Logs
JDScout and I are spending eight days and seven nights away. Four nights in Nelson and three in Blenheim. It's another campervan holiday with ebikes Today is day one. We decided to stop for afternoon tea here. The mountains look pretty with the snow on them.
My third-last hidden date ticked off. TFTC. A busy intersection today: weed sprayer operating and a large truck loading a digger. TFTC
Here I am with the snail shell parked up in Murchison ready to locate and sign off some of the latest caches and then later some not so new.I was now off to do the Braeburn Track caches but this one got in my way so I had to stop and sign it off.Cheers for the cache, bullertrout.
It was briefing time for kayakers when we passed here on the way in, so too busy for us. On the way out, it was all quiet. Didn't try for any trout today, but we landed a load of caches! Thank you bullertrout
A nice quick find. The place was busy with kayakers as we headed up the Matiri Valley. The coast was clear when we returned. Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are out and about, heading towards after spending a day in Murchison. A lovely day for a drive and a bit of a cache in some back country.Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
With a few bonus days up our sleeves, we headed off a few days early to get some bonus caches. Without the caravan in tow, we had the opportunity to stop for some that we wouldn't otherwise be able to get. This was a cache we attempted a few weeks back but there was someone there that was cutting the grass - right at gz - so we didn't stop. This meant that we had to stop today and the area was clear so a nice quick find was made - in the rain. tftc#7192
Nice quick find here at the turnoff today. Will be turning off for real at some point to find your caches further up the road but just the park and grab today to keep those numbers ticking along. TFTC # 20,776
On a Week road trip to Nelson,Buller and Greymouth. lots of driving and walking, plus biking, lots of great caches many thank to all the CO"s - Bitsprayer
On my way from Canterbury to Nelson for a couple of days. I stopped here and found the cache in the first place I checked. TFTC, Biggles.
On the 10th of September 13 new caches were published while we put our names down for a CITO for that day. What to do?We're not FTF hounds and being retired means any day can be a caching day.So today with a perfect forecast for a bush walk we added 2 caches to the 13, packed a lunch and away we went. There was some hilarity when my GZ pointed to a flat open space with some signage while Holymu quoted the hint as "base of tree".After comparing notes we agreed on GZ and the hint and made a quick find.Thank you bullertrout for the cache.
We waited impatiently for this batch of new caches to be published after being alerted to them at an Event, then when they were we had already committed to something else so they had to wait until today for us to make the effort. It was only after some discussion I realised my phone wasn't playing ball so remedial action was taken while Hazedarus went and made the find.Thank you bullertrout.
I do want to do an overnight tramp into Lake Matiri however the CO tells me its regularly full on weekends and with the forecast for this weekend I want a guaranteed bed in a hut tonight so Lake Daniel is a better option. Nice quick find here. Thanks for placing bullertrout#14747
On Sunday Agazo and I hatched a plan to find the 13 newly published caches today.
My passenger once again made the quick grab.

Marchwood and I made plans to be first on these new caches, but got beaten by gkmlb. We already had everything planned and the caches loaded into our GPSr, so we went anyway.
Caching is more of a turn on then a turn off. TFTC.

We woke to a drizzly sort of a day and were getting ready to head to the CITO in Tahunanui when I checked my emails, oh the dilemma - do we go to the CITO or do we go for an adventure to an area I have never been before. As you can tell by this log we chose to head for an adventure.
I learnt at a recent event that there was going to be a trail of caches published in the next few days/weeks and while we usually only find one {FTF} per month and leave the rest for others, a local cacher said that if we travel for the cache then we ought to find all that is on offer, which is what we did today. GK did suggest that we only find a few of them and leave the rest, but I suggested we do like others do and find them all.
I have only been up this valley as far as the submarine rock, GK has been up towards Pete's Hut many years ago when he was scoping out a new hunting area.
We knew exactly where this cache would be and that the parking would be good right alongside the cache. It had been published for a few hours by the time we got here so we were not sure that we would find a blank log, so the anticipation was fairly high as we approached the sign.
We were rather delighted to find a crisp clean log, which we happily added our name to.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the {FTF} smiley (which is always a bigger smiley than a normal traditional smiley)
