A lovely morning walk around Fairfield before continuing onto work.A series of nice caches to get the brain working.TFTC
Out for a wander around Fairfield today, and headed down along this trail to grab some caches. A nice quick find here, TFTC
Was just driving through the area and spotted a familiar face so stopped for a chat and then decided to grab this cache together as I had missed it last time I was in the area.
Received a text from Grapea. Needed a good reason to get out today- this was it - an opportunity to find some caches. Pretty good afternoon's effort with four caches in the bag. No problem here with Grapea's phone leading us to GZ - 0m.
Another southerly blast predicted to be on its way, it was important to get out and stretch our legs. The series of four caches in this area of Fairfield was perfect for the job. A quick txt to Kerynz and the game was afoot.Four in the bag and it was back to the warmth of home and a coffeeTFTCFind count: 2625
Not sure what Gloria is. After searching a few hint objects I saw the typical giveaway associated with many geocaches and the cache was underneath. Thanks.
On a roadie with Hal2929 today. We are both trying to complete a challenge requiring 100 caches from 100 different cache owners. Not so easy when you live in an area with only a dozen or so goecaching people placing caches. So Hal2929 found a good number of caches that neither of us had previously picked on earlier trips north. Thanks RubydooplusC for placing and maintaining this cache so we could come and find today. Great day out in reasonable weather. We saw lots of amazing views and picked up lots of different CO's caches.
On a roadie with kiscardi getting some caches for a challenge. All good with the cache. Thanks
Found it, after a bit of searching. Kids loved the milk truck. Topped up the swaps too
There are a number of hint objects to choose but coords are accurate and found this one in good condition
Enjoying taking a look at this new track - thanks! The children loved the little milk truck.
End of a hot day going for a walk in this new area. Having been FTF of several GCA caches nearby, we're getting quite familiar with the place. Not far away is a mystery final visitors try to get locals show them where it is before caching the trads in the reserve. Walked down the numbers to the hippo trail leading to the first hint. Look further afield to the other hint and found the small cache. Left the swag in cache returning the small container to the SPOR. Retraced steps back to hippo trail as the more direct route was thwarted by scrub not yet cleared for the new plantings. Still a bit of work on the trails and has now laid bare the exposed fly tipped rubbish the neighbours used to tip over the fence. **2nd** day - **3rd** cache December **Solstice** week souvenir. TFTC
Nice day for a walk along this new track. Cache was quickly found. Thanks for the cache, RubydooplusC#5391 ** Make your way to Dunedin for New Zealands next large multi-day event. GCA7ZHD Geo Toroa will be held on NZs Labour Day long weekend 26-27th October 2024 **
Yay #1 while out on the Wednesday walk. Enjoyed the new track which is paved for the most part, with a thick layer of wood chips. Thanks for placing cache.
We have been here long enough to remember milk being delivered to the front gate, as long as you remembered to put out the empties with the money or tokens.Great path and very public spirited of Fulton Hogan to build it.Easy and quick find by spoonz2.TNLN. TFTC.
Also with the Wednesday walking group on a new pathway. Where I grew up at Brighton, we were just belong the delivery route of the milk truck, so it was my job to take the empty bottles each day down the road to a collection point. (We were also belong the mailman, but luckily the mailman was my uncle so I didn't have to collect the mail). Thanks for placing these caches.
First find of the day, with the walking group. Thanks for bringing our (my) attention to this well-placed and maintained pathway. Of course I'm in the age group that had milk delivered to the gate.
Found on a mini hunt with Sunflowers26. I like this little path, something a bit different and cute - more of these little trails need to exist. We didn't take long to find the cache, and rather enjoyed the contents (especially my inner child). Cheers!
A quick find of a nicely hidden cache on a slight diversion from this nice new track. TFTC
I was the last Milkman to deliver in Fairfield 20 years ago now. Bring back 600ml glass bottles. i have a collection of the bottles that used to have advertising on them. I will find and post a photo.
What a neat path! Found this one pretty quickly thanks to the hint. Aww.. someone's fur baby I assume. Had a wee chat to her while we signed the log.
I nearly got muggles here but all good- dog walkers. TFTC and the helpful hint. This walkway has a very Australian feel - blackwoods, eucalypts and sparse undergrowth. Good to know its here - geocaching is so useful for finding out such things.
I needed to get some work done today and decided Mosgiel library would be the best place to do this. But I've only found 2 caches since I left home on Friday so decided to stop off here for these new ones. I went in through the vegetation for a quick find so only noticed Gloria as I took the easier route out. FTFC and congratulations on your new son RubydooplusC #20,472
Found this path by chance a few weeks ago so knew where it was when the caches popped up - we had even noticed the thing mentioned in the hint when we first walked it. Cache was quickly in hand and on to the next. TFTC.
