After getting up a stupid o'clock to attend an Event then off to Maccas with a group of fellow cachers there were more suburban caches to find.I need CITOs in others States as I hadn't been out of Queensland before, just a quick trip to retrieve my son when his car broke down. There wasn't much rubbish but ever bit helps. TFTCITO

Visiting Canberra from Qld to attend Geobash 2024, it was a very early start today with an event and then all day geocaching, we have made our way to this CITO to see many people already picking up rubbish. We ventured closer to the Basketball courts and found some around there. Happy to help clean up the area.Even some banana benders attended!!Thanks pantspeople for hosting this event.

A well attended CITO in a fairly litter free area. We spent our time picking up small pieces of rubbish that looked like it had been through a shredded. Great to catch up with a few friends. Thanks pantspeople for organising this event. Love your outfit:)

#19511 - 6:00:00 PM; Last day of the Easter Geobash weekend. The day started with a group activity watching social Climber do what he does so well. Climb! Next it was off to revisit an old nemesis cache with Sol de lune and feathertop in Watson, followed by an attempt to avenge a recent DNF. Once that was achieved, Sdl and I headed southside for a few more finds before we went our separate ways after a successful caching long weekend. I wasn't originally planning to attend this CITO, but happy I was able to at the last minute. Met up with Tassie Trekkers in the carpark and collected our contributions to the group effort as we gradually made our way across to the posted coords to sign the log. TFTC pantspeople Smile

We spent nearly an hour collecting rubbish and socialising, until it was time to head home. Well done to pantspeople for starting and continuing this series of CITOs for the benefit of Canberra and people's stats SmileSee you at the next one.

Geobash Easter Mega - Day #5 (Easter Monday 1/4)For day five of my trip, I decided on power trailing my way to and from my third and final (pre-booked) tour at the Deep Space Tracking Station. This makes my four tours total. The power was a mixture of two joined into one. The two main PTs were, Beautiful View PT and the Drive Trip PT. There were also a couple of others along the way which needed to be added to the mix to break it up a little. It was great fun but very hard going as not all of them were at GZ given on the cache page or were in prickly bushes. Many battle scars were earned but it certainly was fun though. Once at the Deep Space Tracking Station it was a great tour. I learnt lots and got to the radio telescopes up close. I also got to find the caches around the area before heading off. After leaving, I power tailed my way back via the other way to get back to Canberra and then had a very late lunch. After that, I headed off to the CITO to finish the day off. TB visit. If the cache wasnt signed as JohnoMawbs, it was signed as JM or as the tour group name. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. Big Grin TFTEs & TFTCs Big GrinWhat a great way to end the day. A nice easy going clean up for this sporting ground and great chats with everyone. Thanks for hosting. Now to go and get some dinner. After spending most of today signing a large selection of the UGC Challenges with Wollaston and HansandLinda, we eventually headed here to do our bit to Keep Australia Beautiful. Having traveled in a number of European countries where rubbish bins must be rare beasts, I'm quite keen on keeping our country looking good. Thanks for find #6050TNLN

Thank you for organising this CITO. I managed to find the motherload of chips packets near the basketball courts. My banana item (Banana Travelbug, no less) could not compete with some of the other iterations. *Attended with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

Attended as part of the GeoBash mega event. There were so many people, it was hard to find a car park, so I had to park right across the field where someone was doing some drumming Smile So many people meant lots of rubbish collected!

Attended Capital Geobash CITO during the Capital GeoBash mega event in Canberra over the Easter weekend. Thanks for organising the event pantspeople!

01-Apr-24
Well it is Canberra Geobash Mega time and Im spending 6 nights up here on the Mega site and also the ACT has put on some brilliant weather for us so far during the day.Well it is day 4 for me and after a very fresh and chilly start to the morning for an event this CITO was at a more reasonable time of the day.So after plenty of caching through out the day I arrived at the playing fields and there was soon a very large gathering of cachers willing to do their bit to help clean up this area.A reasonable amount of rubbish was picked up and I think it is now time for tea and maybe an early night. Thanks pantspeople TFTCC.

01-Apr-24
I attended this CITO while in Canberra over Easter for the Capital Geobash. I picked up some rubbish, found a couple of caches, chatted to some folk and saw a man wearing a banana skin - well at least I think that's what it was. Thanks pantspeople for organising the CITO.

