Logs
Enabling this geocache, although, sadly its not quite the same as the previous Ironman geocache that once was here. There is a photo of the previous Ironman within the geocache to show what has been muggled. Onwards and upwards in true Geocaching Style
So sad to think that someone needs to take this geocache, spoiling the game for others.Unfortunately we have to disable this until we create something else for this one.
Ironman is still here surveying the area and keeping everyone safe.Spending a couple of nights in Busselton after a busy WAGB in Augusta, having a quiet caching day just mopping up some local caches.TFTC pood this is find #17842 for us.
I came over to WA last year for WAGB 23 and had such a great time so I decided to come back over again for this years events in Augusta. So after all of the planning with dates worked out my work decided that I could only have one week off so flying over was my only option. So I flew into to Perth and my first stop will be Busselton for 2 nights. It has been 47 years since I was in this part of WA and Im really looking forward to the re visit.Im making my way down the coast and picking out caches that look interesting to me.After spending a bit of time in Bunbury it was back to the Geo Rent a Car to continue along the coast and I have made it to Busselton.I checked in to my accomadation and now to find some caches around town before tea.I will admit that I walked past this one a few times before I eventually spotted it.Soon added my name to the log. Thanks pood TFTC.
This cache has the honour of being our fourth and last geocache find for the day. The day started with a maintenance run to fix a cache that had fallen so far as to be practically irretrievable (at least we lack the tools to do so). This was rectified with a new cache hidden ever so close, but more accessible. The lunch was to be had at a nice bakery in Cowaramup. Followed by other geocaching oriented activities. When it was time we looked towards a few find.We had three finds out of three and would be happy with four from four. The drive to this one was short, only a few blocks from the previous. That was the easier bit. The cache itself took us a little while to spot. When we did it was a pleasant surprise. The log itself presented little, but not insurmountable, challenge. With our marked writ upon the log, and the cache as we found it, we headed off - we did pass a Bunnings on the way in .To pood we extend thanks for the experience of this cache.
Out and about again, headed down to Augusta via Bunbury and Busselton. As I am not going to be down for WAGB24 so I headed down a few weeks early - a lot already there and didnt really make a dent in the caches, and I guess more to come. This is 16208.Thanks to pood for the caches I have found.
Out and about exploring Busselton and its surrounds despite the weather doing its best to wash me away. Glad to see Iron Man out and about protecting us.
What a huge few days! What an adventure! We almost became Gilligans Island, we braved the rain and wind as well as the bitter cold but boy I have loved every moment. Love these get aways with geobuddys lots of laughs and a good work out for me. Ive had a blast doing the assortment of caches down south here. Many thanks to the COs for the work you have put into maintaining and placing these hides. Its so beautiful down here I love it! Catching up on my logs apologies for the delay. I love your stories! I know who your Iron Man is *wink!
Heading home after a very early morning event. Im sure my route isnt the fastest way, but it does get me a few smilies on the way . Its beautiful down here and very fresh after all the rain .Some logs signed as N20 This is my 13810 find Thankyou poodfor placing and maintaining this cache for others to find .
A Big couple of days down in Augusta cleaning up all of the stuff published over the last year or so in preparation for the WAGB event. We got out on the boat cleaning up the Blackwood river caches and a number of small series of caches aswell as hosting a couple of events in town. Thanks to the local COs for a great mid-week explore. We had a blast.
Down in Augusta for a great midweek getaway. Caching with like minded people and enjoying the local pub after some hard days Geocaching. The weather was less than ideal with Augusta living up to the 4 seasons in one day motto. That being said it was great fun and I would do it all over again. Just maybe in a little bigger boat! Anyway I will be back for WAGB and collect whatever I have missed then! Thanks to the local and some not so local COs for the caches places down here to keep me coming back.
After noticing the DNF log today, we thought wed check it out to see if we needed to do any maintenance. But theres no worries with this geocache, the Ironman Geocache is still there, flying high, ready for action.
Yes picked the wrong morning as triathlon was on roads blocked off so we walked and so glad as it was a ftf for us
