Automatic translation; En : we stop on this virtual site to take the requested photo. Bravo to all these women who are working for equality. Thank you to all the installers for the work carried out for our greatest pleasure. Greetings from France. Our Travel Bugs pass through this cache but do not come out of our backpack; they continue the adventure with us. Trip to New Zealand, decided very quickly , but that didn't stop us from preparing a small file of caches to search, as far as possible. The GC46 was, of course, at the top of that list! and there you have it, we visited it during our stay in Wellington. Yesss!! Our program should allow us to discover a large part of this country.Fr : nous faisons un arrt sur cette virtuelle afin de prendre la photo demande. Well, NZ was first to give women the right to vote but the first country in the world to give women both the right to vote AND the right to run for office was my homecountry . TFTV
First solved the lab here and then then the pic for virtual too.Of course smarter now also This place indeed has to have a cache, thanks for placing!
It was lovely to spend a while here and pay my respects to these amazing women. Thanks for the cache
I spent the day in the inner city of Christchurch visiting a the few caches - mostly newer ones - and this was one . i did not realised there were 2 sculptures in the city about the sufferage movement and i had not visited this one before so i balanced my GPS on her knee and took the required photo . I rather liked this sculpture as it had a a feeling of warmth around it . Thank you for bringing me to this sculpture as in today's world , where young girls/women dont want to be identified as a female - which is so incongruous for what then the women worked so hard to achieve . indeed - First in the world ! Women to be recognised as Women ! What determined brave women we had then !

CaptainVimes and I have crossed the ditch to attend the Geo Toroa mega in Dunedin and tour around the South Island for two weeks. We're being given a personal walking tour by our muggle friend and stopped here for a quick photo. Thanks angelic_kiwi and happy caching
Another stop on our tour - Christchurch. After the terrible damage from the earthquakes, which can still be seen on some buildings, the city is beautiful.Walking along the Avon River is simply wonderful.Lots of leisure activities, great sculptures, lots of restaurants and opportunities to relax your soul and flat feet. So we stroll from can to can and diligently collect the lab caches. We explore the city in wonderful weather. A big thank you to all the owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi from Germany
One of a couple virtuals we did on our hunt around Chch this afternoon, tftc!
Excellent memorial, one of many superb attractions along the river today. Photo attached, TFTC.
I am glad I found this on my brief exploration of Christchurch on a rainy evening before heading to the mega in Dunedin. This is a bit tucked away, but commemorates such an important event in history. TFTC *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Outnabout with Chamad, Snickersallan & Bluewattle on my first ever trip across the ditch. After a week of caching around Brisbane and at events last month with other Geo friends, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to hop on board for a NZ Mega adventure. Another great day for caching. TFTC angelic_kiwi
Thanks for placing and maintain for our enjoyment Found with Snickersallan, Wollaston and chamadVisiting Christchurch for a few days before heading down to attend Geotora Mega
After attending a nearby event, our little group decided to look for a virtual cache and an adventure lab before calling it a night after a long and busy day.Thank you, angelic_kiwi, for placing this good virtual cache.
We are four ladies from Sweden on visit in New Zealand. We log as TULP (tigertassen, ursus67, lnganfans and pidjas). Today we took a walking tour in the city of Christchurch. We walked quite some time and the weather was a bit cool so we stayed for a warm coffee. A big thank you to CO for the cache.
Hlsningar frn Sverige, sdra Lappland Then it was time for a little adventure. The trip goes to Sydney in Australia and then on to Christchurch and Dunedin in New Zealand .On the trip are, Tigertassen, myself, ursus67, Lnganfans and Pidjas go, which means that we log under the common name "Tulp". The idea is that before we go home we should have visited a Megaevent, Geo Toroa. Greetings from Sweden, southern Lapland
We are four ladies from Sweden who are visiting Australia and New ZeelandThis was one of the caches we found Thanks from Sweden
Day seven of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.Staying in Christchurch and spent the day at the Antarctic Center (with a few caches on the side!)We did an AdLab stage here then continued on and didn't realise there was a virtual here until later. We made tracks back here and arrived at the same time as a ladies walking group!Took a while until we could take our photos. Thanks, Robmc.
