I tried solving this puzzle with a few different computer programs. Turns out, it was easier reading the instructions and doing it manually. After finishing work in the area, I had an hour before needing to get to Tuesday night sport. As such, I thought I would grab a new of the newer geocaches in the Sandringham and Black Rock areas.Yes, 3 times on the weekend, someone was sitting at this spot. Glad no-one was tonight. However, while signing the log on the seat, someone turned up and looked at me grumpily before moving off. Thanks for the cache, gmj 3191.Hunter
3 times we passed this GZ, each time different people were sitting on the nearby seat.Another time, maybe.Hunter
The weather gods have been so kind to us giving us a beautiful calm sunny winters day to cache on our trip to the other side of the bay on our long weekend mini break. We were able to use the fact that it was a weekday to our advantage as there were significantly less muggles around to see our shenanigans searching for caches in somewhat busy locations. This is certainly a gmj319 day with many puzzles solved, long awaiting to be picked up and also working through all the local multis we headed south down Beach Rd zipping in and out of all the various car parks.Solved this puzzle way back when it was published so it was great to be able to pick it up this afternoon. Thanks gmj3191 for the mystery placement.
I was due for another trip along the bay because it has been a while so spent a couple of hours and did a circular tour, visited a cafe for lunch, found some caches, climbed a tree and headed back home. It was a fun few hours.I worked on this one when it was first published and eventually got it sorted ready for this day when a few caches had built up along the bay and we needed to search for them. Pretty cool this morning so the beach area was deserted and a nice quick find was made. Thanks gmj3191 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
This was an interesting puzzle. I am listening to the History of English Podcast that discusses the evolution of English pronunciation and the reasons for inconsistencies with spelling and the ways words are sounded. The puzzle was reasonably straightforward to solve. Somebody was sitting nearby as I searched and asked what I was doing but he moved off before the container was found. Thanks to gmj3191 for the puzzle and cache.
*4 May 2024, Found @9:59AM, Find # 3808.*I thought I was on the right track to solving this one until someone gave me a nudge in a different direction and bingo. A nice easy find here.**Thanks to gmj3191 for placing this cache.**
Solved this only recently, was a quick find hereThanks gmj3191 for The Trouble with English#6156
*Found on the 2 May 2024 @ 10:22AM.**Cache find # 15593.* This is another cache that I looked at when it was first published buts thats all I did, eventually I got around to taking another look and I was eventually able to translate it and ended up with a set of coordinates.Today I had a meeting that wasnt far away and as I was a bit early I decided to have a look for this one and I headed to GZ, once there I had a bit of a look around and found the cache shortly after, I went to sign the log but discovered that my pen was no longer in my pocket so I could not sign it.It was now getting closer to my meeting time so I didnt have time to go back to the car and then back to the cache so the cache was replaced and I headed off to my meeting, a day or two later I was going passed this one again so another stop was made so that I could stroll over to sign the log making sure that I had a pen in hand.**Thanks to gmj3191 for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**
Another lovely view! A fun puzzle to solve before work this morning, too. TFTC
Loved the interesting puzzle, did it this morning and went out to grab it in the arvo. Hint made it a pretty quick find, cache looked rather empty so we put in some swag. TFTC!
Another day of caching for this silly little streak, after having a rather filling and phenomenal work dinner at my boss house I was ready to do my caches for the day. So what is on the menu now, two caches one being a non trad. With "nearby" caches continuing the dwindle I knew I was heading up this far in order to check myself off the list for the day. Arriving as the sun set, the cache was quickly spotted with the last rays of light falling over the horizon. Thanks for the cache and the little adventure.
This puzzle was something that I was familiar with but not proficient at, but at least I knew how and where to search for the answers to solve it. An early start to the day so I was able to grab a coffee and take a seat and enjoy the view. I guessed correctly what type of hide it might be and after a quick search the cache was in hand. Thanks gmj3191 for the fun puzzle and for placing the cache.. now off the enjoy St Patricks day

Beautiful night taking in sunset with Mrs S. Lots of muggles around so plenty of care taken. Tftc
I had fun solving this - I must admit to never having heard of the Shavian Alphabet. Interesting puzzle and a quick find at GZ today. TFTC
TFTC! 4 February 2024 7:30:54pm 7237 thanks to gmj3191 for the cache! Solved the cache when it came out but didnt get a chance time find in time. On the way back from sport and some caching. Surprisingly no one here they are on the beach. Made a quick find sign and return!
