I needed a letterbox today for a personal challenge, but after my rather horrific walk yesterday, I wasn't in the mood for a similar walk today. After checking out numerous caches, this was the one I decided to go for. My second choice in parking areas turned out to be a good one, and I was soon off after a find. It was a quick find and my name now appears in the log. Thanks for this cache Aquilus1.
Took the opportunity to snaffle the AL here and collected a few caches along the way. The cache is in excellent condition and a quick find here. Tftc
#4844 Even under torchlight this one was impossible to miss. Appreciate the effort in placing this LH out here for us to enjoy.
Quick find in the dark during a night of caching adventures with Turtle284 and DeadThief. Such a great container, hard to miss and suits the title!Thank you Aquilus1 for the cache!
Found on Superhero Day. I was scouting Mt Stranger today to plan and assess risk for a Scouting activity in a couple of weeks where we are going to do the night cache together. I was meant to come on the sample tour prior to the Capital GeoBash, but The Vid had other ideas. This was a quick find, a very cool hide! A tarantula crawled underneath one of the 2 containers, the one with the stamps in them. Hopefully it doesn't frighten my Scouts too much! TFTC A1!
Sir_spectre and I are making our way home from our ACT, NSW and Victoria holiday. Unfortunately, due to family circumstances we had to cancel our Mega adventure, so this trip was to make up for it.Many caches found and any that needed some love got it.Thanks
Stopped to get my letterbox count closer to 25 in the ACT. quick find. Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favourite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and eevry different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.
I was up to my day for a trip down south, so I selected one of the caches on Stranger hill and set off. I started at the other end of the trail than I have been doing recently and after dodging a few over friendly licky jumpy dogs, I made it to the gate and then the cache. The cache guardian is still in place, but was not too concerned as I lifted the container out for signing. After the short walk back to the car it was time to head home. Thanks for the cache Aquilus146294.1 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & March 2024 The Great Frontier A#549**Albida**
Canberra Mega time, day three.Collecting a few AdLabs and occasional caches down south of Canberra.Started on the Bicentennial trail and ended up on Mt Taylor.Found the cache guardian here, they were not impressed at being disturbed.A good sized cache here. Thanks, Robmc.
MEGA time. Im trying for different cache types in a day. This letterbox walking distance from home was first up. There is a shy huntsman guarding the cache. I left a Pathtag that hopefully an interstate visitor will collect. TFTLB FP.
My daughter and I left Brisbane on Wednesday night, and made it to Canberra after lunch yesterday after a stop to see her brother in Sydney on Thursday noghtIn town to enjoy a few days of the Canberra Mega before heading to Melbourne for a family birthday party. After our first night in our accom I was up early while she caught up on sleep and picked up a few early morning caches Found a safe place to park and was soon at ground zero where the cache was quickly located. Log book signed ( needs a new one by the way )and back to the car and off on the next challenge.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.
It's always good to go geocaching with like-minded friends even if you've only just met some of them ??. I'm out wandering around in the dark with grannysmith1947, Bellahappychappy and CharisMaree. Our primary aim is the [Stranger Night Cache](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA8MQT_stranger-night-cache) but obviously we didn't miss any others we passed while we were here. Thanks for find #5955TNLN

Back in my old stomping ground after leaving a couple years ago. Was new to caching so didn't get many before moving so what better excuse to get some than the MEGA!Attended the opening ceremony than it was offTo do 'the stranger night cache' with BellaHappyChappy, Grannysmith1947 and meanddee when we realised there was more caches around so of coarse we had to do some detouring. This was my first 'night cache' and i had so much fun. Noticed the letterbox icon on the app so off we went to find it. (First mailbox in Canberra) Tftc!
Geobash Easter Mega - Day #1 (Maundy Thursday 28/3)Day one of my mega trip started with a very early wake up and with a leaving time of 5:22am. This is so I could get to my first of three (pre-registered) tours over the weekend which was at Parliament House (on time). It was a great tour and I learn/saw lots which I hadnt seen before. Of course we also found the caches nearby. Once the tour was over we went our separate ways. For myself, I went to check in at the mega site. Got all my goodies and even bought a Geobash Bucket Hat. Afterwards, I went with a couple of others to find the nearby Letterbox. Afterwards it was time to head to the nearby event (GCAKGK0). It was a great event for everyone to catch up. I ducked off early and found the nearby caches. I then went and got ALs plus saw some suspicious characters getting dinner. They invited me to tonights Mt Stranger tour. So of course I had to go. It was great fun walking around and find the night cache as well as others nearby. TB visit. If the cache wasnt signed as JohnoMawbs, it was signed as JM or as the tour group name. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTEs & TFTCs Signed as STG. This cache was one of those we found while on the tour. A nice quick find and soon it was signed and replaced. Another great find to add to the list. Now off to the next one.

