Logs
We wanted to make quick finds today, together with goingplaces2, due to the extreme heat. This one was found in the most popular hiding place. Signing was done and we moved on. TFTC.
Went out to do a bit of caching today with ilook4geo but the most important thing we were looking for was shade, as it was a very hot day. This one was thankfully a quick and easy find, so the log was signed and we went back to the air conditioned car. Thanks go to AlphaDeltaIndigo for putting this SideTracked cache into play, which was No. 263 on our list of SideTracked finds.
Found by The EmpireA quick find here and another SideTracked cache ticked off the list! Thanks for the cache AlphaDeltaIndigo.-M
A great location to visit and a great GC page of history.TFTC alpha Delta indigo
Out for an afternoon of caching in the Yarraville area with one of pinnacle333.A tricky spot to access, but a quick find. Thanks AlphaDeltaIndigo.
Out with echidna44 for the afternoon. The poor houses on this stretch of road have only the concrete wall of the overpass as their scenic view! A quick find beside the railway line as tree-trimming linesmen wanted to grab our carpark! TFTC AlphaDeltaIndigo
TFTC:). Initially was looking at the wrong spot. After taking a little break, I thought from past experience where it could be. I saw a potential option as I have seen this kind of hide before. My thoughts were indeed correct as I was able to make the find.C.C
I swung past here this morning on the way to the Braybrook CITO, and of course made it harder than it had to be. Even looking at the hint I misinterpreted it. So I went 'back to basics' and oh looky here. I found a cache. There's some great remnants of old tracks and cobblestones in this quiet corner of Yarraville. Thanks for bringing us here and hiding another SideTracked for us to find! Cache on
All good with this cache. Meatloaf might believe 2 out of 3 ain't bad, but not when it comes to finding more SideTracked caches!! Thanks for placing.
Spring Victorian Incursion 2024.Day Eight: Maribyrnong and Hobsons Bay. Weather: just a few spots of rain today.Almost a DNF here because my iPhone GPS had me at the wrong end. Its an easy find when youre at the right end! Thanks for adding to my Melbourne SideTracked haul AlphaDeltaIndigo.
It was another day at work, and as the weather improved, it was time to grab a cache on the way home.We could park quite close by and make our way towards GZ.We spent a lot of time searching where the GPS was pointing us, and the satellite view agreed where the cache should be. We were about to give up and thought, what if it is at the other end of the guard rail? So we walked down to the other end of the guard rail and then made a rapid find. The cache is in excellent condition.Thank you for this Traditional cache, AlphaDeltaIndigo.
A quiet corner but surprising amount of traffic, fortunately a good hint allowed me to get in and out quickly, tftc
Thanks for the cache. We had planned on doing a few caches today in the last days of the school holidays but the weather had other plans. At least we got one in!
Found safe and sound after a bit of a hunt we found the cache to be about 10 m away.TFTC
After a bit of a walk around Seddon post event I couldn't lay my hands on one cache despite a thorough search and had to walk past two others because of the muggle issue on a sunny, Sunday afternoon.I almost turned this simple cache into another DNF but thankfully finally parsed plain English hint correctly.Well selected spot, this cache should last a long, long while.
Opportunistic find in the way back from yoga, no pen on hand so will have to return to sign. TFTC!
Found by caughtatwork on 02/06/2024 at 2:58:00 PMA quick find.Took nothing, left nothing. Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.*Overall Experience: 3*GAFF1
Rated: for Overall Experience
I found this cache on my Mega Walk #21 - a 29,000 step walk from Newport to Yarraville and then onto West Footscray. I misconstrued what I was looking for at the start but on my second pass, soon had the cache in hand. Thanks from D B-A
Found after what should not have been such a long hide. For me the coordinates are 12 metres out. For my partner it was 13 metres out.Nonetheless we found and signed another sidetrack series cache.TFTC W074
TFTC! 1 May 2024 6:30:00PM 8085 thanks to AlphaDeltaIndigo for the cache! A quick out for a cache tonight! Thanks
*Found on the 21 Apr 2024 @ 1:34PM.**Cache find # 15570.*This morning, I headed Altona way to attend the event at Cherry Lake with biggles1024.With the event now over, it was time to find a few more caches before heading for home,As we were going in circles and slowly making our way home, we came across this one so we stopped for a look, shortly after the cache was located and the log was signed.**Thanks to AlphaDeltaIndigo for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**
**21/04/2024, 13:35:00****Find #5755****Traditional Find #3449**I headed over to Williamstown with SteMicMitSar to attend the Cache of the Year Nomination event and also find a few caches of interest. We couldn't let this one go without attempting to find it. I probed the obvious location and retrieved a very unexpected item. I see now that it is referenced in the hint. I second look into the darkness revealed the cache. With the log signed, we were again on our way.**Thank-you to AlphaDeltaIndigo for placing this geocache**
I was running early for a change so hopped off the train to look for this one. My coords had me at the wrong end of the host but worked my way along and got there in the end. Thanks.

