Logs
Had some time this morning before work and saw these two in a convenient spot. Tftc.
10:33hrs. After reading a previous log, i though i had to walk along the roadside . However continued on the footpath. Approached the wall and could clearly see the cache. It was accessible from safe side of the fence. Replaced as found. TFTC
Found It!Had a quick read of the logs and picked the correct side of the wall to walk along. Then it didn't take long to find it once I got to GZ.TFTC
We are on another short (three day) caching holiday in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains, staying for two nights in a park cabin at the Ingenia Nepean River BIG4 Holiday Park at Emu Plains. Hoping to collect the new Adventure Labs, Letterbox, Traditional, and Puzzle/Mystery caches that have appeared around Penrith & surrounds since our last visit to the area back in May 2023. Will also be returning to the lower Blue Mountains for some new caches and to attend a Winter Solstice Event at Mount Riverview, and a Post Winter Solstice CITO Event the following day at Cranebrook. Photos will be uploaded to logs on our return to home base. This was the 11th of 21 finds for the day (day 2), and 22nd find of the holiday. This one was next. Parked the geomobile at the start of Ironbark Drive, then ducked around to the cache location. Was initially on the wrong side, so had to backtrack and then around to the correct side for a nice quick find on arrival at GZ. TNLNSL, then replaced as found. Dark blue or dark grey, we couldn't decide, it could be seen as either. TFTC gavingo4.Find #6872
Good easy find, only tricky part is working out what side of the fence it's on but you'll eventually get it
That how I like a log to be fresh and minty! Was a bit puzzled until I realised I needed to think outside the square Thanksgavingo4
Went to do a cache check after a dnf and no finds since replacing in January. The cache was still in place with a blank log. Just in general, at no point in the cache description or attributes was a special tool mentioned (this is a 1.5/1.5), and please read the hint, at no point were fence caps mentioned, in fact the description of the cache specifically refers to the wall, not residential fences.
We went to the only post with no cap with a rather strong magnet and found nothing, we had also roamed around the wall and found no other areas where it could possible be and failed to find anything else other than a few holes in the wall and some broken posts.
cache was missing, replaced with rare earth magnets (thankyou rainbow spirit for the suggestion).
Came looking with WaywardWoman who had previously found it. Looked both road side and pathside (preferred), but no luck.
On a mission to find a cache a day this year, well, maybe this monthFound this nice little minty fresh cache fairly easily on a humid afternoonTftc
Walked the wrong side of the fence but swung around and found it on the reverse side
Heading north from the M4 I stopped in Cranebrook for these new caches, although I nearly missed the turnoff as it came up much sooner than I expected. The colour - OK, having recently built a house and spent quite some time discussing the style and colour of the roof tiles I can tell you that this wall is definitely classified as GREY. Depending on what style of tile you choose you will find the colour is called Gunmetal Grey in most ranges although in a couple the same colour is called Twilight. It is supposed to be a better colour for keeping the heat in for winter. What about the heat of summer?? Well the construction industry has recently passed legislation to ban dark rooves as they are adding to the planets heat levels. So very soon (not sure 2024 or 25) you will no longer be able to use this colour, or any other dark shade, but will have to select white or cream shades, which are better for reflecting the heat and so cooler in summer.Anyway I was lucky and chose the correct side of the wall to walk and spied the cache when I reached the right mark. Signed the log and walked back. Yes it is hotter walking beside this colour!TFTC # 5729
The wall definitely looks like a dark shade of blue.Tricked us for a while, but then we found it where we expected it to be.TFTC
Frazeydaze and I stopped off to grab a handful of caches on our way to Blackheath for the Christmas break. TFTC
Slight detour on our way to Blackheath.Started looking in the wrong place. Turned around, and there it was.TFTC gavingo4
Shame it wasn't on the invisible side of the wall to traffic. I think it might be losing its magnetism as it was completely visible on approach and wasn't sticking to well when I put it back. TFTC
With appointments in St Marys and Kingswood, we decided to do some caching in the area, together with ilook4geo, while on the way home. This was a quick and easy find but we started looking from the wrong side first (of course). Thanks for this cache placement go to gavingo4.
Was near this area with goingplaces2 so added this one to our activities for the day. Found it and signed the log. TFTC.
Streak Day #3791 - Out with Dave8153 and stopped by for a quick find for our cache of the day. TFTC
27 November 2023This is find number: 8978Streak Day: 2902Found Today with Snoopy1976, a quick and easy find. ThanksThanks to gavingo4 for placing and maintaining this cache. TFTC
Dark grey for me,This cache really needs a rare earth magnet, one about the size of a 10c coin would do, you can get them from sites like eBay. Thanks for the hide
Very quick and easy cache. Looked on the wrong side at first, very cool!TFTC!
interesting question - I reckon dark grey as its deafening on both counts! Found this CIH with two nearby geocachers as a joint [FTF] with Gatherer Hade. And Yoteam happy to be STF (2nd). With TBs Canadian Flag, Swiss Duck, Pittiplatsch and Corona Express Cruise Ship in tow.
#10026 (1 of 2 today)Was after one or two finds today, and initially my eyes lit on the pair of *Filling Jordan Springs* hides. But on firing up Cachly, one cache near them was indicated as still having First2Find up for grabs. Well, why not? Got that, as a joint First, then relocated slightly for a second find before heading to Penrith for a bit of lunch.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###Arrived here to find **SurdiVisio** already on the hunt - good to meet you. but no find as yet. We pondered the published coords with nothing obvious nearby and then I remembered the cache name and suggested a different search area. We split up and my companion didn't take long to turn up the hide.Joint *FTF* @ 12:40 with **SurdiVisio**.Just as the find was made **YoTeam** arrived on the scene - good to meet you too. We were happy to share First2Find with him as the container hadn't even been opened yet, but he declined, having not been part of the hunt.My gel pen seemed to like the paper better than the ordinary biros of the others. We all signed the log, it was replaced and we went our separate ways. There was enough in the listing to get us the prize today, but for future reference, my iPhone preferred S 033 43.864' E 150 43.118'.And I'm thinking a darker Steel Blue...SLTNLNTFTC
Thought Id make a quick trip out of work at lunch time to snag a FTF, but was surprised to see the spot already crowded with SurdiVisio & Gatherer Hade pulling the cache out as I arrived. Oh well, nothing wrong with a runner up position. TFTC!
