Dropped eldest novo off at a safe drivers course in the CBD this morning. Youngest geokid and I then took off for three hours to climb some trees. Brought a TOTT with us just in case but it didn't leave the roof rack all day. Egads... this puzzle. If puzzle solves could be likened to watching a movie then I would liken this to watching something like *Ready Player One* lol, and not to mention the plot twists that keep coming in that film. TFTC and puzz (I think), Googlehihihi.#2042
What else do you do when you are in Newcastle?? Climb humungous pine trees on median strips on busy roads of course! I have to say "Awesome Climb!!" to my geoson MaxAdventurer. This time I was just the ladderman. OCW MaxAdventurer. TFTC GHHH
While most of the tree was an easy 'ladder climb', the start was a bit tricky. It would appear that most people would have trouble getting into the tree without a ladder.I'm always up for a challenge, though, and I enjoyed climbing up the tree without TOTT.EverestHigh followed me with the ladder.TFTC Googlehihihi and EthisEthat
Only in Newcastle do you steal a friends ladder, climb 20m up a tree and place a cache. An interesting puzzle to go along with it too. Was present upon publication.
A trip north with TM, Crash, PPE and Baktrak for a little tour around town of select caches. We had solved this early on but as its only Newcastle didnt race out immediately and had hoped for **FTF**On arrival the host was soon identified and I looked over and said look there it is pointing to a blue container. Only in Newcastle is this a T4. Out with the ladder and up to the cache with only one broken brach on the way up. Opening the log and those bloody GOMs had been already so its not only Sydney it happens. A neighbour came out to see what were doing and confirmed a shadowy mob had been there not long ago. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Some prestidigitation and mystic chants made quick work of the numbers but it was almost 2 weeks until the gang had time for a quick road trip. As it tuned out, we were a dollar short and a day late, beaten to a *FTF* once again. Still, an enjoyable day with TM, PPE, B@W and C2079. A bit of a team effort managing ropes, onlookers, traffic and keep and eye out for a certain miscjievous monkey. Thanks to the expert ascender for risking life and limb, and GHHH for the cache.
Cracked this one soon after publication and today on a northerly expedition with some like-minded individuals we came hunting for some new caches. Several attempts were made at climbing the lofty heights but these were thwarted by a couple of rogue unsafe branches. After resetting with ropes the climb continued passed the previous attempt. On locating the container we opened it to find the GOMs had once again foiled us in [FTF]. Needless to say, we signed the log then replaced as found. A nice clear puzzle with a challenging climb gets you a FP.The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football
#7465A northerly expedition with a car full of enthusiastic cachers.Much effort and preparation went into adding our names to this log only to find out that we were late to the party. We even piqued the interest of some locals who were enquiring as to which type of bird we were studying. I'm sure there were also lots of sore necks based on the interest level of passing motorists. Surprised we didn't cause an accident.Plenty more effort went into solving another intricate puzzle, with a certain magician making the required connections.TFTC Googlehihihi and EthisEthat (ft. Sam's ladder)
Damn GOMs foiled us again for a [FTF]. They are everywhere and nowhere. Found on a recent Newcastle expedition. Nice to see so many new additions. Nice climb except for breaking a branch at about the 80% up mark. Came back to earth to gather my nerve and then re-ascended with some protection. Gets a fave point.SL TFTC
