Had to drop a family member at the airport, so took the time afterwards to find this cache. No probs with this one.TFTC
A quick find here today, the cache was easily found and is all goodToday after arriving from singapore and with the whole day in Sydney I headed out to find some caches in the area before the afternoon event. Thanks for the cache
If theres an event over here, lets go geocaching nearby. Last of my eleven finds today, stopping just after 2pm. Thats two geocaching hours since 10 am My find count: 2211Another Wherigo ticked off, this being my 25th. Appreciated that this kept it simple without so many screen prompts. For this reason, a favourite point given. Walking, bicycling or driving needed yes. Thanks GeoMonkeyAU
Found with fitzy_1965 on our way to Sydney for a work awards night. With just enough time left to do this Wherigo, we had fun on the tour before making an easy find here today.
Found with minniek during a weekend visit to Sydney.minniek and I are attending a Non-Geocaching Event (a what??) in Sydney this weekend, and we of course grabbed a few caches along the way for International Geocaching Day. We selected a few of the rarer types to fill in a few calendar dates. This looked like a lovely Wherigo to visit, and we weren't disappointed. A fun walk which we had allowed a sufficient time to so before heading off to the hotel. Once we had GZ in hand we made a quick fid. Stamped the log, and replaced as found. Overall a fun cache to do.Thanks GeoMonkeyAU !! Fav Point !
My family and I headed down from Brisbane to Canberra to spend the Easter break visiting relatives living here. The lure of a Mega event in town at the same time was just a coincidence, honestly .After an enjoyable stay, yesterday I commenced the long drive home. For the last two days the news has been reporting an impending severe weather event with rain predicted of biblical proportions. I left Canberra in spitting rain, but it soon stopped and under overcast skies I continued caching my way up to Goulburn, making the most of the relatively good weather. Upon arrival in Goulburn the weather took a turn for the worst with rain beginning to fall again. Eventually it became too heavy to cache in comfortably so I jumped back in the car for the drive towards Sydney where I retired for the night to avoid the downpour. So glad I stopped rather than trying to keep on driving home through the deluge. Heading off this morning there was evidence of many flooded roads, with lots of standing water and partial road closures still in existence. Good thing for having the zip ties at GZ, because this location appears to be where the water run-off flowed through, at quite some pace judging by the debris downhill. As a result the logbook was safe and sound and I had no problem adding my name to the list of finders. TFTC
#10299 (8 of 11 today)Its every catchers favourite day of the year - well every four years anyways - February 29. Decided Id try to up my most different cache types found in a day, and this time there is a WhereIGo close enough to attempt.Started early with an Earthcache before heading south to an Event. Then onwards. In the end I found 10 different cache types and eleven caches overall. I had hoped to finish with a second event, but my last traditional find took far too long.Overall, however, a top day.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###And here is the cache type I couldnt get last Leap Day.Would have been better if Id done this in the cool of the morning rather than after midday. Some interesting spots visited before I was led to GZ.Made a quick find in a logical spot before heading off to my next target.Gets a favourite if for no other reason to say thank you for creating a new WIG.SLTNLN TFTC
Walking walking very hot.Found with Baktrak and geodog.Interesting history and cache thanks GeoMonkeyAU
Found with MummyPenny on our leap day caching expedition. Quite a bit of Bexley to cover and I was glad we'd done the legwork earlier and at a cooler hour. Thanks GeoMonkeyAU.
The cache circle that I can comfortably get in lunchtime in Sydney is growing wider- I managed to get to this one via the motorway today. I drove around the locations- some were a short walk, some I could do from the car. Then after the final was obtained it was another short drive and a quick find at GZ. Thanks for the tour. TFTC!
Found It!This was mostly a driving tour of Bexley North for me. But there was some walking bits to. Visited all the stages and then off to the final location where I found the cache after a short search!TFTC
Have been living in Europe for the last 30 after growing up in Australia and living in Bexley North for 5 of those years. Back on a visit came to show my son the park where i played many times as a kid. This cache was the main purpose of our morning stroll and was a good way to show my son Bexley North. Also good for me as it took me to some places that i had never been to even though i lived here for a while. At GZ it was quickly found.A favorite for me as it was a stroll down memory lane.TFTC
A very unique wherigo, needed a PAF, as I had issues with the entering cartridge completion number into the app, thanks for the hide
Straightforward wherigo experience here. Quick find at GZ after approaching from the right side.Found with Loci612 during a Sydney weekend trip! TFTC
This cache jumped out at me when I saw the type & the terrain! Even better was that it is just off the main road that heads out of Sydney back to Canberra, so a no-brainer to come and find it! Great to see it is hidden by a geocacher we met yesterday too, thanks for adding something interesting worth detouring for! Excellent description write-up, and cartridge creation. Really impressive for a younger geocacher to set something up like this, so thank you! A nice idea for a tour as wellFound with Muppet95 during a Sydney weekend trip!TFTC GMAU
A fun WherIGo culminating in a quick find. Thanks for showing me around. TFTC.
A nice cartridge I completed a while ago. Came to collect today and it was a bird graveyard here! A dead magpie and lorikeet within 15 meters of eachother! Anyways a good cache here. TFTC
After a nice drive/wander around Bexley, I found the cache in a nice quiet park. Now off to fill the tank with cheap(er) petrol, and grab a kebab or pide for late lunch. TFTC
My first ever [FTF] on a wherigo. I was surprised to see that 2 wherigos were published overnight and this one was relatively close to home. It was dark and raining , so decided to hold off until the morning. And to think I was only over Mosman way twice already this week. My petrol bill is going through the roof! After Dolls Point parkrun, I made my way to Bexley North, zig-zagging the Saturday morning traffic. Why aren't they all at home on the weekend after a busy week at work? It was good to revisit some familiar locations through previously found geocaches and having grown up not too far away on the northern side of the rail corridor. Off to GZ, for a quick find once the GPS settled. I followed the order to replace with camo (lots of leaves around from the frangipani) and then home for some breakfast. Congratulations on your first wherigo, but it does look somewhat similar to the other one at Mosman! Is there some sort of conspiracy going on here between the younger cachers in the community? TFTCPS: It's called a cul-de-sac or a dead end street when I was a kid?
