Our second attempt at this one and we still can't seem to find it! Oh well, maybe third time lucky?...
Today Zozetta and I headed back out towards Tunnack, aiming to find the rest of the devil series and any other caches we could get along the way. We went up through Richmond and Colebrook this time, up to Tunnack, and then through Rhyndaston and back to Colebrook. We ended up finding forty six caches and had one DNF making it a great days caching. A big thank you to Budgietas and all the other COs whose caches we found today. One of five caches in this series that we found today, still one left to get at Woodsdale. We werent sure if we would find this one with the recent DNF, but Zozetta soon found the sneaky hide. Thanks for the cache moisiemo!
Clever little hide, beautiful church, especially looking up at the bells!Sadly no sheep to say hello to.TFTC
Today we further explored our back yard finding caches along the way, and this was one of them.We concentrated on finding the caches that have been published since our last visit. A tricky hide but Mrs "T" came up with the goods. We found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty. Many thanks to the CO for your cache placement.
Had a quick look but it was getting late and we felt a little conspicuous. The light was fading and we certainly didn't want to use a torch. One to come back to another day...
The roofers were very noisy this morning, so to escape the banging and clanging, I went for 'A Nice Drive'. No clanging, no banging, just the birds and wind in the trees. All caches in this series were found today. Thanks moisiemo!
Looked high and looked low but no luck for us here today. Maybe next time. Thanks
Coordinates changed from:S 42 32.114 E 147 21.754Coordinates changed to:S 42 32.116 E 147 21.758Distance from original: 21.7 feet or 6.6 meters. There has been much mention by cachers that the ground was very wet underfoot at GZ. I checked the cache today, and this is true, with no sign really where the water is coming from. So I moved the cache to a drier spot
Having a nice drive up north via the mud walls road and thought Id pop in and get this cache. Ended up in the wrong place (of course) and spotted the cache across the fence. No muggles or disturbances like yesterdays cacher the sheep were quiet only one lone bleat. Signed the log and I was on my way. Looking forwarding to finding the other caches in this series. Thanks.
Arrived back to a dnf from earlier today and found the cache. Got a little wet but otherwise no problems with sheep or ladies feeding them
Well. We arrived to the colebrook market early. So with 20 minutes to spare I thought I would go and find this nearby cache. Not luck to start with and the sleep were bleating non stop. I soon found out why. A lady walked up with a loaf of bread to feed the sheep. She came over to me on the way and asked what I was doing. I said looking for a geocache, its like a treasure hunt. She replied are they the ones with grey wings and red chest? I replied. Yes. She replied there are heaps of them up the hill. Thats the best place to look for them. I walked back to the car and left .. as George Bailey once said. Shoot low sheriff, shes riding a Shetland
I noticed this series when it first came out as it pretty much circumnavigated my shack. But I wanted to wait till i had got my new Prado so I could go for a nice drive and today was the day.Cache was found very quickly a GZ. What a beautiful building.
Easy find but a bit midst underfoot. Very dirty feet for little Miss Cache.
Thanks for the cache moisiemo.B&V took a drive northwards today and this was our first stop. It was nice and sunny, but it was quite wet underfoot around GZ - maybe someone left a tap on up the hill a bit.Took a few minutes, but perseverance paid off, and the little blighter was sighted. Thanks so much.Cheers, EPs.
Hello moisiemo thank you for the cacheMy first find in this series.I have been past this church a few times now and have found a cache here before. This was nice easy find once I was in the right area.Found on Friday, 03 November 2023 at 1707**TFTC**
Parked next to the lovely old church (with 3 bells too)I was looking for well over 5 minutes when i noticed something and it was the cache... ok... there, i wasn't expecting that, sneaky indeed.I'm rapt-as having found all the hides today with no dramas and i thoroughly enjoyed the experience. A nice series on an awesome route with plenty of views and sights. Those Moo-ggles at hide #4 made my day Thanks for a fun series, moisiemo, i loved it.All the hides were fine and dry and in A1 condition (Now it's time for a couple of fried Dimmies and a Dare Iced Coffee or Mocha at the local shop here in Colebrook).(The best 150.0km travelled in ages, today)
We did this series in reverse as we came up from Richmond and looped round, I think there was a couple of times where I was sure i hadn't been on that road before and a couple I was sure I had! Some interesting locations were shared while doing this series, thank you so much. This was a quick trip North to search out a new series that had popped up since I was out this way last.Found on 28/10/2023 at 12:26:00 thanks to moisiemo for placing this cache for me to find. First find after a bit of maintenance around Richmond. It took a little while to spot but I caught it from the right angle. I moved to grab it but couldn't see it so I went back to where I spotted it from and then guided SSR into it.SSR and I decided to do the Nice Drive series today. We're rebels so we did it in reverse order. We've covered much of this area in the past finding various caches but mostly the devil geoart. We sought help (PAF) on one of the caches, but all in all had a good day out. Thanks for the series moisiemo
Wow nice trip to some caches .. today little windy , arrival here short to GZ, easy spot.. signed the log TFTC??
Thanks for this series of caches moisiemo. When I saw them published I thought 'that does look like a nice drive'. Today with the public holiday and the weather being cold and grey and windy, I decided it would be a nice day to take a drive to find some caches - rather than being out in the elements the whole time. The GeoGSP's kept me company in the car, and we listened to an audiobook during our drive - a great way to spend the afternoon.Last stop for the day - saw GZ and thought I could be here for a while and it did take a couple of minutes to spot. Finished the series with 8/8 finds - a great afternoon, and a lovely drive.
We are in the south for a few days to see our daughter after significant surgery. She is in excellent spirits but tires after a short time. So we are having numerous short visits and, of course, we are using the time in between to cache. As she was having work colleagues coming to see her this afternoon, we decided to head to the Coal River Valley area to look for the new caches recently published. This was one of them.We haven't visited this church before. It is certainly a very imposing design and has a unique feature of three bells on the tower. We wondered if they were tuned alike or if they had different resonance frequencies.Despite accurate coordinates, it took a while to locate this cache as it was located in a perspective different to others described as hangers, and it blended very well into the immediate environment. After a few minutes, the cache was located. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks moisiemo for this cache and the series which is taking us on a tour of part of Tasmania we visit infrequently.
*FTF* @ 9.25 amThere were a flurry of new caches published last night and as we were up early we thought we might go for a drive in the country to locate them this morning. We were debating which way to do the series of eight and we decided to go from 1 to 8. As we got higher in the hills the day changed from clear to clearing fog which disappeared to leave a cool morning. This rural drive is always a pleasant trip and today it was broken by the search for caches. Accurate coords but took a while to spot. A beautiful old church. TFTC
