Over here for kids cricket, so once that was done, time to find a few boxes. Cheers, I had a stroll through here last time I was over and it was a nice walk.
Vielen Dank GH6710 fr diesen Tradi!_________________________________________________I had planned a day in Akaroa and the surrounding area today. Although it was nice and sunny in the afternoon, the boat tour to the Hector's dolphins was cancelled. What a shame, I still had this tour in my head from 2011 and still rave about it today. Maybe it just wasn't meant to be, so I'll just keep the best memories of that tour. Nevertheless, I took a nice walk through Akaroa, then travelled along Summit Road with various stops and walks and enjoyed the fantastic view with lots of sunshine.Of course, a day like this isn't perfect without geocaches. So I combined a visit to the lighthouse in Akaroa with a walk through the Garden of Tane to the cache of the same name and searched for, found and logged the cache. Many thanks to GH6710 for this tradi!
Quickly found today while on a walk around lovely Akaroa!Logbook signed at 14:50 Saturday, 17th August Cache number 371, TFTC!
This was a quick find near the end of Nosynel's and my caching day trip to the peninsula. Years ago I remember orienteering through this park. Tftc. #10391
Jude_E and I are on a mini geocaching trip around the the peninsula. . Believe it or not there are a few caches in the area that we have not found. Thanks for hiding this cache GH6710 I appreciate it.
#23634. Good to visit the GOT again (though we didn't need to venture far into it). Troodles made a quick find of the nicely hidden cache. TFTC.
We have visited the Garden of Tane a few times before (all geocaching related), and pleased we had time for a quick visit. A family group arrived the same time as us, so we had to wait for them to walk on before searching. I love it when the cache is in the first place I looked / groped . Just as we were returning to the car, our muggle passengers messaged to say that they were ready to be picked up from near the wharf. Have we time to carry on the Takapneke? The answer was Yes, as we were in an awkward spot to do a U-turn. Good excuse, eh? TFTC.
We were docked in Akaroa New Zealand for the day on our ship - Holland America's Volendam. We started by going to the lighthouse for a cache and then headed up into the hills into the Garden of Tane. What a beautiful place and trails! We then kept going up and did other caches in a few cemeteries and at two monuments. We then went back down and did a few caches and a LAB in Town. We wound up with 9 caches on the day in our 9-mile hike/walk combo.Thank you to GH6710 for 4 of our caches and to the other 5 COs for their efforts and for the other 5 caches.Thank you also to the Lab creator for that Adventure.#####################This Cache: Quick Find by Salts while Marbles was looking in another place.
This morning we are free and decide to take a walk in the area. We also visit a number of caches. Tftc
What a cool play ground just along the track from here. I really liked the mature trees.
Moving on from the dead centre of french influence in Akaroa it was onto the Garden of Tane. It's only been a few days of cruise food and free grog but I really felt like the xmas cheer has caught me, making it a sweaty walk to this cache. Its good to get a 2024 cache early on, my first of the year. Thanks GH6710 for the cache and hint for an easy find.
A lovely hide in a beautiful garden. I have had a few picnics here as a youngster. Thanks for setting this up. TFTH
We loved our walk through the Garden of Tane, completed with a quick find of this cache. TFTC GH6710
Our second day in Christchurch. But today we got our rental car. As we got the car, it was raining quite a bit. What a day!But as soon as we neared Akaroa, it was a bit better. It was not sunny and warm, but dry!So we made a leisure walk in and around this area. With a geocache even more so! We found this youngster of a cache as well, what a suprise. TFTC and greetings from Germanyaussi96