Day seven of our Enzed trip with Robmc. We are staying in New Brighton and spent the day at the Antarctic Center and then collected a few targetted caches this afternoonWe missed this one the other day when we were in town so it was nice to visit it today. Thanks for contributing to our holiday angelic kiwi
A bright and sunny day in Christchurch (selfies arent so easy in these conditions - thats my excuse any way!). I was walking home from the CBD, past this spot, and I remembered the Virtual here - a good spot to be recognised in this way. Thank you for this Virtual cache, angelic kiwi.
A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again.I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island. So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me.Everything was booked and I flew in yesterday after a bit of a delay.Im staying at the old Offices Mess building at the old Airforce Base and it is a wonderful old building.Day 2 begins so lets go find a few caches.Enjoying my walk around town on foot and taking in a lot of the sites and scenery. It is a shame about all of the damage that the quake caused but it is great to see the town rising above adversity.Soon came across the ladies and it was an interesting read on the plaques and great to see a memorial to all involved. Thanks angelic_kiwi TFTVC.
We are spending a few days travelling to Dunedin for the Mega and stopped here for the cache TFTC
Two weeks holiday in New Zealand with laalaa. Nice place. Thanks for the virtual cache
A very interesting and important part of the history of this area. A virtual in New Zealand as well. TFTC.
Day #2 Christchurch - The Mega New Zealand ExperienceA chance for an overseas Mega was too good to pass up. Especially with half the state seeming to be attending also. I set about some last minute planning. Flights still available Accommodation found Mode of transport securedLooks like its time to cross the ditch. Ive never visited the South Island before so it is bound to be a fun filled trip.I arrived after dark last night so today is my first chance to see the sights.I dropped in to visit this cache along with some others in town.A big thanks goes to angelic_kiwi for taking the time to add Suffragettes Virtual Reward 4.0 (Canterbury) to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Wow! The fun just never stops.Have you logged your will attend for Victoria's first ever Block Party? (Think Mega but even more special!)Join us on 22-23 March 2025 in Sunbury to celebrate 25 years of geocaching by logging your will attend at [**GCAP417**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).
Came with Ramakristan looking for this Virtual, turned out hidden behind the building. Nice Virtual.TFTC to Co.
Was finding all over for this Virtual with my geo wife Pomegranate & turned out it is at the back of it hidden so well.A good virtual & my apology coz was running short of time to go to airport to catch our flight to Sydney. TFTC to Co, a good historical place for a virtual.
Impressive, how advanced New Zealand was at that time. Many advanced countries followed only very long afterThanks for showing this memorial. TFTVRapu Taonga
Yesterday was a quite relaxed day of driving, we only did a small lab cache station in Oamur, before we have been heading to Christchurch and there it was definitely no weather for GC. It was pouring down heavily.Luckily today it was already much better, even there was still some wind and lower temperatures, however we made our way into town and completed 2 Labcache rounds in the city Center and in the botanical garden. Beside that we made a round tour with the old trams, distances could have been walked easily by feet, but it was a nice experience and lovely in this old restored trams. The drivers also had a lot of information about the areas we were driving through. We hopped off several times, for coffe and lunch, but also for the earthquake museum, which is really worth to go. Before we entered there I was able to pick up at least one tradi. So that I was able to sign a log book beside this virtual and the lab caches.Christchurch is a beautiful city and it is amazing to see how it has developed after the quakes in 2010/11.Cant wait for tomorrow. Thanks to the owners of the different caches for your efforts into the caches. Really enjoyed finding them and getting a good idea about the city. Selfie looks awful
Found while on a pleasant bike tour of Christchurch Central. I'd been here before and I think I'd found a trad nearby, but I'm glad I got to find this one and under different (read: better) circumstances. Good to re-visit a little bit of history about New Zealand - even after ten years here I'm still learning, good to get a refresher. Cheers!
