Had a good look around and didnt find it, very frustrating long search, maybe I need to think on another train of thought??
back today for take 2.area has changed a lot since we were here last.things don't seem to match hint and a Paf bought more misery.Squirrel Nutcase opted to read every thing in description and found logs as i searched.bingo found it and than it was fun to open ,sign and return.TFTC
Well we spent way too long searching here. No container found. Didn't understand the hint as couldn't spot 5-6 logs near any trees so looked wide but nothing. Visiting Hamilton so won't get a chance to come back, frustrating!
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Continuing a mission to reach my next milestone before Geo Toroa in October. Here we are again, visiting the good old Waikato regionWe returned to Te Anau Park with a purpose - To try to avenge our DNF on this hide. Right away, we spotted some subtle differences at ground zone. Were unsure how this fitted, but most of the sawn logs that used to be here, had now been removed After minutes of blind searching, we reached out to the help-desk. The intel received suggested a search area much further than our iPhone gps was showing. With nothing to lose, we followed instruction. Still nothing!I withdrew to read and interpret some logs, and Gap continued searching. After minutes, Gap signalled that he found something What a very cool cache! Yes, it did take time to unlock and close the maze. A very cool cache and a satisfying ending. Thanks RStewey2. TFTC.
In Hamilton today with EyespyBen Had a bit of time and in the areaAwesome give it a favorite
**21,111**Very pleased to be able to turn this frown upside down. Cache was missing on our previous visit but knowing it had been replaced we were keen to collect it. Mr Geckoh always enjoys these type of caches and had the log in hand quickly. Thank you for the fun cache - favourite point from us! TFTC
Thanks for your amazing cache RStewey2. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.Loved the hint in the hint. Found with Fisha1288 Took longer to open than to find. An awesome cache and earns a favorite from me. Cheers, Cympull.
Took me a bit for the GPS to settle and the cache blends into its surrounds really well. It was a fun challenge to extract the log as you always feel like you are making progress, I really enjoyed this TFTC
Return visit today, this time found with the help of Kev, took a while to get it open but eventually got there
Just did a quick check to make sure it didn't go missing again. Confirmed it is still happy and snug, ready to log.
Found the "nearby logs" made extensive search, widened area, made another extensive search - came up empty
No luck with this one today, thought I was in the right spot but nothing to be found. Will have to come back another day.
Just ran a replacement container down. Not sure if newly fallen tree is related or not. Going to take a quick look around for the original. Shoot me a note if you find both.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Our big focus was on attending this months instalment of (February) 18@18. We timed our run into Hamilton to begin in the early afternoon, and we cached along a circuitous corridor into the event.Searching for this hide ate up a lot of precious time for us. We searched high and low, near and far... 'We endured blistering winds and scorching deserts. We climbed to the highest bloody room of the tallest bloody tower... And what did we find?' Gap sent out an SOS message to the help desk (a previous finder) and it was confirmed that the cache was probably missing. Next time!
its a DNF for us here today.Rang a previous finder who had by chance visited GZ this morning and confirmed it was missing.
Bit late logging our DNF, we just needed a blood transfusion due to the mosquito feeding frenzy at GZ...had a step by step instruction from a previous finder, who later in the week confirmed it was not where it was when he found it.
2nd cache for the later afternoon for KGD and I after we found the other new one nearby. It appeared to be disabled so I messaged the owner who replied he didnt know this was so. So after we found the 1st one we went onto this one. Once we got to GZ it was an easy find but took us some time to get into it. deserves another favourite point. Well done. Another Joint [FTF] with KGD
Saw two new cache notifications yesterday - virtually in my back yard - but was not in the running for the first to find so left both for today when there'd also be a bit more daylight. As it was still unpleasantly hot, it was fantastic to find the cache in a shady spot where I could work on getting to the log in relative comfort. Extracting the log was just the right amount of challenge to avoid being frustrating. TFTC
After finding the other recently published cache ZL1CJH and I made our way to this one. Wandered around a bit as the GPS bounced around before we got our hands on it. Then the fun began. With fading light we managed to open the cache to find a blank log. Another joint {FTF}. Then we had to put it back as we found it. This also took a little time. Happy we head home. Thank you for the placement.
