tight, and yes the paper was blank and I would have been very surprised if someone had been able to beat me here in that short time!
Thank you hunterinb for your second hide, appreciate that very much. It's also your first hide in Auckland, the other being in the Coromandel, must get back down there sometime. Your co-ords spot on btw, just to let you know. Sometimes that can be an issue with ones first few caches.
Now to head home and catch up with other caching stuff. Nice to see the sun out now, it was hail when I left home....lol.
