Admittedly we were pretty brain fried by the time we sat down to find and log this one. It was quite warm the day of our visit and this was of course the last in the series for us to find and we were quite relieved to get the job done. As catnap777 and I explored the Pentridge Precinct using this fine series of caches as our tour guide, we saw tour groups of muggled being walked around the area and couldn't help but wonder....Imagine if, just 30 years ago, with the benefit of forsight, someone was showing inmates around the prison grounds....".... and this is where the wine cellar is going to be, and over here is a lovely icecreamery and cafe. Over there is where the Cinema is going, and right there in B division, there will be an 18-level residential and hotel tower where guests can stay for just $400 a night." Thanks fot the tour GJMMelb. Fav added.
16 November 2024 15:06What an awesome set of caches, with almost every variety catered for. dalerious and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here wandering around looking for all the clues. We definitely racked up the steps going from one end to the other, and everywhere in between. We got a bit tangled there for a while, forgetting which clue to keep for which cache; this meant visiting some areas multiple times.Apart from that minor setback, and it was only a setback because the heat was becoming oppressive. We loved the detail you put on the cache page, and also for the cache containers.A bit of history from my past........My family used to have a Mobil Service Station on the corner of Bell Street and Suffolk Avenue back in the late 60's early 70's and I remember driving past Pentridge Prison when it was a prison as a little girl.My how things have changed.......I like the way it has been developed. A good mix of accommodation and private living, but also keeping the history alive as well.dalerious and I have been looking forward to coming here and seeing how you have implemented the caches into this environment. Well, it works. You have done an amazing job.dalerious and I have shared out our favourite points so that he has given the 2 mysteries a fave, and I have given each of the multis plus the trad a fave each.Awesome caches GJMMelb, thank you for providing them for us to enjoy.
With the lab completed and 3 of the 4 lead up caches done the final of this cache was calculated and duly found.Another terrific hide which garners you another favourite point. Cheers
I was able to complete the majority of the requirements for this final today. I completed 1/4 shortly after it was published a few months ago, but hadnt written down the clues. Silly me! After finishing the other 3, I returned to 1 and got the clues, then drove my way to this one. A lovely location and a clean cache. Great container too. TFTC GJMMelb! I enjoyed my adventure-filled day.
Another breakfast and CITO out near Pentridge, so I arrived early and walked around doing puzzles, multis, and an AdLab.A lovely morning for a walk around the grounds. With all my clues in hand I calculated the final and left the breakfast a bit early.A quick find if you don't use the clue! (I think it need changing as the final has moved according to a previous finder)Thanks, Robmc.
After all the work involved in finding the clues im glad this one didnt require a lot of additional work. A terrific cache and a favourite for the whole series. I headed off for a day in Melbourne attending a few events, visiting family and filling in the rest of my time caching. Unfortunately some of my plans fell through so i cut the day short and headed home early. HMPP - Precinct to work, live and play is find number 4,101 for me. A fun small sized mystery cache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in Merri-Bek City. I am logging this one on Wednesday 2 Oct 2024 at 3:41 pm and the weather is Clear Sky 18C 54% 1 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy GJMMelb.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Ive been a bit quiet with caching lately because we are in the process of selling our home and my MILs house. They are both on the market now and given that Im not a footy fan I took the opportunity to have some me time and collect these Pentridge caches. I targeted these caches today because I knew Id be in for a treat. They didnt disappoint, I had the best afternoon and managed to find all the caches in the area required to find this one. We need more COs like you. Kudos for your brilliant work. As a cache owner I understand how much work goes into publishing hides. Thank you so much for your contribution to this game that I love so much.
After attending the monthly CITO at Coburg Lake today I was able to find this cache. I had collected the clues over the last two months and last month was unable to search for this cache due to muggles enjoying the sunshine nearby. Today the area was very quiet so I was able to do a quick search and find this nicely sized cache.Thank you GJMMelb for this cache and the others in the series. The information provided made a great learning experience.
