Something special or unusual goes here:I was able to solve this one before leaving home due to the magic of the inter webs. Checksums worked so I was confident as we pulled up to GZ. [^] Even more confident when I could see the cache from the geomobile. Now that's a good sized cache. Struggled to get the lid off but found a well stocked cache and a little twist to get to the logbook. Lots of fun so I took nothing but left a travel bug and a favourite point. The Generic Bit:Another Tuesday Trekking this week for some Confused Puzzlers. I drove to the Rat's nest where I met up with Ttrogg and Sewer Rats. We piled into the Ttrogg-mobile this week. [^] Our target today was to one again to continue our quest to A Jigidi for... Nirvana caches and anything else that we happened to be close to. Another fun day with a FTF, no DNFs and some cache maintenance performed. ***Thanks Jamms_SA for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
This week it was a Tuesday Trek, after picking up the Starfish and the Rat from the Rat's nest we went a wandering. The main aim for the day was to get some more of the A Jigidi for ... series, but of course there were going to be some others found, just because they were there and we could, or we wanted to. And as a bonus there was even a FTF After checking out the plaque and working out where to go, went there, parked and heard 'Found it' before I was out of the car. It's always nice to find a large cache, even if it's a struggle to get the lid off Thanks to Jamms_SA for adding to our playing field with this cache.Smilie #15582.I would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this Land, and their continuing connection to it. I also wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and to Elders past, present and emerging.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*
Time for a Tuesday Trekking on the back roads.A trio of Confused Puzzlers Went a wandering. The trio consisted of SA Sewer Rats, Brisal5 and ttrogg. We met at the Rat's nest, and piled into the ttrogg mobile.Headed out for the back roads, chasing boxes. Was spotted as we pulled up.We stamped the logbook and replaced as found. Two days ago I headed over to the Yorke Peninsula to find some caches of interest, mostly published since my last visit. I had intended to be away and camp for at least one night, possibly two depending on how I felt.As it turns out, the weather has been great, the caching is going well and Ive decided to stay away a third night.Since leaving the Yorke Peninsula yesterday Ive been pretty well just following the compass from cache to cache and seeing where it leads me My focus has been on non-Traditional cache types and Ive ended up in the Barossa Valley, down to the back of the Adelaide Hills, then across to the Murray at Mannum, then up to the Sedan area where Ive camped tonight.Ive been lucky with the caches today, finding most of them without difficulty and with one exception where it was missing, in good order. This was one of my finds for the day.The weather is supposed to change for the worst, so its home tomorrow I think. Thanks Jamms_SA for the cache.
A lovely couple of hours grabbing a few unfound caches E/SE of Riverton on a cool and very windy day. Many thanks for this multi Jamms_SA
Logging as a beta tester. I am one of the M's in JAMMS and was there when this one was placed. Thanks
logging as a beta tester. We decided that this location needed a cache to bring you to this location. It turned in to a multi since we only had a bucket to hide and a bucket couldn't be hidden at the listed co ords.
Calculated a probable location and headed to ground zero. Left the GPSr in the car and gathered the cache. Oh it is going to be one of those caches. Eventually the log was signed. Thanks for the fun.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Travelling with iluvtrekking on a SA caching foray. Staying a couple of days in Clare to grab some finds. Did the figures and proceeded to gz to locate the large container and the surprise therein. Thanks Jamms
Found with richlink as part of our Annual Caravan Geocaching Trip.We are staying in Clare for a couple of days and gathering some hides around the countryside. Thanks for the cache surprise.
Stopped by Peter's Hill again, this time for a quick multi, the D/T is interesting here, given there's 5 others of the same DT in the state... lolAnyways, a quick calc, short drive and quick find ensued.TNLNSL Thanks
After a quick trip to town we had an afternoon of daylight and decided on a short detour on the way home, checked out the graves gathered some info and made the needed amendments, whilst driving out we met the land owner and after a bit of a chat he suggested we check out the nearby Marshall hut, nice little hut if you like roughing it, once we had a fill a friendly wave to the farmer as we headed to GZ for a quick findTFTC Jamms_SA
I decided to take Friday off work to make it a four day weekend. The plan was to explore around Barossa and Clare valleys. Im not much of a wine drinker but there sure are lots of geocaches in these parts. I brought my bike along so I could tackle some of the many caches along bike tracks. A little cool through out the day but the sun was shining which always makes me happy. Yes I am a John Denver Fan. Numbers collected and the cache was in hand after a short drive. Nice big one here. Thank you Jamms_SA , for placing Peters Hill School for the geocaching community.# # #14888 # #
As we wander through the land, grabbing caches and seeing the sights even occasionally catching up with friends A good day was had while grabbing these caches with lots of miles covered Thanks for placing them *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Found it! Interesting historic spot, collected the info needed then headed to GZ for the find. Nice big container and had a little laugh to myself as I was trying to get to the log. FP from me! TFTC!
