No point waiting for a train, but it was a nice little park with interesting train history stuff. Some Q's/A's were a bit tricky, but we sorted it out. OCW MaxAdventurer. TFTC Jackscruff

10:46hrs - like many others mentioned before, i too did the previous cache in this location. Initially i went straight to where it was in the last archived cache (without doing the sums), and couldn't find it . It was a blindingly bright and sunny day - which i now know, hindered my ability to see the cache. I left thwarted. I came back a second time today, and actually did do the sums... only to end up back at where the archived cache was stashed!!! . I used my phone camera to peer discretely at GZ. BAM! WTH?! There it was. I stealthily grabbed, wandered away, signed and replaced as found. TFTC.

Find #: 3,686Companions: NoneMuggles: NoneWeather: Pleasant spring morningCache condition: GoodThird time lucky ... I went to the parkrun at Whalan Reserve again so that I could swing past this cache. The first time I visited here I had the wrong co-ords having misinterpreted some of the letters, the second time I had the right co-ords (thanks for adding the checksum) but was a bit too fixated on the "hint", but this time I had received some intel so had no issues finding the container - how did I miss that last time? TNLNSL, thanks for sharing this interesting spot and for increasing my favourite worldwide series.

Passing by this morning and stopped off to make the find. Worked out some coordinates, but alas the checksum didn't match....so a quick doubling of our answer for question A and we were good to go - thanks to the CO for providing the checksum. Quick find at GZ and after signing the log replaced as found. Thanks for the cache Jackscruff - have a FP.The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football, Berliner Schnauze mit Herz ??, Oberpflzer Globetrotter, MELINDA ALIVENTI, Capital GeoBash 2024 - Canberra Australia, Sam the Clam, An Unexpected Journey, Wonders of the World Tag- Red, Dwa Misie Chameleon Volunteer Tag, Des Alten Schweden altes GPS (S), Entendame Schnatti 6 Geocoin, Emeritus-BALKAN TOUR, Grandads Padlock, Heartbeat (NYPL)

Check sum added to the description. The hide is in one of the photos on the cache page.

After running parkrun nearbyish I headed over here. I wandered around gathering the details, with no-one around, before heading to my calculated GZ. Hmmm, nothing. OK, that digit is wrong, how about *there*? Still nothing. Sigh, must still have one of the digits wrong - is it possible to add a checker or checksum, please? Still, interesting little park - thanks for highlighting it!

We are on another short (three day) caching holiday in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains, staying for two nights in a park cabin at the Ingenia Nepean River BIG4 Holiday Park at Emu Plains. Hoping to collect the new Adventure Labs, Letterbox, Traditional, and Puzzle/Mystery caches that have appeared around Penrith & surrounds since our last visit to the area back in May 2023. Will also be returning to the lower Blue Mountains for some new caches and to attend a Winter Solstice Event at Mount Riverview, and a Post Winter Solstice CITO Event the following day at Cranebrook. Photos will be uploaded to logs on our return to home base. This was the 16th of 21 finds for the day (day 2), and 27th find of the holiday. After attending a Post Solstice CITO Event, and then grabbing a random Traditional cache, we next arrived at this SideTracked MultiCache at Ropes Creek. Having been here before for the previous MultiCache "GC6X3TD - Ropes Creek Station Multi" (now Archived) we knew what to expect to see at the Park, but it's an interesting place, so always happy for a return visit.Wandered around the familiar relics & exhibits, gathering all of the required information, but we did stumble on a couple of questions that could be interpreted differently. Initially thought "rail lines" meant a pair of rails, but that gave an unrealistic answer, so we went for the number of individual rails. And we weren't sure if the "platform lights" were just the ones actually on the platform, or the total number of that style of light located throughout the park. In the absence of any form of checker or checksum it caused us some head scratching and testing of various potential GZs. But we got there in the end, locating the correct GZ and soon had the very nicely constructed cache container in hand. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Thanks Jackscruff for bringing us back to this interesting park, and for another SideTracked cache to add to our growing collection, which all up gets a Favourite point from us. It was such a shame the old signal box was burnt down, but great that they managed to save some original relics, and fabricate some of the other features.Find #6877

SideTracked find 261.I found 'A' (open to a couple of interpretations) & 'D' (my GPS was saying more SE-NW. I did calibrate it first.) ambiguous. However I did guess correctly and then was off for a quick find. Nice cache. Cache and log are good. Interesting place, and worth a favourite for showing me it. TFTC Jackscruff.