Out in town for a walk and lunch, grabbing some caches on the way around! Never managed to find the traditional cache while it was active, nice replacement!Cool spot, felt very exposed though.Cache found at 13:01 Saturday, 3rd July. Cache number 368, TFTC!
I've had at least 3 previous visits here before, at least twice for a trad that eluded me on my first visit. Hopefully one of these days the building behind will finally be restored.
Cool and important spot, thanks for placing this virtual as I would have not noticed this was here. Cheers
Wandering the town with Wiley - only a couple more days in New Zealand. Greetings from California and Yay! For suffragettes everywhere!
We are all the way down here in NZ to support our daughter at a sporting competition. And we are making the most of our time to check out the beautiful city of Christchurch and grab some Southern hemisphere caches!Today was freezing (who decided to come to NZ in the winter?!) but it didn't stop us checking out some great local caches. TFTC.
Exploring Christchurch before flying back home tonight. Thanks for bringing us here
After meeting my daughter for lunch, we wandered around for a bit & whilst she looked for souvenirs, I looked for caches! This was my next stop & for a moment I wondered if I might struggle to get to GZ with works going on nearby. But the way proved to be clear & we made our way around to take the requisite photograph. Thanks for highlighting this interesting memorial to true pioneering.Found at 15:51Cache #10357TFTC angelic_kiwi
Wondering around Christchurch with the Uni student during mid year break, and we came across this one that we had somehow missed on previous visits....not today.....Image attached.TFTC.
I am staying in Christchurch with That Darn Bear for an extra long long weekend. Today is mostly about ad labs, plaus whatever we passed along the way.The blue icon of a virtual is a significant drawcard, so of course we made our way here.Proud of you, Kate, Well done.Photos of the bear and the Seagnoid attached.
The Seagnoid has come to stay for a long weekend and have some caching adventures. Today we ventured out to find a heap of Ad Labs, and a few others along the way. We made sure to get the required photo for this virtual on the way past. Thanks for setting this one up. Photo attached.
Thanks for bringing me here, indeed this deserves a virtual.Logging a bit late, I was in Chc earlier this month for a TKD tournament. While I logged all traditionals then, not yet all virtuals but getting there now.
Great tribute to these brave women. Thanks for the virtualfound while visiting the city.
Thank you angelic_kiwi for selecting this place to put a cache Great reminder about Katherine Sheppard and the other people who we have to thank for women's suffrage in NZ and around the world
In Christchurch with AlpiSteve for a full on music weekend. Brunch at Riverside Market before heading to our third and final gig nearby. Quick detour here on the way TFTC
Thanks so much angelic_kiwi for placing this Virtual cache to remind us all of this important time in our history! Women's suffrage and gaining the right to vote was an awesome achievement by Kate Sheppard and deserves to be acknowledged. Thanks for bringing me here
Had a good bit of free time in Christchurch, so I was able to wander about the central part of the city for four hours and collect a total of thirteen finds.
Took the opportunity to duck out from a conference lunch so I could further educate myself and visit this location. I enjoyed a stretch of the legs too! TFTC!

Came along here while doing some of the ad labs, almost needed to double back when I saw this was also a virtual, TFTC
I was in the city, running some errands and had a bit of spare time to find a couple of caches before I had to head home. A great spot for a virtual cache. Took photo of my geo-logbook. Attached.
Such an interesting story and wander around. Thanks for setting this cache up. TFTC
While in the South Island of New Zealand for a 20 day walking experience. We started at Christchurch and ended here. It took a couple of times to walk around the work area but finally noticed the statue. Great pieced of history. Thanks angelic kiwi. Greetings from Australia
Returning from Antarctica and in town for 34 hours before flying home to the States. This was a delightful walk from my hotel in the early morning foggy hours with a flat white from nearby Belle. Thanks!
Having a great time exploring Christchurch between two cycle tours. What a great thing these pioneers did, championing the rights of women way back then - - - and what a long time it is taking for women to be treated as equal with men in every facet of life (sigh). A fantastic sculpture to honour these women. Thanks for the virtual .
A worthy memorial and virtual. Thank you for pointing it out - I might have missed it with the building works going on nearby. Tftvc
Pass this place often, and today stopped on the way home. Great place for a virtual cache. Thanks for bringing us here.
