Solved this one before coming down here, a nice drive up to GZ, you can see for ages here. Cache is all goodThis weekend Courtneyrose_ and I headed to Mount Gambier for Morgo the Geos 500th Parkrun. Today being solo heading home I made my way from Millicent to Adelaide finding unfound caches around the SE. Thanks for the cache
It was a bit wet on the track but not a problem with 35s on. Always love it up here. Good reception too!A fun loop around the south east and beyond with deanside. Good to meet a couple of other geocachers over the last few days.| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Thanks GoShaz and clear skies from TeamAstro. Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Staying in Millicent for a few days to grab some finds placed for the ill fated Mega because of Covid. Solved prior to our visit. Thanks for the hide. LNCU
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are staying at Millicent for the week, finding some of the caches we should have found if we had not been prevented from attending the 2020 Mega by Covid19. Thanks for the cache. LNCU.
22/06/2024 3:51:00 PMGreat views from GZ, solved it the day it was published but never seemed to get up when caching over this part of the planet, I made sure it was on the to-do list today. I haven't been up here for about 5 years and the it certainly looks different with the forests felled. Thanks GoShaz for placing and maintaing this game piece for our enjoymentFind recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK
Solved by a JAMS member ( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, Mitchell&hound and sir_spectre ) Quick find.Found with Mogni. I think this is the most changed trip in the planning stage that i have ever been on. The " original trip " was supposed to start on the 31st of dec but at the start of December life changed and the trip was now starting on the 26th of December and all accommodation that had booked cancelled and now see what else is free on the earlier dates. A major readjust of plans and got 1/2 the trip booked before the next curve ball came in to alter the plans again. More adjusting the plans again and i realized i could host 2 CITO's in 2 different LGA's in Victoria. What we do to qualify for Victorian challenge caches. Also i got my 20, 000 cache over in Victoria in this trip. It was decided in the end that the 4x4 was going to be the vehicle for this trip that way we could go and target all the caches that you never get, the ones down the sandy/rocky/dirt and forestry roads/tracks. We left Adelaide and headed to Casterton for a couple of days, then to Budj Bim National Park ( and saw 5 koalas in the camp ground high up in the trees ), then over Heywood, a night in Mount Gambier plus there attended the 3rd CITO of the trip before sending a few nights in Millicent and then finally home. Over 250 caches found plus 86 lab caches. Mogni also got her 11th D/T loop. I also got 3 more Victorian LGA's up to 20 finds minimum for another Victorian challenge cache. If the cache was broken/eaten/smashed it was replaced with a new container and if the log sheet was wet it was replaced and if the log was full or almost full extra log sheets were added to the cache.
Christmas holidays means caching trip with sir_spectre. This year we managed to attend 3 CITO's, claim 2 FTF's, visit lots of Adventure Labs and claim many smilies.Caches that needed some love got it, and we might of even hidden a few too.As a bonus I got to catch up with my family and some friends along the way. Thanks to GoShaz from mogni .
It took me a while to receiver the old way. But once remembered I wondered how we ever did it that way. Oh how far weve come. Great views at GZ. TFTC
Too many options regarding old ways for me to come to grips with this puzzle. After getting a push in the right direction I managed to find a code solving page that helped immensely even with it failing on some words. Fortunately it did manage to decode the coordinates and that was all I needed.Piloted the old Camry up to the cache and spent some time looking at the view with my binoculars and seeing as it was joint FTF I will claim silver. Evidence of recent track repairs on the route I departed so I think I followed the same way as the previous finders.
scramping messaged me, saying, "I have solved the puzzle. Do you want to get an FTF with me?" Definitely, as I was coming to Millicent for the show with her.I drove us out to GZ where the views are amazing now the big pine trees are gone and lots of little pines have replaced them. You can see the ocean and the windmills. We spotted the cache soon after arriving at 4:42pm for our FTF.After doing a quick CITO and some photos, we left via the rutted track for a bit of an adventure.TFTC GoShaz
[FTF] 4.42PM. Solved the puzzle last night and contacted hevwalker this morning..."FTF up for grabs ...lets go before we go to the show". Ftf was still up for grabs this arvo so off we went. What a fantastic view. TfTC