Day 2 of my magnificent mega caching experience in Canberra and surrounds.Today I C Nothing, meme28, geotrakka, Burns345, neva2old & I (signing as WA6) focussed more on the central Canberra area with a couple of tours booked at Parliament House & the Australian War Memorial, was fantastic to see these places and meet caches from all over the place too.The evening was spent on another mega tour at Mt Stranger.Once again a great variety of cache types and containers were located and with a large group the competition to get hands on the log first was high, with plenty of laughs along the way too. Thanks Aquilus1 for placing No Junk Mail! for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 20:53 on 28/3/2024.This is find number 8411 for me.
Stranger Tour Group - night tour. There were some new and familiar faces tonightWandering along with torches. The best cache of the night was this letterbox and to me it is worth many FPs. Everyone let me sign the log and I thank you for that. The bonus was a star ?? stamp and of course the night was the 28th!I guess the stars aligned tonight.
Very happy to be here for my first Mega event from WA. Out on a night adventure woohoo! Signing as STG ( stranger tour group)Loved watching meme28s delight on this one. Heres a fav pointMy personal aim is to try and boost my numbers to hit my next milestone whilst here. Many thanks Aquilus1 for placing this hide for me to find and adding to my adventures.
The Adelaide Leap Day Mega and Canberra Geobash gave us a great excuse for a road trip. This trip has shown us so many new and interesting places as weve chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites.Meeting up with friends old and new along the way, we sometimes cached together and sometimes alone but always had a great time. Tonight we joined the Mt Stranger Night Cache Tour led by the lovely CO. Armed with torches we all set off on this fairly easy walk up, over and around Mt Stranger, following the very well set up reflectors and stopping to find caches we passed along the way. A most enjoyable way to spend the evening. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us and adding to our enjoyment.
Caching from WA west coast to ACT for 2 megas. TFTC. A great cache found in the night.
Great HideThanks Aquilus1 for the cacheJames0116Wednesday, 27 Mar 202410:22:42pm AEDT4176
Some good recycling (or did it just go missing one day?). Found in a nice little grove. Thanks,
After an afternoon in the sub terrain, this evening we joined one of the sample tours and wandered with a number of others. There were roughly 20 odd teams who wandered the hill tonight in the dark. Following the lights, we made our way along the designated route collecting caches along the way. This one had a horrid 8 legged guardian... yuck...No issues with the caches along the route. Thanks heaps for the tour Aquilus1
We spent earlier in the day down in the tunnels with a group of people, then it was time to spend the evening in the dark with another group of people. We put our hands up to join this night Geobash sample tour. Which was a great walk in the dark with torches shining every which way. There was no issues with any of the caches along the way being we had the CO with us. All were found and signed as a group. This one had a lovely guardian at it, which we were hoping to see jump on the faces that thought it was a good idea to take a photo with it. Luckily that didn't happen. Thanks for the hide and the night tour walk Aquilus1
Holy crapoly that spider was big. Glad I was back a ways so did not have to interact with it in any way. Nice hide though. Thanks for getting me out and about Aquilus1
#9112 Tonight iplod65 and I joined a trial night-tour of the caches on Mt Stranger. We had to drive through a heavy storm past the airport so we wondered how it would turn out. We need not have worried as it was completely dry at the start. The night tour was a blast and we'll attended by about 21 people, so it was a good trial and everyone seemed happy with it. Or was the arachnid guarding this one. ?Thanks Aquilus1 for this Letterbox Hybrid
Find # 11080??? ??? ??? ALERT??? ??? ??? CACHE GUARDIANOut in the Capital GeoBash trial Mt Stranger night tour accompanied by 20 or so others. A great selection of caches to find on this circuit, and an easy path to follow. There are so many well defined reflector markers, youd have to have your eyes closed not to be able to easily find your way. A bit uneven underfoot in places so appropriate footwear ?? recommended, and a good torch ??. Some pretty tall grass to wade through for some of the finds, all well maintained and it good condition.Great fun with a bunch of equally eager enthusiasts! ?? Thanks Aquilus1 ??????????
Found on the Capital GeoBash Mt Stranger sample night tour. Fun night with lots of wonderful people! TFTC & tour, was great to try something different!
Found on the Sample Tour run with a group of 21 .Nicely hidden and even a cache guardian to keep a few back. Signed as one group. Thanks to Aquilus1.
A couple of big cache guardians in residence on my visit. They recognised me as a cache so did the 8 legged side step. Thanks for the cache.
Found with fitzy_1965 on a warm summers afternoon. It was a little bit of a trek but we managed to find our targetted caches. Thanks for placement.
34,019. Found with minniek during our afternoon walk today. Our walk today comprised of this wonderful little reserve down south. While have cached in here before it was minniek's first time. A nice simple walk along the trail with some gates allowing access to certain caches - awesome. Once up at GZ we made a nice quick find on this sought after Letterbox Hybrid. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued on to the next cache on the list. Thanks Aquilus1 !!
Just a little while after I last wandered in this area (I was doing the really nifty 'Stranger Night Cache' at the time), a few new caches popped up. It has taken me far too long to get back but finally on this last day of 2023, here I am.With four caches as my target, I opted to do this one - the farthest one from the car - first. Dark skies looming overhead ensured my walk was brisk, and I was soon at GZ, looking at a nicely put together letterbox cache. The log was soon signed, replaced as found and I headed off to find me a trio of trads! Thanks for the cache, Aquilus1!
Found all safe and sound. This is an awesome cache. Love it!! Glad I missed the cache guardian. Tftc!!!
Needed a little exercise, so decided to finally go get these caches with dty73! Had done the loop sussing out the hiding places with the CO, so was nice to finally see the end result today! Cool hide here, favourite from me! Thanks Aquilus1!
Spotted the likely spot on the short walk up to this and for a second I thought you might have gone to the trouble of planting that tree lol. This was another really cool hide to find, and one that has already been taken as a home by a rather larger spider who didn't like me reaching inside. Fav point from meThanks Aquilus1
A relaxed walk on a sunny afternoon. Cache quickly found, signed and replaced. TNLNSL TFTC
It must be summer because suddenly its hot and out here with limited shade you can certainly feel the heat. Car parked at point hut so it was a short loop back to it, this cache was very nice and new, if not sparkling, TFTC
A pleasant walk to pick up this letterbox, went through the fence from the path and made a quick find! Everything in good condition! Hopefully ALL7 picked up the trackables and just hasn't logged them yet, as I didn't find the two listed in the container!
Many thanks A1

Thanks, Aquilus1.
