Out and about with tassietan and we decided to tackle a few more local caches. We came prepared with our TOTT.A relatively easy retrieval, given we haven't used our TOTT for a while. Thanks for the fun 63ROOS.
Out and about with RoadieM today and we came prepared with the correct TOTT. It was a relatively easy find and retrieval with this cache not too high for us which was good as this is the first high cache we have found for a long time so we needed to practise our skills. I was very rusty so RoadieM took over and got the job done. We admired the creative container and pondered over how it was made. Great idea 63ROOS. Thanks for the cache.
Well. Early knock off from work. Time to do a couple of easy caches. Haha. Did not expect this. Luckily the muggles had just walked by and a quick climb with a short stuck to stretch out and reach and I soon had the cache in hand, where I promptly dropped it, had to scramble down, sign it on the ground and then make the climb back up trying to hold both the cache and my stick. Thanks 63ROOS
Well this was rather disappointing! It wasn't quite a DNF as we certainly "found" the container..but how do people get this down for signing? And more importantly, replace successfully? We guessed at maybe 5 meters up.. way beyond the reach of any measly fishing rod & even a ladder would be a non starter owing to intervening branches. A drone perhaps? In our book extreme tree climbing shouldn't be rated as a T3. Departed GZ totally mystified & somewhat dejected. We didn't even try looking for it's nearby mate as we guessed it would also be a pie in the sky non-starter.
Today I headed to Penna to find a few caches to try and keep up my daily quest of finding 8-10 caches. Today I managed 8 tomorrow will be a better day.Gosh this was a tricky one to retrieve and replace the metal hoop is so tiny! I was a bit worried with the wind and rain that I might not be able to make the required maneuvers but down and up it went. 8.5/10 for TOTT efficiency TFTC
We could see the cache way up in the air but had no way to retrieve it. Unfortunately there was nothing in the description to indicate a pole is required. Thanks anyway.
Found this cache in the wind today which made getting and replacing the cache very hard. The container continued the series of very cool paint jobs. This container was wound up around the branch, so I had to fix that with the pole before getting it down!TFTC
Today we went caching at Midway Point and Penna to try and find all the caches there that we hadnt yet found. We succeeded in that goal, ending up with five finds and no DNFs.We found three of the caches in this series today, all of which required a TOTT. We enjoyed all of them, and liked the camo on the containers. Ive been in this area before to find a mystery, but didnt come into this part of the reserve. The cache was quickly spotted and the TOTT was deployed, although we struggled to hook the cache on as the loop is quite small. The cache was eventually retrieved however, and then it made a much faster descent than anticipated as it fell off the hook, but was undamaged by the fall. The log was signed and the cache replaced, made tricky by the wind which picked up speed just as we were putting it back. It was eventually replaced and we made our way to the next one. Thanks for the cache 63ROOS!
The Cache as part of the CO and Need Challange for catch days of a year so permitted log for helping which made a containter by ideal... i was with 63ROOS by video chats.. tks
Today is the day to find all of the KM caches noted over the past many weeks.
A bit wary at the gate because the nearby work site proclaims this to be a restricted area. Parked the car and made my way through the open to the appropriate place. Wow the wind made it very difficult to retrieve and then replace the cache but that was completed eventually and I was a happy cacher. Off the the nearby cache now.

Today I met up with VK7HCH and Mrs HCH for lots of caching around Sorell.
We did some multis, a few traditionals and lots of solved puzzles.
We even found and retrieved a few caches that required extra equipment to get and replace.
And now that I look on GSAK, I find that one is not by this cache owner.
So thanks to 63ROOS for placing all these 23 that we found today.

A lovely short walk on a ridiculously warm day for winter! A lovely spot and a fun retrieval. We enjoy these type of caches. TFTC & FP given.

We walked over from KM#4 and soon spotted a decent size container. The wind didn't make this one too hard and I got it down safely. It took two goes to get it back safely on its perch.
Thanks for another ???? 63ROOS, good fun!

Thanks for the cache 63ROOS.
After finding KM#4, myself, AlbyDangles, EeePees and my two GeoGSP's made our way to GZ for this cache.
This one was spotted a lot quicker. Retrieval of this one didn't take too long, so we were signing the log soon after. Getting it back in place however, took quite a few attempts.....but got there in the end
Then it was a slow wander back to the cars, the GeoGSP's had a great time having a run around on a lovely warm afternoon.

Hi 63ROOS, TFTC
Hatched a plan thru the week to hook up with AlbyDangles and Lil Rafa after this morning's International Geocaching Day event - to do a little nearby.
So, after a great catch up at said event, we 3 + 2 GeoGSPs headed to GZ after finding the neighbouring cache.
Spotted this one quickly, but then the small noose makes the rest pretty tricky, especially getting it back into place.
Nonetheless, our names are in the logbook and we're off back to the cars.
Cheers, EPs

We parked as close as we could and took a bit of a direct route to GC, goose did the necessary to get the cache down and i added our names to the log book, another nice container, then it was an easy walk back to the car.
Spent the day out to the East on International Geocaching Day

Out and about finding caches published during the week and this was one we found. A great hide and good cammo. Deserves a favourite. Mr W used the TOTT and the log was retrieved and the cache returned to its lofty height. Thanks for the gift. TFTC
Out to grab 6 new hides, this one and the one before (KM#4) i was very keen to get seeing they were still yet to be found, hopefully
A DNF was made on #4 coz my pole was too short, (If i could get to the 1st branch a climb would have been a cinch at one stage in my Geocaching life, but "Having my cake and eating it too" ha ha means the challenge would be somewhat harder now but still do-able) so i moved on to this hide and spotted the cache within a minute. I struggled to see the actual loop size on the cache with windy conditions and not having my glasses sure didn't help.
Once i finally had it down i saw that the 'loop' that hooks it back onto the branch and shuddered thinking how on earth will i get this back [:o]
{Getting these hides back up where they were found, to me, means more than actually getting them, seeing there are other Cachers to find them too}.
I sat myself down and signed the blank log book (all chuffed-as seeing it's been quite a while since i had my last FTF ) at 11:21 on Friday the 4th of August 2023.
I saw the FTF prize inside the cache but decided to leave it there for the next Cacher seeing it would likely be better in their hands (Don't wanna give away what it is)
I struggled for near on 15 minutes trying to re-hook the cache but with some pure fluke i hooked it much to my relief. Made sure it was back properly so it doesn't fall and i was off to the next hide in Sorell [^]
Thanks 63ROOS for the Cache and the challenge for this old duck whom is feeling his age ha ha
