Enjoyed the forest drive with goingplaces2 and finding the caches along the way. Have not been to many of these places yet, but we can always hope. TFTC.

Most of these Must See Places are overseas, but we have seen the Aussie ones. Logs were signed, but we found some of the containers could not be opened. Maybe one day we will get to see more of the chosen places. Thanks for these placements go to Sol de lune.

Today we've returned to try to complete this series, we found all but one (number 27), others have been finding it but the undergrowth defeated us. Most were fairly quick finds with a couple requiring a bit more of a search. We've really enjoyed this series as we're always more comfortable with bush caching away from prying eyes. Unlikely that we'll ever visit this place but TFTC

I have been to Rome on a couple of occasions and visited all of the well known landmarks. On my last visit I flew to Rome from Dublin and caught a train from the airport to central Rome. When I tried to get a taxi to my hotel a train station employee directed me to a car and the driver wanted 100 Euro for the fare claiming it was a long trip and traffic was bad. I wasn't having that so I wandered around until I saw a taxi. He took me to my hotel and the fare was 18 Euro. When he was getting my 2 Euro change I couldn't say quickly enough No No that's yours. Cache was found in good condition.

This series is the stuff of dreams really. I happened to watch a program about ancient Rome on tv last night, its definitely on the list for me. I ran an event this morning in Castlemaine, the weather looked pretty ordinary and i wasnt sure if i would spend the rest of the day caching or head home afterwards. However, by the time i was leaving, the clouds had lightened and the conversations had fired me up so i decided to head to Creswick. The last time i was in this area i had started the 50 Must See Places series and hopefully i will be able to complete the rest of them today. 20th of 50 Must See Places - ROME is find number 3,798 for me. A fun small sized traditional cache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in . I am logging this one on Saturday 31 Aug 2024 at 1:53 pm and the weather is Broken Clouds 13C 73% 4 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy Sol de lune.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

When the 50 Must See Places series was published, it was immediately placed on our "must do" list. We had intended to attempt the series in March this year but an unexpected change to our travel plans meant that we had to leave our visit to our current return trip for Adelaide to Tassie. Today we visited the area and over a period of about five hours, we visited all cache locations - we found 49 of them but missed one (Zanzibar). There was a second that we didn't find at our first attempt but a message from the CO that the coordinates had been updated a couple of months ago (and we had the old ones) enabled us to find that cache. We enjoyed the series - we much prefer to cache in bush settings rather than urban environments. In most instances, each cache was found after a short search and was found in good condition. We found a variety of container types and sizes. There were, however, a number of logbooks that were slightly damp but still usable - a brief period of summer weather will dry them completely. Although there had been recent rain, the roads were in good condition and our AWD Forrester handled them easily. Any variations to these generalised statements are highlighted below. Thanks Sol de Lune for this very enjoyable series - greatly appreciated.ROME - still on our bucket list.

Didnt have to rome around too much to find this one. Out on a rainy day. Pulled up at the first of the trail and it poured down. Waited for the rain to slow then a quick find. Continued along the trail racing to beat the weather. Almost made it getting rained on at the last couple. Didnt see anyone else along the way, maybe we were the only mad ones out in this crazy weather! TFTC

After the CITO left us in such a convenient spot, I joined forces with RoamingHowie, Phetlern and Team Crackers in completing some more of this series. Most were found easily, but a few took a bit longer. You get used to finding a certainly type of cache and hide, and when that alters it throws you for a while. Thanks for this series, Robmc.

18-Feb-24
After attending the "Creswick Forest CITO" along with fellow geocachers from near and far, the idea of a whirlwind world tour of "Must See Places" was proposed.Together with, Robmc, Roaming Howie and Team Crackers, we set off on our world tour. (For economy of log space & time we signed as Post CITOs) The information about each of the places was intriguing as we drove from place to place. The series brought back memories of places we have actually been fortunate enough to visit. Thanks to Sol de lune for creating this fascinating list!. 36503

18-Feb-24
It was the day to farewell the Ballarat GeoTour. After completing the CITO, I teamed up with Robmc, Phetlern and Team Crackers to complete some more of the 50 places series. To avoid clogging up the tracks, we piled into two vehicles and attempted to get through as many as we could before I had to leave for the Farewell event. We logged the caches as the Post CITO gang. This is one of the places I have been privileged to visit. Thanks Sol de lune for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. -The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Be sure to find all the caches and earn the souvenir before the tour is archived. The [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour Event - GCAFQ8B](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) is on 18 February 2024.Are you ready to nominate in the 2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards? Start preparing by checking out the 2023 geocaching lists available [here](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/) and find some of the new caches ahead of nominations opening.

We were in Ballarat this weekend to join in the fun of all the events being held. After the Cito which was not far from this series we joined forces with Phetlern, our chauffeurs for the morning, Robmc and Roaming Howie to try our luck.Happily all caches were located quickly but some did take awhile longer. If we were a bit younger and a lot more wealthy there was not one location on this list we would not like to visitRome isn't high on our list. Many thanks Sol de lune for all the effort gone into this really enjoyable trail and the cache

With so many events on and good company, GT37 and I met up with OHC at Slaty Creek. After setting up camp, we all jumped into Gertie and set of to make a start of this new (to us) series. We had a great time and had fun guessing what the next destination was going to be. Can't say that I have been many if any. We will see when we complete the series what my count is. Nope 19, Yes 1.Thank you for placing this series for us to enjoy.

