Logs
GAR was meeting with someone nearby for USAR training so I went to do an AdLab and took the opportunity to come and find this one, something I've been wanting to do since it was published. Took a moment for some odd reason but made the find and was greeted by a blank log of all things. Then discovered there has been some recent maintenance. Thanks for another cool hide Jarstrat! FP.
MrNZT carried on past the old kilns to collect this one. Cache found OK But Log full. TFTC!
Had an hour between appointments, thought Id wander down this for some searching way and check out the new loos as well. They didnt disappoint !Shame about the highway next door though pretty tranquil otherwise, dont think it joins up t o the show grounds but that would be real nice. Just sayin.Cheers again JAR !
With the forecast for Friday being good and Saturday being rubbish, I decided to head out to Matakana today to make the most of the sunshine and to do some more caching in the area. Stopped here while completing the Warkworth Adventure Lab and took a short stroll to the cache, which was quickly spotted according to the hint. Very nice little hide, FP added. TFTC!
This turned out to be my last cache of the day. I'd done the Adlab point in this reserve and was going to carry on with that but decided to head for Auckland so I could meet the Grandkids from school and daycare.I'd previously done G_2's cache by the kilns but had needed some video help to find it. I do like the lime kilns in the area. This is the first time I've walked this part of the track as it was closed the other times. Nice to see the track looking good and the lovely new boardwalk in place. Grand old trees here and a cute little cache hide. Thanks Atty for your effort to make this neat hide
We are out with Team Welsh today for a big day of caching around Warkworth and Omaha. After doing a nearby Lab cache waypoint we made our way to Attys Hide, where we found another nicely crafted cache. Thanks.
The men of TW and KC went off to find this while the ladies wandered into town for some lunch. Part of the path was closed off so they went bush and came out where they needed to. No problems with the cache and it was 100% find rate for us today and most of them were yours. TFTC
After struggling to find the first cache along here, we decided to come and see what delights this CO had in store, and we'd have another go at the other one on our way back.Approaching GZ I read the hint and then spent 5 minutes crawling around looking for a cache. Then I realised that there were 2 of the hint items and the other one was about 14m away at GZ!When I got to the actual GZ I found the cache instantly. What a cute house that is!Alas that was where the problem started. After signing the log I could not get it to roll back up. In the end I gave it to Daddypig, who also had trouble. Eventually we did roll it up enough to get everything put back where it was meant to be.
We've been asked if we're related to or have had lessons from G_2 before, but this it the first time we've been straight up called him
It has been a while since I have cached in Warkworth so today I decided to go there to sign off a few caches.A nice little walk in the bush.Cheers for the cache, G-2.
How cute! Well done to the creator of this cache. 2nd official find for my family and me. On to the next
Loved the camo on this one. How creative. Definite favourite. Nobody about so made a nice quick find. [TFTC]
We struggled to find this.Just as Jag logged a dnf I found the very cute cache.Well designed Thanks.Fav point.
Out with the Westie ladies on a sunny Autumnal day on a caching adventureWe were expecting a quick find here as we had a previous finder with us. However this was not the case. Just as Jag logged a DNF , Net spied the cute wee cache - talk about Murphys law!!! Before we had time to delete the DNF log we had a message back from the CO, who was in the area, that the cache was indeed there!Congratulations Atty on this clever construction. TFTC
Cute little hide. Tried to sign the log but pen didn't want to write will come back and sign another day. Tftc
Very clever hide , thought you might be a carpenter ? Nicely done here - took a quick photo, also is a nice walk through here. Many thanks for placing
Im out with The Wonderstuff for a bit of caching around Warkworth and Omaha today. This is a lovely bit of bush and I enjoyed the walk here with the song of tuis above us. This is a cute wee cache and gets a FP from me
Just time before a work function to go for a quick walk in the bush. Some of the path has been washed away a bit.Once at GZ, the neat little cache was soon spotted. A simple little cache that has been well executed and gets a FP from me. TFTC
.2216. Last time I wanted to find a geocache in this part of the park the trail was closed. Great to see some significant upgrades. We walked the lower side to start before looping back to GZ. Found with Li0npaw and GRAkiWi. TFT(Kowhai)C.
Was heading up this way to have a day visiting Family members, who are staying at Point Wells for a week..Noticed with some excitement, that there were some new Jarstrat hides up this way!.Kowhai Park was a perfect distance from home to stop and stretch my legs! Thanks Atty and team!Cute and unexpected type of hide!I always love this bush walk...and seeing where the lime kilns were.On my way out, I saw a Forest and Bird volunteer spraying weeds! He nearly had a heart attack when I said hello. He said sadly this lovely track is very under utilised....and he has been clearing weeds there for years and hardly ever sees anyone...Really enjoyed my wander...highly recommend coming here...
We had planned to head into Warkworth today to explore and find a few caches so headed up early to maximise the day.We started off in this park where we found the nearby "Ruins in the park" cache first and then headed over to look for this one, not realising it had actually just been published. So we had the most relaxed and stress free hunt for a first to find we have ever experienced. Normally we anxiously head for GZ, hearts beating fast, checking for logs as we go.We had actually already had a FTF today in Ellerslie on the way here so the geocaching gods were certainly looking after. We could easily not have visited this park at all today and gone elsewhere and only decided to do so at the last minute as we drove past. A real case of being in the right place at the right time.It was a lovely walk to GZ on this very beautiful pathway and we enjoyed looking at the amazing trees. One at GZ we thought we knew where the cache would be but soon realised we were wrong but our geosenses were working well today and we quickly spotted the awesome cache. Not what we expected and very nicely done.We were awarded with a blank log and had a laugh at our ignorance of it being a new cache. Thanks Jarstrat for a great hide in a beautiful location. A definite favourite point from us.{FTF} 8:53am