*Found on the 17 Aug 2024 @ 3:21PM.**Cache find # 15744.* It certainly turned out to be a nice day for a stroll around Pentridge, checking out this and that while collecting clues and numbers for the multis, puzzles and AdLab in the end I had all my GZs, so off I went to find them all.I thought that this was the last one for this series for me until I went to work out the coordinates and found I was 2 numbers short, good thing was that I didnt really need them to work this one out.Once at GZ a larger than expected cache was found.**Thanks to GJMMelb for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**

Suscoe enjoyed a terrific time in the old Pentridge Prison area today. We were looking forward to this adventure as we have historical family connections to this place. We enjoyed the wandering and gathering of information and the caches.A brilliant day out enjoying caching. Thanks to GJMMelb for placing this cache. What a wonderful set of caches to do. A favourite from us.
On Day 1 back in April Id found three of this excellent series, but then my phone had died. Today was the day to finish it off - first with the Ad Lab, then the Trad, and then here. As with the rest, everything worked beautifully. Thanks GJMMelb for the guided tour.
Such a fun adventure around pentridge! Went there without the last coordinates so was a bit more difficult, just as we were about to give up I found it ! TFTC
Having completed this series over a number of visits the final was all that was left for me to find.Today was another rainy day and since I also needed a regular cache I decided to tackle this bonus for a great series.Arriving at GZ, I began searching the wet surrounds and happened upon the cache almost instantly. Now that was some luck, and some great coordinates! Thanks for a great series exploring a very interesting part of Melbournes history. A favourite point is heading your way for this collection of caches.A big thanks goes to GJMMelb for taking the time to add HMPP - Precinct to work, live and play to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Are you ready for Victorias next big event?Join us for Victorias first ever *Block Party* to celebrate 25 years of geocaching.**When:** March 22 - 23, 2025**Where:** Hume Global Learning Centre, SunburyLog your will attend at [**GCAP417: The Sunbury Event** ](https://coord.info/GCAP417) Visit our [**Block Party website** ](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/the-sunbury-event) for more details on the exciting lineup of events and activities as they are released!
Out and about with echidna44 for an enjoyable day of caching. Starting off with catching up fellow cachers for breakfast at the jail we hung around to check out some in the area. Just loved walking round and round the site seeing how this area has been transformed. This was our last for the day after collecting all the info we needed we were ready to finish of the day with this one. Nice easy find. Cache in good condition. Thanks GJMMelb for the caches and challenges here we had a great day.
After the June Breakfast, I went caching around Pentridge with xambo4u. Last one for the day. We put all the numbers together and arrived at GZ, where we were pleased to find the cache. Thanks GJMMelb.
After finally gathering all of the clues recently I sat down and worked out the coords for the final cache around Pentridge. So what else to do on a cold chilly damp Melbourne morning, go for a drive back to here to look for the final cache.Soon found a spot to park the Geowagon and off I went.A very different part of development around here. The weather must be keeping everyone inside as I had the place to myself.Looked in a few spots and soon had the cache in hand. Thanks for the great tour and also a great history lesson as well along the way.Now to get organised and book a ghost tour.A fav goes out to you for this great series. Thanks GJMMelb TFTC.
Back for the final cache in the Prison series. The GZ seemed very appropriate and I never would have come here if not for the cache. It was really moving after all the history I have learnt. The hide did take me quite a while to find but eventually signed the log and was on my way. Thanks for teaching me so much about HMPP.