Canberra Geobash Mega Easter weekend Day 5. After a fun start to the day with a tree cache, there was the final clean up at the Canberra Park Mega side to be done, before having a chance for a rest in the afternoon before heading out to join in the CITO at Harrison. A huge turnout and lots of rubbish collected, and even a banana or two spotted. I foresee a but of recovery time over the next week, but I can't wait for the next group caching opportunities in the future. 01-Apr-24
Attended with hevwalker. On our way back from getting a cache we found someone who had a bag and worked together to find as much rubbish as we could. The area was definitely cleaner by the time we had all finished collecting. Caught up with cachers we had not even known had been at the Mega for about the same time as we had. Joined some friends for a meal at Wok it up, fantastic food. TFTCITO

The final hurrah of the Capital Geobash! Huge kudos to pantspeople for stepping up and hosting this CITO, amazing turnout with 100+ attendees, and many interstate travellers who probably would of been quite disappointed if it was their first visit & missed this icon, so a great idea and initiative! The location was well chosen, not too far from the mega site but plenty of parking for attendees and rubbish to pick up! I turned up a little bit late, as I actually had to work today and went home first to change clothes. Still managed to find a couple things to pick-up in the carpark of all places...! Oh and I even snagged a park in the main carpark as another attendee was nicking off early! Chatted to a few other attendees and marvelled at the funny banana themed costumes in attendance (nice to see your usual theme make an appearance), before I headed off to bed as I was completely exhausted! We were more than happy to come and lend a hand. There was quite a bit of rubbish collected and lots of people to do the job. Thanks for organising.

01-Apr-24
I didn't think that this group would find as much rubbish as they did. Surprising how much there was. Thank you for organising this and getting so many of us together to help clean up.

01-Apr-24
The last event for the 2024 Geobash Mega event. Its been a busy week with friends visiting for this event plus lots of driving to see family. Ensured we attended this event as KBKL and SixPak69 had only attended 1 CITO in their caching careers. Arrived to a busy and chatty group of people. We grabbed our plastic bags and headed off to fill them. Met up with the FurfacesLL ladies also and we all returned with some interesting items (a cricket ball, a soccor ball, 2 golf balls, a tennis ball, a fleecy jumper pulled from the pond, and umbrella and some snow gloves). Thanks for hosting the CITO pantspeople, was surprised at how much rubbish was obtained in this clean up.

01-Apr-24
We arrived to find lots of attendees already in full swing. We wondered which was correct - 5pm from the communications, or 5:30 as per cache page.Anyhoo, we managed to fill a bag before joining the rest of the crew for a quick chat. Thanks for organising and hosting this event, pantspeople ??

01-Apr-24
Theres nothing better than attending a CITO to complete a Mega event. Its a good way to let the general public that geocachers care for the environment and contribute to the community. Thanks for running this event today.

01-Apr-24
Attended this event with my dad Marcus Vitruvius. Had lots of fun and the Easter Egg hunt was the best. Did lots of climbing in trees over the weekend. Thankyou.

Had a great time over the weekend TFTC

01-Apr-24
We got here earlier than expected and the cleanup was already in full swing. We did what we could and then headed off. Thanks for hosting the event!

01-Apr-24
Always enjoy a CITO, we arrived a little early as we had to drop Gcoven off at the airport for her flight home shortly after the time this would finish. Even arriving early there were a number of cachers already out and about with their bags and a small pile of collected rubbish at the bins. We managed to make a small cleaning contribution to the area, despite it looking clean. Signed the log book and after a couple of quick catche up chats it was time for us to go. Did some off the cuff CITOing over the following few days as I continued to cache around Canberra. I admire your commitment to cleaning up the region with the regular CITOs.

01-Apr-24
scramping & I are visiting Canberra to attend the Capital Geobash Mega event. This was a CITO, so yep, I picked up rubbish and placed it into someone else's bag.It is good to give back to the environment and clean up the game board that we use for our addictive hobby. Thanks pantspeople for hosting the CITO Smile

Signed as GPORK.The day was almost over but not before the CITO for the event. Lots of people and lots of rubbish collected. 18:07April Fools/Easter Monday...This was the main reason for staying in Canberra beyond last night. I'm always up for a chance to pay it forward, and the opportunity to participate in my first interstate CITO was too compelling. While the area immediately around the site had already been picked clean, there was still more rubbish to collect on the perimeter. Thanks, pantspeople, and everyone that helped clean up. We amassed a good pile and had fun making this place that much better.#8701

01-Apr-24
Nice to add a CITO, even though the place was pretty clean already

Day 7 of our Capital Geobash mega-holiday. And for the first day since we arrived, there were no events or tours to rush off to, so we had a leisurely day to ourselves. We chose to return to the Parliamentary Precinct to complete caches and labs that we didn't have time to do earlier in the week, taking advantage of the easier access and parking due to the Easter Monday public holiday. Afterwards we made a quick visit to the Arboretum to show Chunk the highlights that Chook had discovered when she was in Canberra last year, before it was time to head off to this CITO.When we arrived, there was not a lot of rubbish in the nearby vicinity, but it didn't take long to locate the motherload along the edge of the grounds. We easily filled a bag chocker block full, found a couple of caches in our travels and returned to say a quick hello to others before heading off to tea. Thank you for hosting this CITO pantspeople.
