A short stop here this evening before camping up for the night north of townTravelling around Victoria with Freddo for a week finding caches as we go. With two challenges on our radar we were in full force. All logs signed with our names or F+g98 for the smaller caches. Thanks for the cache
Heading home from Kaniva after completing the This is SA series and stopped by for this one. This one was sitting out in the open so was an easy find. The area has had a clean up with lots of leaves raked up so I guessing someone found it and left it where they found. I recovered it though just to be sure. Thanks again muff1...maybe keep an eye on this one. Cache condition is all good.
Found with ConnieandRick while travelling to Kaniva. Found after a bit of poking around. My thanks for the cache, muff1.
With Muzza today driving to Kaniva from Melbourne for a group assault on This is SA tomorrow and this was one of a few in Nhill as we reached the end of our trip. It was only about 6 weeks ago when I stood near here waiting for Snips and Co to return her kayak for me to do the Lake cache. It wasn't much warmer today either but at least I was wearing more than a swimming costume today!
Quick find here. Covered the cache with a bit of local camo.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is Saturn's day the fifth day of the octavus month of the Roman calendar in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a bit cooler today. It was so windy today. A few showers. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. 4 October 2024 18:09 We settled into our accommodation now out for a drive around Nhill.dalerious and I were on the road again and this week we were heading to Dimboola and beyond chasing specific caches and D/T attributes of course. We saw these puzzles on the map and they were situated in the Little Desert, how perfect is that.We hadn't done alot of sand driving before, but we were well prepared for the journey and experience. All the tracks were accessible and our vehicle handled the conditions admirably. This area of the State is awesome. This country is awesome. My goodness we live in a beautiful part of the planet. The wildflowers were out on show but strangely not many reptiles. It was on the colder side though, and we did get showers every now and again. We definitely don't need an excuse to visit the Desert country again in the future.
4 October 2024 4:45pmStaying in Nhill overnight, we grabbed this cache at the lake after checking into the nearby hotel. A very pleasant way to cap off a day in the desert. We were originally lured to the border by a string of events and a set of solved "This is SA" puzzles, but having had our first taste of deep sand 4x4 driving, catnap777 and I couldnt resist daring ourselves to delve a little deeper into the desert eventually emerging feeling rather triumphant having not bogged ourselves once. Cache and contents in good condition. [^]TFTC muff1
Great day out on our way back from Melbourne, I couldn't see it but my son nearly stepped on it haha. Has been replaced. Dodgy hand a pencil to sign it
I'm here on a cold windy day but I can imagine how vibrant the area would be in summer
A quick find as it was out in the open. Enjoyed a walk around the lake. Want to come back with my Yak for the island cache! TFTC
Another nicely hidden cache by CO. Found this one a few metres from GZ, but my geocache senses were tingling and I soon had it in my hand. Signed and returned as found.
Well, what a lovely sunny day to be caching in Nhill. Thanks for bringing me here today. My phone was about 3m out today but found the cache using geosences. SL TN LN. Replaced as found.
So excited to finally make a rendezvous with the Little Desert and Nhill. On a multi mission with weirdobiker after the Lameroo Ludicrous Leg Warmers events in SA and now heading back east via a through different LGA's. Its been great exploring the country out west with plenty of highlights to remember. TFTC and the lure.
After being in Lameroo for the annual JLWE event this year with an 80s theme, we are slowly making our way homeOut and about with Ronice88 today to pick up caches her, there and everywhere
Midwinter Melbourne TourDay One: Gumeracha to Melbourne Weather: Some much needed rain, not enough of it. Nhill is currently my cluster of unfound caches, although they wont last long at this rate. I logged five the other day on a separate trip, and logging just this one today while the muggle gets a coffee at the nearby van. Not a quick find for me; my device was leading me to a spot equidistant from a number of hiding possibilities. If youre having the same problem, try heading west a little. A big thank you to muff1 for this and all the caches youve put out. I think that there is significant demand for more caches on the Western Highway west of Horsham. I have a number of caches in various locations in South Australia, but its my letterbox hybrid in Kaniva thats had the most visitors.
13597. Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1215. Had the company of the Co's this morning to supervise us. All quiet on the water today Beautiful site with the Corellas and water birds. Add some stash to build up the container contents.. SL Tnx muff1.
During our trip from Adelaide Hills to Halls Gap and after a nice stroll in the park , we found this cache. Tftc!
I found this geocache during a recent trip, however, for sme reason my log didn't automatically upload from my GPS as it is programmed to.Thanks for your cache hide and the effort that you put into maintaining it,
Found by Aussie Train Driver 28/04/2024, find number 1766.Out of an afternoon stroll before work. This was my final cache for the day and a quick find, fortunately as the mozzies were out in force at GZ! TFTC.
The lake looked full enough though there wrte mosquito warnings. Grabbed the shore trad. The island must wait another day. Thanks muff1Cheers.....
This one took a while as it was very well buried. GPS was giving out weird locations so as previous cacher has said i had to walk away and reset it. Then found it poking around. TFTC
On our second day of our current trip to Adelaide, we headed from Ballarat to Kaniva, caching along the way. This was one of the caches we visited in Nhill. We were pleased to see the new caches published in Nhill since out last visit to the area. Reasonably accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. However there is no way a cacher in a wheel chair can get to GZ completely independently, retrieve the cache from a sitting position, replace the cache and then roll up the steep slope to get back to their transport. The T1 rating is incorrect and needs to be corrected. Thanks muff1 for the cache.
