At GZ, we had our own cyclone shelter from any possible storm, hidden behind the rock wall. Not that we needed sheltering today, as everything was perfect in the way of weather. We had blue skies and no wind and a high tide. Who could ask for more! All good at GZ. Thanks Team 737. Domsky
We came up to Newie again this week for about the third weekend in the last four, this time to attend the [HAVOC Flotilla](https://coord.info/GCAZBVQ) event on the Newcastle harbour which was fun. We decided we might set sail up Cockle Creek after the event which was, obviously, a great idea on a day like this! We skipped [#7 of the series](https://coord.info/GL1BY9DX6) as I'd found that one with the other geokid on foot back in April. Lot's of model planes flying at the nearby airport as we zoomed past, including a couple of control-line planes having a dog fight. Once we got past all the noise of the planes we pulled in at GZ where we found yet another cache in excellent condition. also with a nice dry log. TFTC and series, team737.#2066
I have been wanting to this kayak cache series since it first got published. But my sister who lives so close at Teralba no longer has kayaks, so I had to bring one up from Sydney. Glad I did as it was a really nice paddle from the mouth of Cockle Creek on Lake Mac up to the weir, finding and signing 15 caches along the way, then paddling back down. TFTC lee737
#7682Ventured north with [@Purplepeopleater](https://coord.info/PR4X0DC) and [@bella at waggy](https://coord.info/PR5DQ4Z) lured by the Cockle Creek series. Met up at the carpark and organised our car shuffle before hitting the water just before 9am with 2 yaks and a SUP. Excellent home made containers.TFTC lee737
An excellent morning with Crash and B@W paddling this marvellously reclaimed creek. All containers were in excellent condition.SL TFTC
Found on 28/4 with Mighty Minions & 2pods. A beautiful day with calm waters. Thanks for placing these caches here.
Another day of work but time to slip out at get a few more in this series. A different launch spot but needed a CITO. Easy paddling on the SUP. The extra height was good for some spots and so was stepping on and off. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Just how many of the items mentioned in the hint are there in this series! Completed with the help of Mighty Minions and Goldberry17. TFTC!
Out caching with 2pods and Goldberry17 today. the weather was brilliant, and the water was very smooth. we had lots of laughs, and I really enjoyed the day. the caches were all found with no problems and in good condition. Thanks for the cache lee737 tnln replaced as found sl
Decided to drag the canoe all the way to Newcastle so had to make good use of it! Did the cockle creek series and a nearby adventure lab today, not sure if the weather is good enough tomorrow. Good quality made for good fun!TFTC Wilbert67
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 13176.A day of paddling with Deni_f and Banj on Cockle Creek this morning. With the tide due to hit high at 8am we made an early start at 7. With two kayaks and one stand up paddle board we covered 11.7km in 3hours 59 minutes. Another great cache in the series, found without issue. I love the effort youve gone to with these containers. The rocks are a bit slippery. Thanks lee737 for the cache.
Find#1880After these caches were published I was very keen to get them with all of the different DT ratings. After Banj asked me, Today was the day. Came out with Big Matt also and had an absolutely glorious day finding these caches. I wish I had 15 favourite points as this was such a fun series to do. Matt had calculated that we paddled a little over 11km and a bit over 4hrs in total at a very casual pace Ill add. Thanks for a great series Team 737. Log and cache in good condition. TFTC
A great day to be out on the water finding some geocaches. Joined today by Big Matt on a SUP and Deni F in a kayak that an extremely nice bloke borrowed for him to use.TFTC
Find No: 9188. Out for a great morning with Yella Belly & shaneo58 , thanks for the cache Team737!!
Launched the old "Yella Belly" today and as I am the Captain I picked up an unlikely crew in shanoe58 as Retriever of caches and Grub Fred as passenger (and secretary) to do the Cockle Creek caches. Well it was a fun trip up the river with nobody falling overboard. caches were well hidden but with keen eyes they were found. Thanks Team737 for the series.
Out on the water today starting from the launch point near the railway bridge and heading upstream of there. Once at GZ, I poked the kayak in amongst the greens and soon spotted the cache. This is all going well, thanks for the hide and the series now on to #9.
Another land based attack with this cache. I should have read the previous finder s log as I got bit by a wasp. Might call it a day. TFTC TEAM737
FTF! (1:20pm, full log to follow)Dont worry, Im only getting the one, and will leave the rest unclaimed. Why did I choose this one? Thats a good question that Im asking myself right now Happy hunting![log, supplemental]Right... I'm back at home again and nursing my wounds. I set up notifications this morning for the first time in more than 5 years, just before these were published... so this long-awaited FTF was meant to be. After some desktop investigations, I chose a land-route for this one. I don't really live next door, and didn't leave immediately, so I was surprised not to meet some like-minded souls on site.I also thought that I might be getting those Terrain stars the easy way, but boy did I earn them all, in the end!Parked nearby and approached from the South. Came dressed to get wet... but that left me a little under-prepared for the eventual bush-bashing... what was I thinking?! Hot sun, middle of the day, sticks, thistles, nettles, tall grass (no snakes, phew) and WASPS.**OMG the wasps, near GZ!! [on the land route... the water route should be fine] **They really don't play fair and give you 'warning-shot-across-the-bow', do they? Instead BAM... BAM BAM BAM, and you're left wondering in which direction to retreat without pissing them off further! I eventually extracted myself... but since I'd come this far, I wasn't leaving without my smiley! I found another approach and soon had the cache in hand... and still had dry feet! I did NOT follow my footsteps out again, and eventually made it back to the car for a cool down. Adventure, TFTH. Next time I come by boat... it'll be easier, I reckon .I was surprised to find no waterproofing for the log, inside the primary container, but the CO later confirmed that this was all by design, and in any case, the log is 'Rite in the Rain'.Again, TFTH and another creative cache series!