*TTF* Third to Find joint with [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY) at 09:22 hr.We visited the Posted Coordinates where there was some interesting plaques and information. Whilst crunching the GZ coordinates, we drove past a head-high trunk with a suspicious rock, so I took the hunch that the cache was hidden there, and jogged to scope. Nope, and perhaps that made sense as it was fairly close to being opposite to a homestead. With the coordinates for GZ solved, we found a few caches before driving past GZ and making the quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks JAMMS aka [JJ52](https://coord.info/PR7ZQX5), [allister w](https://coord.info/PR9ERXW), [Michells&hound](https://coord.info/PR99DDN), [mogni](https://coord.info/PR1NT8Z), and [sir_spectre](https://coord.info/PRDYQMZ) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------A trip visiting Adelaide from Brisbane for the [The Great Leap Forward](http://coord.info/GCA1DNA) Mega event!I arrived Wednesday 28/02/2024 evening ready for Leap Day on Thursday, and stayed with family across the weekend, before returning on Monday 4/03/2024 morning. Previous Adelaide trips are spent with family and friends, but targeted geocaching was this trip's objective, and I attempted to target unique cache types (virtuals, EarthCaches, Wherigos and letterbox hybrids), attractive D-T combinations, high Favourite Point caches, and the occasional pre-2003 oldie, acknowledging that I had found many cherished oldies whilst residing in Adelaide. In addition to Mega central in Beverley/Hindmarsh, my trip included visits as north as Clare, to Aldinga and Sellicks Beach to the south, and the Adelaide Hills (Hahndorf, Uraidla) to the west. In true South Australian style, I ticked off the three closest wine areas to Adelaide (Barossa, Clare Valley, and McLaren Vale). Additional highlights included Barossa vineyard meanderings, boating to Adventure Island in Outer Harbor, drain exploration via [The Shadowlands](https://coord.info/GC18AZY), beach walks of Port Willunga and Sellicks Beach, enjoying a beer at Willunga, and experiencing the Fringe Festival in Adelaide's east end.Today on 29/02/2024 Leap Day, it was an extremely early start joining [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY) to drive north to attend Clare's morning event. As the sun rose, we meandered back to Adelaide via Auburn, Saddleworth, Peters Hill, Tarlee, and Gawler, and I then proceeded solo visiting targeted geocaches in Adelaide's north around Mawson Lakes. A couple of targeted geocaches in North Adelaide's park lands with [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY), and I then headed east to Stepney and Toorak Gardens, before visiting Mega HQ. The day's remainder was spent catching up with old geocaching friends, geocaching, gadget caching, and closing-out the day with [The Side Event](http://coord.info/GCAH07T) dinner.Adventure Labs visited included: [Adelaide Icon Tour with Neobatrachus Pictus](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/e4e6daf2-4904-4f32-9a49-3308a1d7a075); [Hidden History of Charles Sturt Council](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/f1f49ce0-0345-4bb0-9cf6-f1ff813d80d9); [Sporting Adelaide](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/746734fb-eab7-4058-8072-922a43bdc332); [The Great Leap Forward Gadget Caches](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/a2d616d0-5583-4663-a70c-605c6a88c956); and [Visiting South Australia's Special Places](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/44b6d461-0b3b-43b5-adf1-1c29f61766b7).
A solve at WP1 of the numbers was had, then off to GZ where the cache was found nicely hiddenToday with the mega in Adelaide going ahead, I headed out in the morning with Davidwazza for a catch up and a caching morning up and around Clare, before heading back into the city to attend the leap forward event. A few caches found along the way and around the mega event. Thanks for the cache
This is the trouble when putting out a cache nearby. There used to be a cache here many years ago.
Out for an afternoon drive and saw this one had still not been found after a few hours... so Purrfect Di and Jack and talked me into a detour for a joint find A few quick sums at the school site, and off we went for a nice big cache find at the final GZ. No mint tins here That's a fav! {FTF} @ 1430. A slight sense of deja vu as have been here before, but always interesting to check out another school as we live in one from around the same era. Peters Hill unfortunately didn't survive as well but a nice memorial park all the same. Thank you Jamms_SA for the christmas eve cache hide and ongoing care and maintenance Much appreciated! ---------------- ----------------------Countryside caching with Jack and Purrfect Di. In a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and solid lumps falling from trees - - - a cache a day keeps us agile... sort of --------Caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp ) Work gets in the way - and some may take longer to log than others due to mixed technology and need for sleep! The skill and talent of some Zenior Zombies helps, and maybe a spot of luck too [:o)]----------Think Covid's over ? Well no, actually... and we don't want your flu, gastro or cold germs either - so practise safe caching please! Ensure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on Clean as you go and cache the countryside Big thanks to those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas, in nice safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun for all Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!! [:o)]C'est fini... For now... ... until next time! PS:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------GCA1DNA - Great Leap Forward ... or is it backward... it takes an extra day to get to March 29.2.24 The Mega Leap Event of the year. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------And don't forget to put the June Long Weekend in your diary for 2024 too... it'll be fun and funky Oh, and Merry Christmas
