A weird trip to Launceston today. Had a job to do for work which took 30 minutes and then it was caching and op shopping. The caching was poor. The op shopping was great. The caching ended up with 4 dnfs and 6 finds, and I am pretty sure those 4 are gone. Tftc
#20763 - 2:02:00 PM; In Launceston today for a business meeting and to pick up some supplies. The ladies headed into the shops, so I headed off to GZ where I managed a reasonably quick find and sign on this cache to wrap up the visit today. TFTC Ben_and_frankie
Today we further explored our back yard finding caches along the way, and this was one of them.We concentrated on finding the caches that have been published since our last visit. A quick find at GZ.We found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty. Many thanks to the CO for your cache placement.
A nice Sunday walk with the kids, had to lift them to spy this bright cache TFTC
It took me a while and I don't know why, it was exactly where it should have been. TFTC.
Back in tassie for a few days, had a few hours spare today so went around to find a few caches. A quick find here thanks to a great hint, cache is all goodThanks for the cache
Out for a ride around here and its the first on the day, third to find!TFTC Ben and frankie!!
TFTC. Sometimes not being FTF is beneficial and this is one of those occasions. Accurate coordinates lead to a quick find once at GZ, which is a good thing on a very warm and sunny day.
TFTC. Found with ShaniTemplar06 on a hot and sunny day. Well hidden and coordinates spot on. Did not remove log book as a spontaneous hunt meant we were unprepared with pens or rolling equipment.
Coordinates changed from:S 41 25.609 E 147 8.770Coordinates changed to:S 41 25.613 E 147 8.771Distance from original: 24.6 feet or 7.5 meters.Changed coordinates to more accurate, sorry for the inaccuracy (I had waited 5 minutes at the cache to get most accurate but it was not enough:(
Mr y'stassie had visited this location twice this week but did not have any success in finding the cache (see our DNF log for details). Today Mrs y'stassie, fresh from her trip to the MEGA in Adelaide, came along to see if she would have any success. On arrival, we noticed that the circus was packing up, having finished it's season in Launceston. She confirmed previous comments that the published coordinates were at an open grassed area, no where near a spot indicated in a hint. She expanded the search area, looking in places consistent with the hint but places that had not been that accessible to the other member of the team due to his reduced mobility at present. After about 20 minutes, Mrs y'stassie put her had in a particular location and felt something familiar - a common style of micro cache container. This was about 8m from the published coordinates. The cache and contents were in good condition. The logbook was blank - so we will claim {FTF} at 17:10. Before leaving, we took a number of readings of the coordinates and the average was S 41 25.613 E 147 08.771. Thanks Ben and Frankie for the cache.
This is the second occasion when we came to look for this cache. Again we did not have any success. The published coordinates took us to an open area no where near a location consistent with the hint. We searched up to 25m from the published coordinates in locations consistent with the hint but no joy. A check of the coordinates by the CO would be appreciated. Thanks anyway.
