Cleveland, Ohio in the Tremont area. Used to be a bank, there are several Flatirons in this trendy area.
Woonsocket Rhode Island has a Flatiron at the corner of Arnold and Main Street. The building dates to 1874 and constructed for the National Globe Bank. It was three stories tall with a mansard roof and a tower on the south end nearest the intersection. It has had some alterations over the decades.
Third of 16 finds on day two of the DEM/A2YG End-of-2005 Bendigo Assault. This is the City Family Hotel in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. The picture shows the narrow frontage of the hotel, which is about six feet wide. Thanks to dgreno (and forman) for the cache.
This "flatiron" motel is located on U.S. Hwy 41, just south of Hale Road in our home town of Land O' Lakes, FL. When construction began on Hwy 41 to widen it from 2 lanes to 6 lanes, many of the older buildings were actually cut away to give right-of-way to the road. Here you will see how the building has been cut, then reroofed and resided. Maybe Ramblin' Man stayed here.
This building is in downtown Syracuse at East Genesee and South Warren. The ArtMart is in this building. Nice day to be out and about.
I grabbed this one on a chilly day right before Christmas. It's sort of hard to tell from the pictures, but the side of the building that I am facing is much more narrow than the back of the building. I think it was built this way to accomodate the railroad tracks.

The Stoner-Johnson Insurance building at the intersection of South Street and Airport Hywy. in Toledo, Ohio. Took a picture of the "skinny" end and the "fat" end!
This building is located in Muncie, Indiana. As you can see from the picture, it sits in the acute angle formed by a street and railroad tracks. The building is currently empty and for sale.
This is an old building built somewhere around the 1900's now used as a warehouse in Kenosha, Wi.
This "Flatiron" in Beloit Wisconsin is home to several businesses including a barber shop and resturant as well as some apartments on the upper level.

My buddy Nicolo suggested I look down in a certain area to find one of these and lo and behold. Not too many of these in the city. This one is a personal residence. Thanks!

Everytime I pass it on the bus it always reminds me of the flat-iron in New York, so it immediately sprung to mind when I saw this cache. By New York standards, though, this building is a baby, at just 3 storeys high.

This is the Flatiron Building off of Rt 40, in Brownsville, PA. It is now a museum, open for tours. Enjoy the photos.
There are only a few buildings of this shape in the United States. They were designed to fit triangular parcels of land and called flatiron because they were wider at the back than they were at the front and they had large roofs which made them resemble irons. This one, made of Flemish-brick, was used as a post office for a long time. It is entirely restored and is the home of the Flatiron Building Heritage Museum.
Thanks for the hunt, that makes kill #160 for us.

These coordinates will lead you to a parking lot where both of these unique buildings can be viewed. The golden building is a Horseshoe Casino Hotel the other is an AmSouth office building. The AmSouth building is in downtown Shreveport, LA and the Horseshoe Hotel is across the river in Bossier City, LA.
This flatiron building is between Main, Ottawa and London Streets in Hamilton, Ontario. It's shape is due to the angles of Ottawa and London Streets and gets wider towards the rear as the space between those two streets widens.
Located at Williamsport, Pennsylvania at the intersection of Market Street and Hepburn Street. It served for many years as a pharmacy and gift shop and when the pharmacy closed it became a gift shoppe and ice cream parlor. There are apartments above the shop. It is now closed.
Foun this flat iron in manchester (UK) there are a couple of others in the area as well.

This building is at Stonebridge, Darlington, England. It was formerly a Pawnbroker and Jewellers, but is now empty.
The awkward shape is due to a narrow lane behind it that used to run down to a ford across the river. The ford has long since gone, but the lane is still there.

This odd shaped building is located in Nanaimo, B.C., Canada. Originally the Vancouver Island Power Authority, it is now BOO Streetware. After inquiring at the Archives, I found that this building was built in 1941, called the BC Hydro Building, built of concrete with a flat roof, wood sash windows, cast deco panels, and original wood entry doors.

This flatiron building is on the corner of Coldstream Avenue and 32 Street in Vernon, B. C., Canada. The building houses an adult store called Libra Video & Love Boutique. If you are driving through on Highway 97, you would pass this building which has one of Vernon's 27+ murals painted on the alley side of it. The building opposite this has another mural. Libra Video & Love Boutique has been located here for at least 15 years.
This is a building of a big insurance-company "RheinLand-Versicherungen" (actually celebrating their 125. birthday) in Northrhine-Westfalia. It is located in Neuss (near Düsseldorf, Germany).

This building at 6151 Garfield ave in Sacramento was constructed by Remodeling specialists, designers and contractors CA Miller & Morgan Designs. The angle is quite sharp, perhaps less than 30 degrees.
We watched this building go up on this extremely odd shaped lot about 10 years ago or so. Hard to imagine how that sharp corner is used inside the building.