A quick and easy virtual to do before to visit the city center of Christchurch. Thanks for the discovery of this monument.
Thanks for hiding this cache angelic_kiwi I appreciate it. I decided to focus today's bikeride on your Virtual. I biked through town to your cache and back home via part of the Linwood and Ferry Road circuit. Merging three or five cycleway routes by using quiet roads. I biked 30.5km.When I reached an area near your virtual I was worried that it might be fenced off. Thankfully it wasn't. I wish female voters would pay attention to the fact that women had to fight to have the right to vote. It is so important to vote during an election.
Exploring Christchurch on my first full day here. Basically just wandering from cache to cache. TFTC!
In Christchurch visiting the grown up kids. Had the afternoon free to cycle around collecting was caches. Approached GZ and thought the area might be behind fencing but all was fine. Have been here on previous geocaching adventures. Quick photo. Thanks for the smiley
Found this interesting location while doing a tour of the Nth Island from Aussie !Amazing the places the hobby of Geocaching takes you ??.Angelic Kiwi Thanks for placing your Virtual Here ! and a Fav point for you Too !!
On our tourney in NZ. Greetings from Finland and TFTC. Finland has womens right to vote since 1906 as first country in Europe.
On our twentieth day in New Zealand we drive from Dunedin to Christchurch. This beautiful cache was on our way.TFTCHennesAt the end comes the poem of the day.New Zealand By James K. Baxter (for Monte Holcroft)These unshaped islands, on the sawyers bench,Wait for the chisel of the mind,Green canyons to the south, immense and passive,Penetrated rarely, seeded onlyBy the deer-cullers shot, or else in the northTribes of the shark and the octopus,Mangroves, black hair on a boxers hand. The founding fathers with their guns and bibles,Botanist, whaler, added bones and namesTo the land, to us a bridleAs if the id were a horse: the swampy townsLike dreamers that struggle to wake,Longing for the poets truthAnd the lovers pride. Something new and oldExplores its own pain, hearingThe rains choir on curtains of grey mossOr fingers of the Tasman pressingOn breasts of hardening sand, as actorsFind their own solitude in mirrors,As one who has buried his dead,Able at last to give with an open hand.
Found with Jaguars96 as we explore Christchurch today. Thanks for the virtual cache and history lesson. Gave it a FAVE POINT.
We are from the US and doing a cruise. Getting a few caches at each stop. This one was interesting that women could vote by 1893. Gets a favorite point. Thanks for the cache.
During our cruise from New Zealand, via Australia, Tasmania, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Mystery Island, Fiji, Bora Bora, Moorea, Tahiti, Raiatea, Maui, Kaua?i, O?ahu and Hawai?i Island we also passed by here and found this cache.T4tc and best regardsJoskaranch
What a beautiful country (and what a beautiful place here)! TftCSiamFee (together with Siamkiwi)
On our first day in NZ, Christchurch we (SiamFee and I) fought against the jetlag and walked around the city.So we found this virtual. Very interesting.Thx for this virtual. The Siamkiwi
An honour to visit this monument today. I have UK suffragettes in my ancestry. Many thanks for doing this Virtual cache and greetings from the UK
Muggle-hubby and I spent the day in Christchurch back in February. (I'm only getting to finish my logging now). We had travelled from Brisbane to Dunedin so that muggle-hubby could play basketball in the New Zealand Masters Games, and when I'd finished watching his games and could get away, I'd go caching. I had a list of about 60 caches on my wish-list. I think I got maybe 30-40 caches done. Some lovely Oldies, some good D/T combos, some caches with lots of Favourite Points, and anything else that I could find whilst my husband was otherwise diverted.I really enjoyed the tributes to women around Christchurch and the history in the whole of the South Island that had been preserved. Thanks, angelic_kiwi, for bringing this area to my attention.
Visiting from the USA while cruising around Australia and New Zealand. Love getting off the boat to explore new countries and finding geocaches. Thank you for the smiley Favorite for sure