Found after reading the hint wrong, thinking "what's a guardrail cover?" Since I'm in Melbourne for an extended stretch again it's really helping me boost my caching stats.
Really good hiding spot. Tricked us a bit. Our app directions were a little off!
Thanks to AlphaDeltaIndigo for this hide and another SideTracked placement. It was quiet here this morning, not even a train to liven up the early part of the day.
Down from Thomastown, two trains and a bus to find a few caches and this one was the last of the day and it didn't disappoint. Thank you AlphaDeltaIndigo for your cache. Now two trains and a bus will see me home
After attending a lunch time event in Melbourne I headed out west to find some caches. Specifically I wanted three caches in the Maribyrnong LGA for a challenge I am working on... and decided to go after a trio of **SideTracked** caches... and, quite unusually for me, I was doing them by train!A Williamstown train was the first leaving Flinders Street when I showed so that meant off to Yarraville first. A nice easy find with the remnants of the old Yarraville yard evident nearby. Thanks **AlphaDeltaIndigo** for putting this cache out... and adding to the growing number of **SideTracked** caches around Melbourne.
Nice quick find. Absolutely p1$$ing rain so glad there was nearby shelter to sign the dry log. TftcDaily streak: 367
# 21557. With it being New Year's Day and knowing that the roads would be very very quiet we ventured out to start our caching year and for Rob to do some maintenance. Successful mission on all counts.Rob wanted to do a loop and collect a few of these Sidetracked caches. A quick find here today. Thanks AlphaDeltaIndigo
A lovely sunny start to the New Year, so BettyBoo3747 and I decided to clean up some SideTracked caches around the area. Turned out a good idea as the streets and car parks were quite empty.I have been many times on the train past here, and even driven over the overpass, but I have never come below here. Thanks, Robmc.
15:07Just one more... Or as many as I can find before the year winds up.Second SideTracked cache of the day, by train. A brisk walk and quick find, but not quite quickly enough for the return trip, so I'll walk to the next one. Thanks, AlphaDeltaIndigo.SideTracked #92#8112
I was in Yarraville at the Sun Theatre less than a week ago and did not think to find this cache. I returned today to make things right. Side-tracked caches are just the best.
Omegaman1971Support Your Local Villain Live - Laugh - Lurk First To Find: 149Sidetracked Cache Finds: 115In the area with Rebel Acts for our last Geocaching day of the year and I was attempting to hit 2000 finds for the year and get my 13000 cache. This is one of the caches we successfully found today, Cheers for the cache.
Just passing this one while out checking street-o map (just after a drink a couple of hundred metres to the south)
Out and about with My good caching mate Omegaman1971, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles. This is one of the caches found today. Thanks AlphaDeltaIndigo for the cache.
Found It!Interesting bit of history. Found the cache and then a train went past.TFTC
After a short search and also reading the hint the cache was found in very good condition. Thanks for creating and maintaining it and TFTC.
Bunadoorian and I came over to Yarraville to visit a cafe seen on Getaway for lunch. As we were in the area we decided to pick up this cache. Another Sidetracked cache found as per the hint. TFTC AlphaDeltaIndigo
So much of the old infrastructure still remains to this day. It's a shame that the local historical society doesn't see the heritage value here. They could do so much!A nice quick find, in between passing muggles, on foot, and in cars. There was only one train whilst I was here. Thanks for the cache ADI.
Super easy find ,signed log ,follow hint and you cant miss it ,good confidence booster after a savage DNF on the west gate memorial cache last night lol , TFTC
A little annoyed I didnt get th FTF on this, since I am very regular to the Yarraville village, but it was still a good find for my 60th!TFTC!
Currently trying to finish the year with a streak and so heading out daily, for a cache. Plus there are a few other caches I need for challenges. Today I was out this way so came for this cache after dinner. Did my best to make this as hard as possible but finally found it.Thanks to AlphaDeltaIndigo for the fun and the adventure.
Heading over to Hampton RSL after work for the COTY awards and I have seen this one on my map thats needs to turn yellow.I didnt realise how busy and narrow the streets are around here as I made my way to near GZ and I eventually found somewhere to part the Geowagon. An interesting spot with a section of the old railway tracks still visible heading off in to the park which Im guessing was the old goods yard.Cache was soon located in a logical spot.Another sidetracked cache ticked off the list. Thanks AlphaDeltaIndigo TFTC.
