Back to Parramatta for a work meeting and a late flight and a late arrival. Time for one cache this evening - this one was out of action last visit. I assume the trans are now finally working - might go for a ride in the morning.A quick find here after ignoring the phone.TFTC gavingo4
Gotcha! TFTC Found with the Geohusband @Nosmada on a late night ice cream run.
Mrs Gaztek had a thrilling DNF here a few weeks ago when she was checking out the nearby phone booth and was bailed up by the cops. Eeek! Today, armed with some info from previous logs, we parked around the corner on our way to the Sydney Kings basketball game and nabbed this in-your-face container. Nice and quiet on a Sunday afternoon. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
I followed the signal for no result. Reading all of the logs at home revealed it was on the other side of the street!!!
It was a DNF for me early on a Wednesday morning. I had a training day at work and started a bit later than usual so had my eye on walking by here for a quick find. I located a likely looking spot and felt around then looked down and under. "Can we help you?" I heard from behind me. And, yes, after 15 years of geocaching I was finally bailed up by the police!! Two young constables. I confessed immediately. Fortunately one of them had geocaching experience. So they spent a short time looking with me but I felt it was time to get to work before I was issued with an official Move On Direction! I may not have been looking in the right spot but will watch with interest for the next finder. Cheers.... Gaztek
Love caches that are in plain view (if you know). All these people completely oblivious to these types of caches.TFTH
back to finish the wonder around the green space virtualtook a different street from the train today to collect this onewas nice and quiet with was good as took a while for the gps to settle
Thanks gavingo4 for replacing and keeping this cache for more geocachers to enjoy. Another day ticked off. 2.5 weeks left to complete my personal geochallenge of unbroken 366 leap year days. Be nice to end that streak soon.
After considering my options here, including different types of containers, the original style of container was opted with, the container had been sitting in my car for weeks, and everytime I've driven to Parramatta (multiple times a week), I've forgetting to get it out, replaced now.
I've been informed that this one has been muggled, I will check and consider my options when I visit the office again.
Have seen this cache more than a few times, just holding off for a lazy day. And guess what? Its not there when I decided to grab a smiley. Informed the CO afterwards. Not in a rush myself
Found with ziggiau while exploring Parramatta. At GZ, the clever camo was spotted in plain sight, which blended in well. TFTC
Spent the afternoon wandering around the Parrramatta CBD checking out the new developments and light rail. Made a quick find.SL TFTC
Had time to kill between an escape room and and tapas dinner perfect cache to target! Quick find at gz by geoson. Tftc
Easy find! Came to parramatta for a sports game and loved to see there were caches in the area. Very cool and clever hide. Unfortunately I never bought a pen so I didnt get to sign.
No sign of it where the GPS said was GZ. Past logs gave me the good oil and once I got to the actual GZ all was immediately obvious (to a geocacher), but.... I travelled to this "North Island" from the southernmost state, lodged my bags at the hotel and promptly left without grabbing a pen. The Dollar Shop across the road provided the necessary implement, log signed, cache replaced as found and on to the next one! Thanks for the hide!
Easy find of my favourite ever type of hide! Like other previous logs I found this on the other side of the road; was able to pop inside to Good Games (while they processed my order of Magic Singles) to borrow a pen; signed the cache and replaced as found; TFTC!
OCW me, myself, find #316 @11.56am, hard to remove from wall, co-ords out by 8-10m. Found other side of street. SLRC as found.
#14050 13:55A quick find today after finding a 15 minutes free parking just around the corner. The cache was about 10 meter from the published coordinate on the other side of the road.TFTC gavingo4.
The GPS wanted me on the east side of the street, I found it on the west side, in plain sight, zap! Thanks
Still waiting for the trains to arrive, but the cache was easily spotted. A muggle sitting on a nearby bench seemed a bit interested in what we were doing, but it didn't stop us from doing what we had to do.
Like others, struggled with the gps. Expanded our search and spotted what we were after. Tftc.
Luckily the hide was obvious to an experienced cacher as the coverage here is terrible. TFTC.
So glad I had seen one of these before as it stood out for me. GPS is indeed poor here as it also had me over the other side. Hidden in plain sight. Loved it! TFTC

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers gavingo4! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 6. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WA/WAC (WA Crew)
I don't know, the GPS was fine for me and I found the cache in 2 maybe 3 seconds at the most. You do have to be stealthy but shoe laces, dropped stuff and it's not a problem.Well Parramatta has certainly changed an enormous amount since I worked here. First issue is finding somewhere to park and none of it is free anymore, so I parked on the other side of the river and walked across a bridge then through the streets. That meant it was a fair distance to walk but exercise is good.I barely recognised the place. Where are all the historic buildings? Not all changes are for the better, much of the character of this suburb is gone. Such a shame. Hopefully when the light rail is completed it will all be spruced up.If the light rail goes where the planning map indicates it will be fantastic!TFTC # 5854