Chook joined forces with The Tritonz and wozzle68 today for a very full day of caching, fun and laughter. After doing the letterbox trails this morning, we headed out for another lovely walk through the Le Gerche Forest, finding a few more caches, before finishing off with some more of the 50 Must See Places series.Rome ... maybe on a Europe trip for sure.TFTC and series Sol de lune.

16-Feb-24
It was planned to visit Creswick today with chooknchunk and wozzle68 while in Ballarat for the smorgasbord of events this weekend. With so many new caches in the area of late we were spoiled for choices. After completing the letterbox and AFL series before lunch we are now hitting up the 50 Must See Places the CO has kindly put out for us and others to enjoy. The day is heating up but we are enjoying the caches and the camaraderie while seeking each hide out. Thanks Sol de lune for the series placement.

Find No. 4530. Found at 12.15pm.A day spent at Creswick to do the '50 Must See Places' caches, on our push bikes. We got the first one on the way in, then parked the van between the 1st and 2nd and off we rode doing these in order. Got to No. 34 then it was back to the van for a rather late lunch. After lunch we loaded the bikes and moved the van to No. 35, got the bikes out and off we rode again to finish off the series. We enjoyed riding the tracks, approx 20 ks, through the pine forest and finding the caches as we went.We also found the extras on the trail.TFTC Sol de lune

Find # 13290Solo trip to Creswick to tackle the 50 must see places series and others along the way. Spent 3 and a half hours driving the forest and finding a total of 62 caches.Day started off ok, thankfully the sprinkling of rain from mid day, that lasted to 2:30 kept the heat away. While a bit annoying, it did make for a more interesting and enjoyable time caching the forest.Alot of places on the list are a Dream. Never say never. Maybe one dayTFTC Sol de lune

Out for a fun day caching with Donutholes through the back roads of Creswick pine plantation while enjoying the 50 Must See Places caches. There was plenty of banter and laughs as Donutholes chauffeured me about in style while dodging a pot hole or three.Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the traditional cache Sol de lune #7,680

AusFox and I decided to leave Geelong at 6:30am to smash out this series! It has been on the list ever since it dropped but finding a time that suited us both was the tricky part.I drove and AusFox was on directions as we worked our way through all the hides. Very happy to get all the smiley faces here Smile. I was surprised that it didn't take us as long as I thought it would.Looking for caches is fun but it's all about the banter and hanging with mates for me!Thanks for all your work in placing and maintaining these hides .

02-Jan-24
Found with McAdies and Jelly_bean14.Some of these took a little while to spot but we found them all.I don't know how many of these spots I might visit in my life but they sound great. Thanks for the hides.

Found during my roadtrip from Canberra to do the Ballarat GeoTour. After finishing the GeoTour yesterday, the redux of the 50 Must See Places was on my non-negotiable to-do list. I found the original series in Canberra more than 11 years ago when I was just starting high school so it has been cool to read my past logs for that series and reflect upon how much has changed since then. Full-time worker, university graduate, full-driver's license and I have now visited 7 of the Must See Places whereas before I had only visited 1! I also appreciated how different this rendition of the series was to the one in Canberra; this rendition involved driving, different containers and I didn't see any snakes this time so I'm calling that a win! The drive took about 4 hours including a few stops for bonus caches nearby. I drove past SciFiRulz, PapaGrouch and MazzyMay at one of the intersections which was nice social time in the middle of a pleasant drive. Many thanks to you, Sol, for the significant effort that you have put into recreating this iconic powertrail from my childhood, from memory it may have been my first ever powertrail. TFTC and series! THIS CACHE: Went to Rome twice! First time was on my ANZAC school trip in 2015, the second time was on my gap year in 2018! Lots of cool things to see here and a lot of great opportunities for day trips or overnight trips out of the city. Attached are photos of me at the Colosseum (2015 and 2018), Trevi Fountain (which I only got to see the second time because it was under renovations the first time) and the Mouth of Truth (which I also only got to see the second time, it just wasn't in the itinerary the first time).

29-Dec-23
Found with PapaGrouch and MazzyMay on a day out in the Creswick forest and surrounds. Had a fun day finding a lot of caches. Most fairly easy, some took a bit longer. We were racing to see who spotted the cache first, we each found some so everyone was happy.I haven't been to this location.TFTC

Today I returned to get a few more caches in this series. Todays aim was to find 12 caches in order to get the solstice souvenir.I have visited Rome before my caching hobby began. I was taken on a family holiday there as a young girl so didnt appreciate the history of the place as much as I would now. I would love to return one day.The cache here was found quickly with good coords. All is good at the GZ

20-Dec-23
Found by Mary and David at 11:50. After the Event this morning, we headed over here to finish the 50 Must See Places series and find a couple of other caches along the way. Arrividerci Roma! Been there a couple of times on different tours. M speaks reasonable pidgin Italian. Our tour director advised us to just step off the kerb and start walking if we wanted to cross the road, and the traffic would go around. It did, too. The only proviso was that we should not look the oncoming drivers/riders in the eye, as they would take that as a challenge. Our thanks to Sol de lune.