Another fun puzzle to solve. I was lucky to stumble across a good site for the translation while researching the Shavian alphabet. Interesting stuff. We couldnt have picked a better day to take a stroll and find a few caches along the way. Thanks to the nicely detailed hint, it was a quick find. Thanks so much gmj3191 for creating another great puzzle and for bringing us here today.
We have sooooo many solved puzzles that we decided today would be a Priority Puzzle Pickings day. We also had some TBs which had been in our possession since late last year so we wanted to move them on (in Traditionals) This was one puzzle that wasnt already solved so on Sunday night JMelb had a look at it. After a bit of playing around she soon had the co-ords in hand. I like it when there are puzzles that I can actually solve as GMelb usually does most of the solving lol GMelb made the find. As it is a relatively easy puzzle and a new one, we left a TB as we figure it will get picked up soon. TFTC gmj3191 - GJMMelb
Out today for a short trip to pick up some puzzles in the area. This was the first. I waited for a few walkers to pass before attempting a search. Found quickly and retreated to the seat to log. After a couple more walkers passed, the cache was returned. Looks like the CO must have bought a truck load of these containers. That's what I look for when it's listed as a small! My thanks for the cache, gmj3191.
I usually struggle with puzzles, but I solved the puzzle quickly. Today was the day to find the cache, so I set off to GZ early. Arriving at the spot, I found a couple of women deep in conversation, not going anywhere. Bah. I headed back to the local op shop and amused my self for a while, then back I went. Fortunately the ladies had moved on, and the cache was found and the log signed. I left a TB and picked up a TB and a pathtag.
I believe Mr Shaw wrote his plays in shorthand, and although not based on phonemes may have given him a starting point and I note that all the characters only require a single stroke of the pen to be written. Its rather interesting that Mr Shaw hears 48 phonemes but the system my kids were taught at school (Thrass) only has 44. I wonder, but am too lazy to look up, which phonemes my kids missed out on I was out supermarket shopping (joy of joys) when this cache landed in my inbox. I quickly finished shopping and sat in my car to read the puzzle. Oh, OK, lets see, this is fun I thought and soon had the answer in hand. But FTFing is no fun alone!I rang LetThemEatCache, who was having a particularly lazy staycation day and no, she had not even glanced at her phone. I said Go on, solve it, Ill meet you there I dont have a car was the reply.Ill be at your place in 10 minutes So I veered away from GZ to pick up LTEC and then straight up Beach Road to Sandringham. Out we hopped, and thanks to a great clue the cache was quickly spotted by LTEC! YAYWe sat down on the nearby bench and waited for others, but there were none. ! , .
**The Trouble with English, 18th Jan 2024**My Fair Lady (the 1964 movie version) was one of my favourite musicals when I was growing up. I loved how Eliza Doolittle started out as a lowly flower vendor with dreadful diction and under the tutelage of Henry Higgins (or as Eliza would say Enry Iggins), became a well-spoken wanna-be aristocrat. Of course it has misogynistic overtones and political incorrectness, and yada yada yada, but I loved her outfit as she cheered on Dover to move his equine rump to win a race at Ascot (watch the movie!). Why do I mention this musical? Well, it is based on the play Pygmalion written by George Bernard Shaw (he of Shavian fame) and deals with phonetics, diction and pronunciation. Like being able to identify where someone is from just by the way they pronounce their words! Whod a thunk that you could do that!Soon after publication of this puzzle, the call came in to solve it and meet the ever-resourceful Snips and Co at GZ. Not having a car, S+C was on her way which gave me the extra 10mins I needed to get the green tick! Choosing the closest carpark, we raced over to GZ to sign the blank log and claim the {FTF}.Thanks gmj3191 for coming up with this puzzle for us to get our heads (tongues?) around. Signed LetThemEatCache and Snips and Co or SALTECO something in-between. Dropped TB for the next finder. Cache on ??*Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Explore. Dream.
