After a night of absolute carnage weather the morning was a wash out. Rain rain rain and wind wind wind. Gladstone had no power or Telstra so again our climb of Mt Cameron was thwarted. We were booked in at the pub for Sunday roast (Pork and apple crumble) and once we checked the pub was definitely closed we decided to get our arses in gear and head out for a drive during a break between storms. Fortified with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast we headed to Tomahawk for a couple of caches. It was nice to blow away the cobwebs. Easily found the bum but the cache took a little bit longer. Once crouched in the right position the cache was eventually spotted not before spotting an empty cable tie which made us think the cache might be gone. But cache found close by safely cable tied . TFTC a fun spot
Today we further explored our back yard finding caches along the way, and this was one of them.We concentrated on finding the caches that have been published since our last visit. This was nice drive into Tomahawk and a great stroll along the whie sandy beach, a quick find at GZ.We found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty. Many thanks to the CO for your cache placement.
Unfortunately couldn't sign the log book due to junior cacher forgetting pen (it's always easier to blame someone else )
Today I decided Id go for a Sunday drive and have a relaxing day taking in the countryside and perhaps grab a 1st to find .I got to see echidna's , a wombat, cows , sheep , a flock of 30 odd Cape Barren Geese and various sea birds , pine trees , gum trees , sand dunes , beaches , paddocks with hay bales and green pastures with HUGE retic systems , it really was a beautiful, relaxing drive. And the bonus.. I was able to claim this cache as a *FTF* @ 10.25am 17.12.2023Tasmania is a beautiful destination with a mixture of scenery that can take your breath away.TFTC DaryVafderKeep smiling