Out with a large group to enjoy this new power trail with Muzza, McLookers, Micaparamedic, Lumpyjrb and Pprass. Signed at CITOmob and all found present and correct. We've been to Rome and our useful hint is don't go in mid summer as it's too hot and crowded and stand up to eat snacks as they charge less in cafes if you do.

16-Dec-23
Found at 1:34 PM in the company of ConnieandRick, Lumpyjrb, McLookers, micaparamedic and muzza. We signed the logs sheets as "CITO Mob" due to the CITO that we all attended that morning.Ah - what a fantastic city. We loved it and the food and culture and beautiful women just promenading during the day wearing exquisite clothes while we were bumming around in shorts and T-Shirts!Thanks to Sol de lune

Suscoe headed to Creswick this morning to get a start on "The 50 Must See Places" trail. We go a bit over half way this morning so another trip is already being planned to find the remaining caches. It was a pleasant drive around these tracks with lots of butterflies and dragonflies in the air.Thank you to Sol de lune for this cache and the series. We loved the ruins and the history.

A new series in the area highlighting some of the worlds greatest places, I have been to many of these over the years and still a lot to get to. An interesting series with the cache all being found expect 1 no.44, the coords on most are a little out but after awhile I got an eye for them and was able to spot them all quickly. This week I decided to head to Victoria for a few days to target finishing off the Ballarat Geotour and also find the new series in St Arnaud, anything else was a bonus. I ended up finding a little over 300 caches plus a tonne of ad labs along the way. Thanks for the series

09-Dec-23
Out and about with Rebel Acts and The Empire to scatter smiles on the map, marking our final geocaching escapade for the year. Despite the less-than-ideal weather, it turned out to be a fantastic day of caching. This is one of the caches we were lucky to find, Cheers for the cache

09-Dec-23
Found by The Empire with Rebel Acts and omegaman1971Teaming up with Rebel Acts and omegaman1971 to tackle some new caches in Creswick, eager to escape the hustle and bustle of city life for a weekend retreat, I found solace among the towering pine trees that formed a dense green canopy overhead. The plantation stretched endlessly, offering a tranquil and secluded haven.Spotting a group of kangaroos near the edge of the plantation, we slowed down to observe these iconic creatures. Their powerful hind legs propelled them through the wet grass as if the rain had invigorated their spirits. The unexpected downpour had brought the landscape to life, each raindrop enhancing the colors around us.Amidst the rain, a burst of laughter echoed through the air, catching us off guard. We looked up to see a group of kookaburras perched on the branches above, their distinctive cackling blending harmoniously with the pitter-patter of raindrops. Another quick find here. Thanks for the cache, and the series Sol de lune.-M

09-Dec-23
I noticed the new must see places trail had been published so plans were made with Omegaman1971 and The Empire to meet up and do them, we also tackled the AFL series and a couple of other caches on route. The hanging containers on the trail were a real challenge, those lids were really hard to get off. This is one of the caches found today. We could not off picked a worse day weather wise as we all went home like drowned rats. Thanks Sol de lune for the cache.

I had been working on assignments all day and noticed a lot of emails popping up, but I ignored them as assignments have due dates. Fast forward to the evening, and Sims_family called to see if I was interested in an [FTF], one I would have passed on, but 30-something, that is a different matter altogether. On the way to my rendezvous with Sims_family, I called my brother JTreeTrack2 and asked if he would be interested in joining the feast of FTFs. He asked to call back in twenty. By this time, Sims_family and I were on the way to Ballarat, and he agreed that he would love to join us if we could pick him up.Once the crew were together, we headed to the first GZ and picked up our first FTF for the night. We have not been to Rome as yet, but we look forward to touring there at some point.Thank you, Sol de lune, for this Traditional Cache.

SmileSmileSmile Joint [FTF] with Dromaniax and JTreeTrack2 SmileSmileSmile I was having a quiet day trying to recover from a massive day yesterday with Geocaching Geelong Annual Christmas Events day and my Birthday when my phone went crazy with over 50 new caches published in the Creswick area. Normally the first to find hunter in me would be right shoes sock lets go but I was truly cooked from yesterday. As the day went on I did keep half an eye on them and noticed a few had been found but by late afternoon all action seem to have ceased. After resting most of the day I couldn't resist the urge to head out after dark. A call to Dromaniax who was going to be working on some assignments could pass up a chance at so many First to finds and while enroute to Ballarat his brother JTreeTrack2 said he would also join in for some fun. After picking him up it was off for the fun to begin. starting a little after 11pm we had 12 down before midnight and a new day stated. All up I think we managed 39 first to finds and 1 DNF and a lot of laughs. Home around 4:30am meant it was going to be another tired day ahead but it was definitely worth the effort.Thank you Sol de lune for the series
