A pleasant morning caching with Team Welsh on the Shore today.Parking was at a premium at Island Bay this morning, so one of us was dropped off while the other had to go further afield with the car. The tide was quite high but there was still some beach for TW and I to walk along to the stairs. Once there we were soon in a position to spot the cache. Thanks.

Last cache find of the day for me today. Mr KC and I wandered along the beach from the end of the road and managed to make the find and get back before the tide got too high. No problem in locating the nicely hidden cache. Thanks### LET'S HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!! ###On **May 3rd, 2025**, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in **Rotorua, New Zealand** with a special **Block Party** event. #10576:From the previous cache, we continued past the houses and managed to find a path to the foreshore, leading us to Soldiers Bay. We spent a little while sitting on the sandstone and reading our books. By this point, the tide had lowered, so we were able to walk along the beach, combing for interesting things. We ended up at the bottom on what looked like a sluice, so we climbed the ladder back up to the road. It was then a short stroll down to this lovely beach, via a fantastically hidden cache. I left my second and last TB inside, which I'd swapped in Bali last month. We then proceeded to the nearby park, where we read again, and I dozed off. A pleasant afternoon out indeed. TFTC, and have a favourite point.

Out with Net61 for a ladies day caching on the Shore where we were going collect a trade me purchase on behalf of our daughter. MrsJag took the hard approach to gz, while Net took the easy approach and she found the cache. Nice views from here and we stopped to check out the beach as the tide was out, before continuing on. TFTC

I touched the box containing the log, and could sew it. But due to general muddy slipperiness I didn't climb over to get it. I'm going to claim it as found, but am happy for CO to delete my log if you don't agree! Beautiful, tranquil beach for first day of school hols. TFTC

I gave the elder future finder a driving lesson this afternoon and decided that this was as good a place to navigate to as any. We practiced some parking in the car park before making the walk along the beach towards ground zero. We climbed up but couldn't spot the cache from the stairs, initially. I climbed up the left, of the stairs, but couldn't find it this way either. Then I realized that from this angle I had miscounted. Another ascent and this time I spotted the goods. But I didn't fancy crawling under the stairs/platform, so I climbed up and over to complete the formalities. Cheers for the cache placement and the mini adventure this afternoon!

Awesome! There is a treacherous route and there is a route best found by little people!

Teamwork indeed Supernanny. Havnt been caching for a while due to another injury (again) this time not geocaching related and was popping out of the car and noticed Supernanny in the carpark and yelled have you found it. Yes but not logged was the response - well last time I bumped into SN was a year ago and she helped me find a cache as I could barely move, similiar situation so with the help of Vicky we all signed the log for a joint second to find. Teamwork indeed. As an aside I used to love windsurfing at this spot so know it well but I gave that up a few years back.
Thanks for the large cache

In area so thought I would check this out.
Not keen on scrambling...scarey on slippery bank to even get to first landing
Sorry but not prepared to clamber to second landing at my age with no one else nearby if I slip.....
Lovely area to visit though.

What a miracle!

Was feeling really despondent about a possible DNF ... and trying to put off leaving; when Handyandyman.and his wife Vicky rocked up!

No problem at all for her!
Nice to see you guys!

Teamwork??????

Many thanks COs for placing the cache in such lovely surroundings.....I guess the Island one is no longer there...?

[FTF] @ 10:00

This weekend I am visiting Auckland, just a short visit and don't have a lot of time for Geocaching so I only have a few very specific caches on my target list, and this was one of them.

Actually it wasn't, until I was up and about Sunday morning and saw that no one had yet come out to find this recent publication. So then it was. We have a suburb in Wellington called Island Bay too. It's called that because it's a bay, and the bay has an island in it. I looked here, but could not see an island anywhere. I did find the cache though, exactly as described.

---
Thanks to BroeyB for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

[DGSc-Fast] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.
