Looked in the bigger place first and made it harder for ourselves! Easy parking on Ahutoetoe.
I don't work Fridays I had come down south from the Far North for few days geocaching over the extra long ANZAC weekend. One of my Auckland sons had been sick the previous week so I couldnt catch up with my Grandkids. Fortunately my other son was available to have dinner with a couple if nights so I got some family time too.I'd spent a few days geocaching out this way and a day exploring the Devonport area. I did a fair bit of walking which I enjoy and found a pleasing number of caches. This hide was my last one for the day before heading north. It was a quick and easy find. Good job on your first hide. Thanks for placing this cache out in an area I hadn't explored until today
**20,749**As parking was discouraged near GZ, had to park a bit further away and take a nice stroll to GZ. Maybe it was a bridge to nowhere once but now it seems like its a bridge to somewhere. Either way, the cache was a nice quick find, hidden neatly away from sight. TFTC
Saw all the grass and thought...oh no this will take a while. Decided to read some past logs to get some kind of hint, then spotted the cache. Nice hiding spot. Tftc
This area shocked me to how busy it was . No issues with the hide . Getting hot now . Might place a few around here for Dianes recovery walks Ill be helping her with after her surgery. I need to ask you to retire a cache near here Glyn , Ill email you when my caches arrive from TemuTftc
Out tidying up a few loose ends for a challenge this evening, and this is one of the ones on my list! A nice easy find here, and my first time visiting this particular area - quite a nice spot, although not so suitable for our particular life stage. Perhaps a nice place to settle down in the future. TFTC!
I FINALLY FOUND IT! I just realise that I walked past it more than 10 times. In a really obvious place cant miss it just keep your eyes out. Make sure that grass doesnt cut your fingers!
Looking for over half an hour but still no sight of it. Was really hoping that I could find it but it just isnt my lucky day
I just realised I walked passed it over 10 times! Really obvious spot and great paint for the camo effect.
Tried to find with my son, but couldnt see anything. Well come back another day and try
We were out to find a dnf from years ago, but when we got there there were a couple of likely lads with a spade constructing some bmx jumps and destroying a reserve. So after giving the geohound a bit of a walk we headed over here. It took Daddypig longer to find somewhere to park than it took him to spot the cache.Nice paint job on the cache, it really blends in if you're not looking for a cache.
( ) My last cache for the day courtesy of merlot58, we have been caching at Muriwai and across and up around Kaukapakapa then back to Orewa area. Merlot got ftf here a short while ago, and so I got this too, it was pushed in a little too far, but merlot got it out with persistence. Thanks for placing the hide Clan Fraser. Thanks merlot for bringing me here.
Out for a ladies day caching with Supernannny and Net61. A nice quick park and grab while driving thru the area. The cache was pushed in a little too far for our fat fingers to extract, so used a natural TOTT to extract the cache. We replaced the cache so it would be easier to extract. Congrats on your first cache hide
Out and about with Jag50 and Net61 for a caching day targeting the North Shore....especially some that all three of us hadn't found...Conratulations on Fraser Clan junior member for placing this!Definitely room for more around the new development.
Congratulations to the youngest Clan Fraser for his or her first hide. This is our 1000th find but we have not hidden a cache yet, that will have to change.Thank you from Howard and Kath
Here before dawn & was surprised how many folk were walking around. Checked a few spots before spotting the right spot. Yip, a bridge is always to somewhere. TFTC
Nice to have another localish cache to find and was so nice to see the CO's name come up as the hider as haven't seen them active in the area for a while. This place has sure grown up with a whole development going on. Not a lot of street parking due to the high number of cycle ways but managed to squeeze little car in around the corner and walked through to where the cache was. Soon had it in hand. TFTC
We were looking for a cache to fill a dot day and hubby saw this new one in Milldale. The houses around here have gone up so fast. Thanks to junior Fraser clan for the placement.
After finishing up at work, today, in the early afternoon I decided to take a relaxing drive in the countryside. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to find a few hides along the way, now would it? This was my first stop of my jaunt. I parked up on Ahutoetoe Road and took the footpath, behind the houses, around to ground zero. I walked pass the hide initially, but soon back tracked and found the hide in the obvious spot. Cheers for the cache placement!
I’ve recently become a Coastie but as yet hadn’t ventured over this side of the motorway to explore Milldale. I was working in the city today so wasn’t expecting this to be still unfound but a message from Gorby just before I finished work alerted me to the fact that ftf was still up for grabs. As it was still daylight when I got off the bus I decided to make a detour and I was soon parked up on a side street. Co-ords we’re spot on so it didn’t take long to find the cache and I must say I was impressed with the paint job. As I was signing the log I got tooted at, that hasn’t happened for a long time!! Thanks for an unexpected {FTF} at 5.30pm.