Had to step out to get an accurate GPS reading as it wanted me to search elsewhere. With a more accurate location, l soon found this cache.
Find # 14346I was in the Adelaide area for the Great Leap Forward event. Not just for the days event, but made a week long trip of caching n catching up with mates.Flying solo......Day 9. Homeward-bound, the last stretch. Bordertown to home. A bit of a drive around the Bordertown and Mundulla area in the morning and then in the arvo,a drive around Nhill. Caching along the drive, all while making my way home. Nice quick grab b4 getting wet. TFTC
On our way back to Melbourne after attending the Great Leap Forward Mega. A quick find. TNLN. TFTC.
All the time we have been through here we have never been to the lake. Such a great spot. Thanks for the cache.
Find 4633 on February 28, 2024Day#2 on Fergzters roadtrip to the Great Leap Forward Mega Event in Adelaide. Today's stretch was from Taylor's lake near Horsham towards Adelaide. Nice quick find here. A cool breeze was nice as I am sure it is about to heat up. All is well with the cache. TFTC Lisa.kenny13
I found 8m away from where the coordinates on the app indicated, but much more logical place. Its definitely definitely unsuitable for anyone in a wheelchair to access this cache, more like a T2 terrain. T1 caches are supposed to be suitable for someone in a wheelchair unassisted to retrieve. This cache brought us to a beautiful location.
Stopped here for a bit of morning tea and a smiley. Thanks for the fun! Thanks for the cache muff1
14:19We made a quick visit to Nhill Lake, wondering about the depth, not enough changes of clothes on board today. As a family completed their visit we made a quick find here and kept dry. Trust we picked up the geo-container, it had no ID!Thanks to Lisa.kenny13 for hiding caches in interesting locations. 36563
Found by Mary and David at 15:35. On our way to Adelaide for Leap Day. Thanks for the excuse to revisit this place. We have a cache on the other side of the lake. The corellas gave us a very noisy welcome. Our thanks to Lisa.kenny13.
A very nice quick park and grab.Bang on co ordinates and a great time of day to be here with all the cockies flying around squarking TFTC lovely experience

A few spare days to fill before Christmas so I made the decision to hit the road and go on a road trip from Adelaide to Ballarat. The main purpose of the trip is to tackle the Ballarat Geo Tour before they get archived in February 2024. Day one was hand long drive from Adelaide to Ballarat. Of course I stop off several times to stretch my legs and to grab some caches along the way. I stopped here for some lunch and to check the water level in the lake. The new cache on the island is safe from me today, but this cache was found without problems. Thanks for the cache Lisa.kenny13.# # #13673 # #
PLEASE PLEASE PUT THE CACHE BACK IN ITS PLACE. EVERY CACHE I AM CHECKING IN NHILL IS NOT PUT AWAY OR COVERED.
Starting off my one day in Nhill with a walk through the swamp on the boardwalk and then around the lake. The weather is nice and the scenery is nice so its a perfect place for a walk. After a few minutes of searching around possible hiding spots I located the cache, log signed and replaced as found.Happy to report that the cache is in good condition and the logbook nice and dry.Tftc
What a beautiful lake, looks so much nicer since the big clean out. I look forward to the warmer weather when I can do the Geo out in the middle
We headed to Nhill to complete the new listings since our last visit as we head up north to Rainbow.Unfortunately we didnt have a kayak to complete one cache, we had 2 DNFs and totally overlooked one cache, so in all we will have 4 caches for our next trip.We got the hang of the larger containers but failed miserably on the micros, we think we must need more experience with the COs way of hiding. We watched some kids kayaking on the lake near gz.we were so tempted to ask if we could hire them to gain access to the island cache. LolThanks Lisa.kenny13 for the placement.
**06/11/2023, 08:13:00****Find #5615****Traditional Find #3355**Day number three of our third trip to St. Arnaud. This morning, Steve and I parted company because I needed to get as many LGA's in Western Victoria possible. Not as cold this morning and still the rain is staying away. I had a nice chat with a local who no doubt was wondering what I was doing there at that time of day, but I busied myself taking photos so as to give the impression and I'm an avid photographer. When the coast was clear, I searched with the toe of my boot rather than my hands and soon heard the tell tale sound of hollow plastic. Very happy to have found this cache. **Thank-you to Lisa.kenny13 for placing this geocache**
Stopped at Nhill for the night.Enjoying caching around here during spare time. Thanks for bring me here & cache
##Published - thanks for contributing to Geocaching with this Listing.##*Don't forget that regular visits to check on this cache will keep it healthy as well as keep seekers happy. Be sure to log an Owner Maintenance log each time you visit to check on the cache.*>***The challenge for any Cache Owner is to place the largest possible container . . . . . . . not the smallest.***
"FTF" 10.13amToday another cache has been placed and again we traveled to Nhill to look for the cache. This one was found right where hubby looked due to an obvious item that most geocachers would recognise. SL TFTC