#2003This was the only find for the day. After finding a service station offering fuel for less than $2 a litre, I decided to look for this cache. I had previously found an earlier iteration of a cache here and decided to check that hiding spot first. Without having any luck, I set out to locate the information. Although I was spot on for A, D, E, and F, I had to think a little bit more about my answers for B and C. As I was prompted to walk towards what I thought was GZ, I checked another couple of other likely hiding spots and shortly found the cache. SL. TFTC.

Good local find!

As has happened a few times lately, I got sidetracked in my travels and ended up at yet another SideTracked cache, this time on my way to Penrith for a birthday (mine) celebration with friends tonight ... and at a place I've cached previously.Gathered the required numbers and came up with a location for GZ that didn't really make sense. Once I checked my workings, though, I saw that I had been tricked by "A", and fixing that gave me a much more satisfactory result. The search for the cache took longer than it should have as I focussed on the wrong spot and indeed the wrong type of hide ... that's what happens when you make assumptions about a hide! Eventually, though, I returned to the first place I'd checked ... and, lo and behold, there was the cache, just not where I'd looked earlier.A nice job here Jackscruff, and thanks for providing me with another opportunity to add to my SideTracked finds tally. This one gets a fave point by way of additional thanks.

My maths were correct for once but my device had me searching where I shouldnt. Do love this place as Ive completed the previous editions.Arrived and had the place to myself until a couple of father/siblings started riding the circuit. After gathering and countings, sat down to wait for the next RED RATTLER, I meant, but out the GZ.As the red rattler never eventuated, I struggled for the find and needed help, as in read the hint carefully, my reliable PAF says. Etched my name into the log, wondering how many more times, Ill visit this glorious place throughout my caching life, thanks Jackscruff

#5893Visited this cache and signed the log with Rama497 after attending the Beer O'Clock event at Emu Plains with the CO in attendance. It's always great to collect another SideTracked cache to add to this tally. I like that the old infrastructure has been preserved here and made into a nice park.Answers were easy to obtain and I let Rama497 do the finding on this one. Nice container too!!!! Thanks for the geo-fun Jackscruff.

I thought Id solved this one and headed off to GZ. But once there I couldnt find anything that matched the hint. I reconsidered option A. I thought a rail line was a set of rails not an individual rail. After doubling my answer I drive back to where I started and made a quick find. A lovely place to see the history left in place. TFTC.

The south coordinates were very tricky to determine as A,B, and C were open to interpretation. After changing numbers several times, I got a more likely spot much closer by. Previous geocaching experience at this location got me to GZ much quicker than could have been. TFTC

Was passing through the area and had seen this one published recently. This is the third multi published at this great old site.Gained all the required numbers and did the calc. I was a bit off, but managed to use common sense and zoomed in on the nicely constructed cache. All in all it was fun to return and grab this new one.Have a FP!

Disappointed not to find this. I did all the work and was confident with my coordinates, but just couldn't find the cache. I kept expanding the search area until I'd done nearly the whole park ( well, it felt like it). Would love a geo checker to check coordinates, as there is some interpreting to do with a couple of the questions. Feeling sad.

#10191 (2 of 2 today)Hit the north west for a few calendar finds today. Went for two. Found two. Happiness!###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###Not quite sure what the CO is doing all the way out here, but arrived and collected the required info. Was unsure of the meaning of one question and plugging in one option provided an unlikely result. The other though gave a much more satisfactory destination. Well sort of, but my experience here and caching instincts pushed me to one spot - CIH!Completed signing duties, replaced and headed home.SLTNLNTFTC

Came for a drive to find this cache with ilook4geo. Worked out the new numbers but unfortunately made a mistake first up, so was looking in the wrong area. While we were there some other cachers came along and joined the hunt. Once the mistake was corrected, we moved along and even then our GPS and phone both wanted us to check out a different feature. So the others made the find about 9 m from our area of concentration. A 2TF is still good and we say thank you to Jackscruff for a good multi and another SIdeTracked cache.

Found this one together with goingplaces2 and just after the first cachers. Signed the log and replaced as found. The co-ords seemed to be a bit off. TFTC.