I found this cache today on my Mega Walk #18 - a 22,000 step walk firstly around Coburg, then from Fawkner and onto Brunswick. In company of Tiz13, micaparamedic and BlackOpal2005 after the event, We met up with Boab Tree at this one, who were searching to no avail. mica made the quick find, then sat down nearby to see how log it would take anyone to see the cache in his hands. A nice cache hide. Thanks from D B-A
Needing some exercise and having missed today's event and city and fitfully working on a challenge, I decided to start at Fleming Park, walk along the Merri up to Pentridge and have a go at the newly created series centred on the site. I didn't quite realise that the whole trip including caches would result in roughly 19.5km of walking but I can tell you I felt it on the way back to the car as I navigated the service-laden Sydney Rd. footpath.Seeing as how this is the portion of the log which will serve as a common bit of text to all my logs of the day I want to take this opportunity to have a bit of a rave about the Pentridge series. I can see it wasn't appropriate to nominate for the 2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards but I'll be certainly nominating the series as best-in-class for the 2024 awards. This is **exactly** what geocaches are at their best: cheeky & brilliant camo, well chosen spots for hides that don't have high levels of muggle traffic, meticulously researched cache text that informs a cacher about what they are seeing as they navigate the site, accurate sets of coords and finally coverage of the bulk of a fairly large area. Well done GJMMelb a real tour de force and many thanks for a very enjoyable afternoon. My logs will include this standard blurb and then a comment or two about each cache separated from this blurb by a dividing line. ---Guess who didn't run the well thought-out AdLab whilst working out the GZ of the other caches in the series? Guess who was short two values and needed to walk around a fair chunk of the site again? After having done that I had a good set of co-ords in hand and so walked over to the GZ of this cache and began the search and continued the search and then searched some more. Once a sufficient number of cachers have killed off the plants searching for this cache I'd suggest that the nearby item of infrastructure be utilised in conjunction with the amazing camo creation skills of the CO to produce a fitting final to the series that exposes a cacher to a little less muggle scrutiny. I was searching for a sufficiently long time that I might well have been observed by a doggle owner from afar who chose to walk by once I was sitting with the container partially disassembled. The one thing which did make me smile throughout was the log which described micaparamedic's attitude regarding searching in a group and its aftermath. A very micaparamedic approach! I'm awarding this cache a FP as representative of the whole series. Thank you (once again) GJMMelb for the series.
After the CITO at Coburg Lake this morning, everyone broke off in groups and went their own way. I headed off with Tiz13, BlackOpal2005 and Rabbitto. While cutting laps of Pentridge, it became obvious that everyone had the same idea, just the order was different. We kept bumping into various groups. Friendly banter within our group and between groups added to the enjoyment we were receiving doing the new caches around this significant historic structure. This was just one of the caches we found today.Arriving at GZ, we found another team about to give up, as they had been there for a while with no luck. Our mob spread out to assist in the search, I happened to start looking in the right place and had the cache in hand within a minute or two. Thanks GJMMelb for placing this Mystery-cache, enhancing the game board and adding to our experience.
We had completed the rest of the series and had all the numbers for the coordinates of this cache. At GZ we expected to find the cache quickly. Not to be. We looked and looked and used the hint and found some random ball Muggle Husband deemed important, but no cache. Eventually the other group of cachers from the CITO, who had done the watchtower cache in the opposite direction to us, turned up. I had to admit failure to find, and blamed Muggle Husband for his lame efforts and preoccupation with the yellow ball. I tasked the new crew with finding the cache, expecting them to flounder like us, but Micaparamedic found it in pretty much the first place he looked, bless him. Very embarrassing, so I blamed Muggle Husband some more. The log was signed and we headed home. Thanks for a great series.
It appeared that most of the cachers from the CITo today had the same plan. So off we headed in our various groups to find this new series. Tiz13 teamed up with micaparamedic, BlackOpal2005 and Rabbitto. What an awesome series we all enjoyed ourselves as we cut laps of the prison. Passing some of the other groups as we went..after gathering much information we made our way to GZ where a plea for help was made by BoabTree who was having trouble finding this cache..we all spread out to search while micaparamedic calmly found the cache and sat down to sign it, without mentioning it to anyone....lol..... Until we noticed what was in his hand lol... another favourite for the series and the quality caches, they were a pleasure to find.
Out and about with My good caching mate Omegaman1971, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles. This is one of the caches found today. We bumped into OHC and Kez at this location. Thanks GJMMelb for the cache.
What a wonderful series this was. Not just for the fun we had completing the various caches but for the huge amount of information offered at each stop. It was quite an eye opener. I look forward to being able to head back here and take more time to have a better look around. Thank you for all that you have done bringing this to my attention and for the huge effort that has gone into formulating and placing this great series.
Teamed up with Geoturtle37 to check out the new Pentridge caches. Joint 2TF with GT37. We found the ball mentioned in the previous log, so knew we were in the right spot. For future finders, its NOT the sprinkler! After citoing a few bottles and cans, we eventually uncovered the nicely themed cache. A fav point for this lovely series of caches and the history lesson. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, GJMMelb ~~
Out once again with Rebel Acts putting some smiles on the map, always great to be on the geo hunt. This is one of the caches we successfully found today, Cheers for the cache.
