I never seem to be able to get this one any time I'm in the area because of the hours but this trip I made sure to be where I needed to be within the timeframe. Headed over here after grabbing a few Wherigos not too far away. Email with required information has been sent, thanks for the fun!

We love virtuals and this is a good one. The dog loves the grounds and we took turns exploring the cool house. Thanks for keeping this one alive.

Together with ErikSi I made a 12-days trip around the USA, starting in Los Angeles on 11/7.

From L.A. we drove around 12 days (and nights), made over 6500 miles (10,500 km), found a lot of remarkable caches and saw beautiful places.

At first we drove to Tucson and Mexico, then to Denver, Salt Lake City, Mountain Home, Las Vegas, San Francisco and finally back to Los Angeles.

Thanks to all owners who made that trip possible.

We found hundreds of Challenge Caches. My statistics are hidden, but there is a folder with proofs for the Fizzy Challenge as well as the date and month challenges and all other easy challenges. Folder

I'll try to load up pictures for all difficult challenges, too.

If there is something wrong with a condition please conact me bevor deleting the log.

I hope I can come back next near, it´s a really great country with a lot of even greater caches.

Actually, the highlight for November had already been found: Caching in BRNO.
Together with Trebbi we roamed CZ on several glorious days.
It was there that the question arose: Do you want to come with me to the USA? Departure next Saturday.
Wow - that was a minor organisational feat, but I was ready for the adventure.
So I didn’t have to think much about it; of course I said yes.
We took the same flight there, but my return flight was a little earlier and via Moscow.
It will still take weeks until all impressions will have registered.
We can safely state that we have enjoyed - or suffered - to the full every scenery and every weather in the southwest of the USA. Especially the blizzards and the highway patrols bore down on us.
Many excursions and trips were made spontaneously at the cost of our sleeping time. Never before had I spent two weeks with less sleep!
The things seen can hardly be assimilated. Whether it be the crass contrasts of the scenery, the endless roads (after all we covered 10,500 km during our trip), the brilliant cache series or the spectacles of nature we visited.
and...
and...
The caches we found are incredible in every respect: age, kind, D/T and whatever else the statistician's heart desires.
It was not easy, but we managed to resist the call of the big rounds of traditional caches.
Result: Supercool!
If it was not so far away from home, one could lay their homezone there.

9891. Found this during our holiday around the USA.

Today we had a hire car to get from LA to Palm Springs and we managed 7 Virtuals along the way. This was the second stop and well worth the effort of getting here. The area was lovely to walk around and virtually deserted. Info gathered and sent to owner - permission to log received very quickly - thank you ! Then we headed off to the next one.

Thanks GeoCraig!! Favourite Point !

TNLN - TFTC !!

Cheers from Australia !

Came over today to snag this one, in particular and ended up grabbing a few more in my old "college home " of Highland Park. Lummis (rhymes with pumice) was a great guy and a real conservationist and humanitarian. I was especially impressed with the picture of his son over the mantle with long blonde hair (as a tribute to the local indigenous Americans!) We spent a nice long while touring and talking to the docent there, after a while we moved on and I viewed the plaque before I left. Thought I logged this one already, but here i go for real. Already contacted C/O w/ info and got the go-ahead... TFTC!

(P.S. The word is that Occidental College may take over the conservatorship of this great icon, and get to the much-needed maintenance. It has survived amazingly well for a home over a hundred years old, built entirely by hand with little professional maintenance...)

Greetings from Belgium,

[blue]This was a cool place.[/blue]

We planned this trip for a very long time. Months ago we began to prepare for all the caches we wanted to do during our road trip through the south west of the United States. We saw so many beautiful places that one can hardly believe to have been there. From day to day the landscapes changed and we would never have expected that it would be that great. We did so many caches along our trip and had so much fun. We would like to thank all the owner for hiding them and for showing all these places to us.

Had to hit the area today when the gates were open. Thanks for this history and much less grade/steepness than the other two we did in the area!

Even though I had seen the recent logs, I tried to view this virtual while going through L.A. BUT...it was in vain. I still was able to obtain what I think is the answers, so I will send these to CO for now. Hopefully this iconic icon doesn't get archived.
