We parked the car not far from the Pylonparking coordinates, and paddled our way directly up to this one without stopping. Its a perfect morning to be out on the creek, the birdlife on our paddle over that couple of kilometres was full of Kingfishers, one white belly sea Eagle, some herons and various other birds. The creek is beautiful at this time of the year with many of the gums and wattle flower. It was very quiet out here other than the noisy cicadas. Log signed. A FP added. Thanks Team737Domsky
We came up to Newie again this week for about the third weekend of the last four, this time to attend the [HAVOC Flotilla](https://coord.info/GCAZBVQ) event on the Newcastle harbour which was fun. We decided we might set sail up Cockle Creek after the event which was, obviously, a great idea on a mild and still morning such as this! Today, the pilot of team novo was captaining [our water TOTT](https://coord.info/TB9QQJD) while I was doing all the navigating and grabbing. This was our final one right up the end which we found just on 90mins after finding #1. All the caches in this series are in excellent condition with nice dry logs in them. Can't recommend this series enough. Now for a fruit snack to start our journey back to the Speers Point boat ramp, just as the wind is beginning to pick up. TFTC and series, team737.#2073
I have been wanting to this kayak cache series since it first got published. But my sister who lives so close at Teralba no longer has kayaks, so I had to bring one up from Sydney. Glad I did as it was a really nice paddle from the mouth of Cockle Creek on Lake Mac up to the weir, finding and signing 15 caches along the way, then paddling back down. FP for the Series. TFTC lee737
An excellent morning with Crash and B@W paddling this marvellously reclaimed creek. All containers were in excellent condition.SL TFTC
#7689Ventured north with @Purplepeopleater and @bella at waggy lured by the Cockle Creek series. Met up at the carpark and organised our car shuffle before hitting the water just before 9am with 2 yaks and a SUP. Excellent home made containers.Enjoyed the paddle and now time to head back to parking waypoint #4, although we weren't able to get the car quite as close as suggested which meant a bit of lugging was required. We had used up about 2 hours to this point, so still plenty of time for some other targets. Managed 30 finds before heading home.TFTC Samuel737
Found on 28/4 with mightyminions & 2pods. A glorious day for my first go at kayaking. Thanks for this cache series.
Up again for weekend work and as I was a little early found an entry point near the tail end for some select caches.Used the paddle board which gave me better height for some but harder to duck for others. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Yay! the top of our stretch, our turning point to head downstream - with wind and current - towards the mouth of Cockle Creek. Enjoying a fun day with Mighty Minions and Goldberry17. TFTC!
Out caching with 2pods and Goldberry17 today. Our turn around point before we started heading back to the start. the weather was brilliant, and the water was very smooth. we had lots of laughs, and I really enjoyed the day. the caches were all found with no problems and in good condition. Thanks for the cache Samuel737 tnln replaced as found sl
Decided to drag the canoe all the way to Newcastle so had to make good use of it! Did the cockle creek series and a nearby adventure lab today, not sure if the weather is good enough tomorrow. Good quality made for good fun!TFTC Wilbert67
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 13174.A day of paddling with Deni_f and Banj on Cockle Creek this morning. With the tide due to hit high at 8am we made an early start at 7. With two kayaks and one stand up paddle board we covered 11.7km in 3hours 59 minutes. Another great cache in the series, found without issue. I love the effort youve gone to with these containers. Thanks Samuel737 for the cache.
Find#1886After these caches were published I was very keen to get them with all of the different DT ratings. After Banj asked me, Today was the day. Came out with Big Matt also and had an absolutely glorious day finding these caches. I wish I had 15 favourite points as this was such a fun series to do. Matt had calculated that we paddled a little over 11km and a bit over 4hrs in total at a very casual pace Ill add. Thanks for a great series Team 737. Log and cache in good condition. A great day to be out on the water finding some geocaches. Joined today by Big Matt on a SUP and Deni F in a kayak that an extremely nice bloke borrowed for him to use. Finally we've made it to the last cache of the series, now to head back downstream finding the ones we'd missed. TFTC
Find No: 9194. Out for a great morning with Yella Belly & shaneo58 , thanks for the cache Team737!!
Found with Grub fred and Yella Belly. The last in this series apart from the challenge cache which I don't quite qualify yet, but I'm working on it. TFTC TEAM737
Launched the old "Yella Belly" today and as I am the Captain I picked up an unlikely crew in shanoe58 as Retriever of caches and Grub Fred as passenger (and secretary) to do the Cockle Creek caches. Well it was a fun trip up the river with nobody falling overboard. caches were well hidden but with keen eyes they were found. Thanks Team737 for the series.
What a fabulous afternoon to be out on the water!I found a new-to-me launch point for quick access to the 2nd half of this series, starting in the late hours today from Ridley St @ Lyons Cl.I paddled to this last stop, and found myself a bit nostalgic (!!), sad to be here at the end of the line. I look forward to one day perhaps, when the series extends down to the weir I paddled on a bit further. turned the corner and had a look down that way, and then came back to find and sign this cache. An easy find after all the practice downstream.I had to laugh about the comment quite obvious once nearby . How about itll be in the last place that you look TFTH and for the whole series! Thank goodness I still have a few more of them to find!
At last, just on two hours after I set off upstream from the launch point near the railway bridge, I reached the end of the trail. I was hoping this was going to be an easy one, as my water was getting low and I was starting to get hungry, but inspecting the nearby trunks revealed nothing. Finally I looked around and saw it hanging on a branch nowhere near the trunk, duh! With the log signed and put back, I turned the kayak around and began my paddle back, still undecided whether I'd have enough energy (and water) left to attempt #5 before going ashore. Thanks for the hide and the series, I'll be back another day to do the remaining ones downstream of the bridge.
