Sadly the cache went missing and at present I am unable to replace or maintain the cache.
Went to check on this today as previous cacher mentioned it had been tampered with. Was going to replace log book but cache has now gone. Will see if I can find it or try for a replacement cache.
First time that happens to me: waiting for muggles to get away so I can put it in place ! Nice log book! Thanks
On our long term trip from Germany to Western Australia / Tasmania / New Zealand for about 3,5 month, we drove trough NZ and picked up some cachesThis one was a quick found. TFTC
Miss 17 doesn't really like flying, so after she did a whirlwind trip with her friend around parts of the South Island, she asked if I would drive from Christchurch to Dunedin to pick her up. She paid for petrol and accommodation, and said I could cache the whole way! Of course, I said. Cause what Geocachers wouldn't??A quick find at GZ in between muggle invasions. Nice hiding spot. Took some photos of the GeoBear (attached) then on our way to find some caffeine before carrying on home to Christchurch. Thanks for the cache.
A summertime trip to the South Island, what could be better. Having flown to Christchurch and then driven to Timaru yesterday, today I was out with one of my favourite Geocaching teams in the morning, and then running around by myself this afternoon. My travels tomorrow have me back up to Christchurch for a night to see a band play, and then up to Kaikoura for a couple of nights to see the same band play again. Along the way I'll be looking for Geocaches, and here's one I found. No problems here --- Thanks to taurus48 for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues. Thank you for this cache, taurus48. I needed to be in Timaru today & I also needed to find a cache placed in 10/2023 - so I was happily able to do both things. Happy New Year to all; keep on caching.
Great hide, nice easy stroll from Caroline Bay. Shame the sun hasn't come out to play!
Found with StreetWalkerNZ en route from Christchurch to Dunedin. If was very warm when we left CHCH, but the temperatures starting dropping the further south we travelled and there was a bit of a cool wind here in Timaru.SW had found the cache on a solo trip last month so I was keen to turn this into a smile as well. There were a few muggles around but it was an easy find (actually SW retrieved it for me). Good views from here. TFTC.
I have been to this area numerous times searching previously and as always the views are really enjoyable.Thankserninz
What a great day out and about in the area caching, most of the day was fine untill a heavy rain shower for about 30min, Many Thanaks to all the cache placers. - Bitsprayer
Easy find, nice views! Stopped by here on the way to Lake Tekapo and decided to check if any caches are hidden here, lo and behold there are! TFTC
I walked the full length of Caroline Bay beach to reach this cache. After a clamber up over some rocks I learnt of the tragedy that happened here back in May 1882. Thanks for your first placement taurus48.
Auf unserer heutigen Reise hier vorbei gekommen und den Cache ohne Probleme gefunden.
After years on our bucket list and three cancellations due to Covid, we are thrilled to finally be here. Following several cruises we flew from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, New Zealand to begin our next adventure. Picked up our rental vehicle and will be driving, exploring, hiking, and caching both islands for 3.5 weeks. We found the cache and a painted rock. Added our ink to the log and left the painted rock behind for the next visitor. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl, Arkansas, USA
#23247. Was keen on a few finds while heading south. This one popped up just down the road from our Labour Weekend accommodation not long after we headed home. Cold southerly today, so was pleased to make a pretty quick find. TFTC.
An easy find before a group of muggles appeared. A great view although there was a cold breeze blowing off the sea. TFTC
Awesome view from GZ!! TFTC. Probably our last of the half day in Timaru. Visiting from Washington State, U.S.A on the ms Noordam.
Nice location. Enjoying the shade of the nearby tree while visiting here (visiting from Seattle and I definitely got sunburned today ). We got a workout walking from Speight's Ale House to here. We need it! Thank you for the hide.
Neat cache with beautiful view over the bay - the colour of the water blows me away whenever I see it. Interesting and sobering to read about the ship disaster. Admire the relocated lighthouse - very striking with its red door! Thanks, great place for stashing your first cache!
Congratulations on your first cache placement, co ords were spot on. Bay is sparkling early this morning, such a peaceful place to visit when no one else is around. Welcome to Timaru i hope you enjoy your new life here
