Logs
this was my first for today, having a small geomobile let me sneak up to this cache, tftc
Out for walk after watching the rugby, weather a bit damp but caching is brightening it up.A couple of people out swimming in the harbour.TFTC
Just two weeks after coming this way for Mega I'm back again. This time for a meeting for Scouts. Parked a little further away as I had a target for a missing month placed cache loaded into Mrs Google. Surprisingly the month this cache was placed is also a more recent missing month, so is on my targets for today. Quick find, and managed not to have any busses go by. As mentioned, there is water in the bag, but log is mostly dry. Looks like they might be painting the white house. Thanks for the cache MacBayMeri# 4071 8 November 2024 4:23 pm
We are now in Dunedin on our trip. It is very beautiful here with many great buildings. We enjoy the surroundings and the great views.Today the weather is fantastic and we decide to take a leisurely drive along the coast of the peninsula. We hope to see some albatross and seals.Of course, the Labcaches Tradis Virtuals and Earthcaches are also searched for and logged. Many thanks to all owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi from Germany
Down in Dunedin for the Mega. Great to be back for another Mega 12 years after NZ's first Mega here in 2012. Finding a few caches with Boxhill and having a few laughs on the way. Thanks to the team for putting on a great Mega weekend, and also to all the COs for placing and maintaining the caches.TFTC MacBayMeri
My first Mega in the 3080 days since I began caching in 2016. Missed out on my first one in Auckland due to covid. And my 2nd will be in Rotovegas next year. A drizzly day, I don't like copy and pasting, but I think it's a case of having to this weekend. Guwapo is the driver, and I'm telling him where to go. Pleased rain isn't too heavy at the moment.
HS and I had traveled down to attend the mega. We flew in yesterday and picked up a rental car. Well I hopped out of the car and discovered a flat tyre. Needless to say a simple park and grab turned out to be a 3 hour stopover! So time to get these caches while waiting for roadside assistance to come to our aid. Tftc.
Day ten of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris. We have at last arrived in Dunedin. We spent today riding the Otago Vine clockwise, collecting caches as we came across them.Stopped at Port Chalmers for lunch then caught the ferry to Portobello.Mostly a nice day except for a bit of rain just out of Portobello (but we soon dried off).Interesting clue, I guessed what it meant. Some interesting properties around here. Thanks, Robmc.
Day 10 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc. We arrived in Dunedin yesterday and today we hired bikes to ride the Otago Vine including a ferry ride across the bay.We managed to collect a lot of the puzzles we had prepared for and I think we only had a couple of DNFs. It rained, the sun shone, the wind blew, it was calm - the whole gamut really. Thanks for contributing to the fun MacBayMeri
Found with NZDi on our southern adventure heading towards the Geo Toroa. Our schedule didn't have us arriving in Dunedin until Thursday, but a quicker than expected trip through The Catlins meant we are here earlier than expected. Today is our 41st wedding anniversary, so we started the day off with breakfast at the Vogel Street Cafe which we totally recommend. After that NZDi wanted to visit the Botanical Gardens where we picked up a couple of caches. Then we headed out to Toroa Head to see if we could see an albatross or two. On the way we picked up a couple of caches, but soon realised, if we stopped for them all, we would never get to the albatross colony. This was the first of two we limited ourselves to.An interesting story about Dunedin's early history.TFTC MacBayMeri
Came for the trackable but unfortunately seems it isn't here. Road closed after the flooding so walked around from the sea scouts. TFTC.
Appreciate the historical background! Signed off going home tonight, late enough to avoid the post-rugby crowds but before midnight (crucial for a dot day!).
Very out in the open this one! But you know what they say the best spot to hide in is. TFTC
Trapper4ever from Whangrei was here on Saturday the first of June twenty twenty four at ten twenty eight am.
Out on a leisurely ride to Mac Bay for lunch and gathering some caches along the way. This was an easy find as there are not too many options.TNLN. TFTC.
On a roadie with Hal2929 today. We are both trying to complete a challenge requiring 100 caches from 100 different cache owners. Not so easy when you live in an area with only a dozen or so goecaching people placing caches. So Hal2929 found a good number of caches that neither of us had previously picked on earlier trips north. Thanks MacBayMeri for placing and maintaining this cache so we could come and find today. Great day out in reasonable weather. We saw lots of amazing views and picked up lots of different CO's caches.
On a roadie with kiscardi getting some caches for a challenge. A quick find. Thanks
We made a bee line for this cache today while in Dunedin as it was going to help with the completion of one of our find challenges. Quickly located in the pouring rain; we think the workers nearby thought we were nuts! TFTC
Its a bit windy here today but I wanted to find a trad on a Tuesday so here I am. TFTC. The TB is gone unfortunately.
We started off looking in the bushes then scratched that idea and found it straight away! TFTC
Out on a cyclocache ride up the cyclepath from Andersons Bay to Portobello and back. Love it when the first cache attempted is a find. [^] TFTC.
Just on dusk, wandered down and sat on the seat with my coffee. Quick find, and interesting history. TFTC.
Had a great day today cycling from Tunnel Beach all the way up to Larnach Castle. Picked up many caches along the way.Quick find at gz, tftc!
Outnabout off a cruise ship. Hired bikes to do some caching. Great fun. TFTC
Out for a NY bike ride with HRDentist, a nice quick find while we stretch our legs. TFTC
Found it on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Left a travel bug who wants to set off on a journey across the world to the UK - if anyone can help Bertie and Balthazar the Blue Penguins move on to somewhere equally beautiful, that would be brilliant! TFTC and the starting point for penguin adventures.
2023 was one of our most disappointing years (since 2007) for caching. The year seemed to be filled with other things, leaving little time for the simple pleasure that is Geocaching. So on the last day of the year we set out to renew our interest in the sport by looking for caches on Otago Peninsula. Pleased to say we found this one. TFTCFind count: 2558
A regular walk around the harbour and never had time to sit on the bench. Looking up at the the White House is a bit of an eyesore. Walking up the footpath from the bus shelter is treacherous on Wintery days and looking down into the overgrowth is best avoided in case one of the toys in the windows winks back. At least Invercargill's white house is open to the public again and always free; I only needed to see the castle once. Checking on the two 400ml caches returned to the reflective mystery final heaps of peeps had been dual logging GZ's 10mt apart is now under it's dry roof. Detoured over to the lamented cache up Arthur's walk where the multi didn't last the distance; you can look across at the squatter tending to his roof top garden under the Kauri flagstaff. Found the micro and signed log. Taking some time to fit the large micro back in it's possie after a pack of dawgie walkers went out of view. **1st** day - **2nd** cache December **Solstice** week souvenir. TFTC
A quick easy find, near a building with which we have been familiar for many years. TFTC
Driving past, I had often wondered about this buildings history. Thanks for providing this and as always, thanks for the cache, MacBayMeri#5377 ** Make your way to Dunedin for New Zealands next large multi-day event. GCA7ZHD Geo Toroa will be held on NZs Labour Day long weekend 26-27th October 2024 **
P & Vee was still at the cache when we arrived! I probably knew about the history of the house but had forgotten it so good to be reminded of it. TFTC.
Found with dad. Nice to meet P&Vee. Leaving home to head to the cache I was dragging the chain a bit and dad said that if we missed the FTF by a couple of minutes I'd never hear the end of it. We missed the FTF by a couple of minutes......TFTC
FTF at 2.12pm. Housework done time for some caching.thanks for great instructions just a pity about wind. While sitting logging the find along came U.N.C.L.E and Napoleon Solo, it was nice to finally meet them both and have a chat.
