Thank you for hosting this geocaching Event! The date of the Event has passed. We automatically archive Events after 30 days (60 days for Mega- and Giga-Events). Attendees can still log archived Events, log trackables, and share their experiences.
Many thanks sqwash for hosting and catering for this event. We enjoyed catching up with everyone. Nice to see some new faces too.
It was great catching up to fellow geocachers I had met on my previous visit to Tasmania. I nearly grabbed a tasty looking jelly slice near the BBQ area but turned out it was a birthday party for a little 1 year old and not this event ??Thank you for the snags, salad and cake ?? TFTE sqwashKeep smiling ??
What a wonderful event with so many new faces for me, mind you there was a few of the old hands out and about too today. It was nice to have a chat with everyone and have some nice snags for lunch followed by swish roll for afters! One surprise was Alby turning up from my neck of the woods. Thanks sqwash for the event.A bit of a different day today with me spending 6 hours in the car and finding a few caches after a parkrun, hold on that just sounds like most Saturdays!Found on 09/12/2023 at 12:30:00 thanks to sqwash for placing this cache for me to find. Hello sqwash thank you for the eventI didn't know if I was going to able to make it today but I was lucky to able to make it.As you know I was very late but was very grateful of the event. It was lovely to meet some more caches.Attended on Saturday, 09 December 2023 at 1230**TFTE**
We caught the tail end as we drove past, we are locals but were heading to mole creek caves today.
I'm hoping to get there, maybe a bit late.As I'm a maybe don't worry about food for me.
Thank you to sqwash for holding this geoXmas Bash and organising the food and cooking the bbq. Big black clouds threatened but although it was a bit fresh no rain fell. We met up with some cachers we'd seen at previous events but it's always good to meet new ones too
Thankyou all for the event today! Was wonderful to meet all of you, especially those who travelled such distances. Weather held off too which was great. Minisqwash had a great time too. Thank you all and Merry Xmas to all.
As heavy rain fell last night, we were a little apprehensive about what we might encounter today. We were surprised that there was no rain this morning and that the roads were dry - it was overcast but the clouds were high. So we setoff (in two cars) early this morning intending to leave one car in Launceston and then driving up Mt Barrow to complete two caches, one of which we needed to fill a gap in a calendar. We were able to complete these two caches and got back to the suburbs of Launceston in good time. Mrs y'stassie then took the other car to head off to Port Sorell for one of the highlights of the embroidery year - the Christmas Lunch.Mr y'stassie came onto this event, arriving only about 10 minutes late. It was great to catch up with sqwash, minisqwash, some cachers we have not met before and some familiar faces. It is a pleasure to have Jolly0 back in Tassie again - never a dull moment with Jen in the area. It was unfortunate that Zac_and_Martin_Chugg had contracted Covid and were unable to attend - neither of us had met them before and were looking forward to one of us doing so today. There was a very good atmosphere at this event with a great deal of sharing of information, caching and otherwise. Sincere thanks sqwash for organising the event at a good venue and for the food.
Im planning on coming and bringing my smile. One happy camper to attend.Keep smiling
Foods sorted, think Bunnings BBQ with a side of salad and cake. Weather looks clear in morning but like it could turn drizzly late afternoon. Look forward to meeting you all.
I so wanted to come but Miss E was devastated when I said I would miss her dance concert because of a geocaching event. A tough choice to make but it should be family first, and a few days later when I told her I would come to her dancing, and not the caching event, she was dancing around the house all smiles. I know in my heart I have made the right decision.Have a fun event Ho Ho Ho!
Looking like we will have around 15 people in attendance. Looking forward to it.Remember BYO drinks, and let me know if any dietary requirements
I'll be there but think i will be late as I normally do a parkrun on Saturday morning and wouldn't mind fitting one it too.
Count me in unless its pouring with rain. Thanks for organising and happy to contribute food if needed.
