Thanks YellowFoxes for the cache and the chance to geocache alongside the river today!! We visited family members in LowerHutt and Waikanae then afterwards decided to go for a walk and find some geocaches !Found with Tracy while enjoying a 4km walk in the area. Lucky to have a break in the muggles while finding this one. TNLNSL TFTC
#15,525. Parked for a short walk in Waikanae. The GZ was fortunately all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a short search. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*---### LET US HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!! ###On **May 3rd, 2025**, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in **Rotorua, New Zealand** with a special **Block Party** event. A nice quick find on a lovely day, enjoying a walk along the river and taking part in a cosmic quest, TFTC
(9905) After a dawn Happy New Year event I decided to make the most of a lovely day to go up the coast from Welly to grab some more caches. Today I decided to walk the "lap" of the park. A quick find was had. Thanks YellowFoxes for taking the time to place the cache and for bringing me here.
Short walk with woolwood9 today down by the river.SL *tm/ww NZ*Thanks, another good cache in a good location.Pretty sure there used to be a cache in this spot, archived a few years ago - a 1 litre Sistema at the base.

On a nice Sunday afternoon with nothing else planned, its fun to get out to look for a few caches at a pleasant out-of-town setting such at the Waikanae River area. Of course the geohound was more than happy to accompany me! And so off we set with the hope of picking up at least two or three. This cache would be the third YellowFoxes hide with a difficulty rating of 1.0 that Id attempted in two days. The first two had both taken me a little while to locate which had me questioning my own finding ability (yes, there are admittedly moments of ineptness!) or whether a rating level of 1.0 shouldnt be reserved for only those very, very easy hides, i.e. ones which most of us manage to find almost immediately! And so I headed to this one really hoping that it would be a quick find. Sadly I have to report that once again it wasnt. Maybe I was just having a bad day! I had a good look around GZ and even crossed the track to peer into the alternative lot of vegetation. Heading back to the original tree I eventually spotted something that gave the game away! Previous logs indicate that Im not the only one who has taken a little while to find this one. Having said that, I can quite believe that when approached from the correct angle, this could be a very quick find! On this occasion it wasnt for me. I'm becoming very wary of these YellowFoxes caches. They are well-constructed hides which, for whatever reason, I seem to make rather hard work of finding! Well see what happens with the next one(s). #7535. TFTC.
Visited , cache all good. Updated coordinates and hint to avoid approach from wrong side as it is supposed to be an easy find
Had some free time so a wee wander was in order. Very quiet on the walk today, only saw one muggle on a bike. Quick find. Thanks YellowFoxes
Maybe it was last nights solar storm but gps had us searching in the wrong place. Fast find once we widened the search.
Today was a day, and for reasons... I needed to get out and about and Geocaching was the answer. So I did just that. My decision was further reinforced by finding, amost several others, a cache that contained a bunch of motivational quotes. One was "Today I choose to be happy" which was definitely the focus of today. Here was one of the geocaches I found. When I spotted the hide location here I prepared myself for spending some time searching. Fortunately the hide here is a lot easier to see (from the right angle) than some of this type. All good here.---Thanks to YellowFoxes for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.
Spent today catching up on some recently published caches in the region after having been away for a while. A quick find here, more like chest height for me and I'm only average height. Signed log, TFTC
Don't normally like that type of cache, but this one was a nice and easy one. Thanks for placing it
Really should have been more on top of this than I was! Got it in the end. Tftc!
Out for what turned out to be a two hour walk today with the geo dog Southridge Laird of Kinlochaline (Lochie). On the way we stumbled across this cache. Nice hide. TFTC.
As I approached this cache site, my GPSr didn't point me directly to a certain feature but I was fairly certain that's where the cache would be. With the hint providing some helpful information, I was confident this should be a quick mission. The first problem was there were muggles coming from different directions; some moving very slowly. An opportunity to check notifications on my phone would have been taken if I had my phone with me so I just had to wait without looking too silly. When the coast was clear, I went about my work but did not see anything. After unconvincingly checking another nearby spot, I returned to immediately sight what I was after - in fact, it wasn't only the cache container that clearly could not be missed, but the means of attachment stood out in the same way. After having similar problems at another cache earlier this morning, it dawned on me what was going on. The cache owner has obviously come up with some invention that enables their caches to turn invisible (for maybe two minutes at a time) before being restored to full view - very clever.Circumstances mean that I am not going to be able to search for caches again until maybe the end of May so it was good to have my first experience of YellowFoxes caching this morning before my enforced break. There is a lot to like about what I have seen so far; both with the caches themselves and the descriptions provided. While I know this area reasonably well, it's always helpful to have parking location coordinates provided - something I appreciate when I am in other regions or countries. I look forward to searching for some more YF caches when I am able to get out and about again.
For some reason I thought I was going to encounter this on the north bank as I was heading east so I was a bit surprised to see the GPS pointing 60m across the river. Not a problem though because I have to get back over there because I'm parked over in Lancelot drive and this cache is on the way as my route was planned to do. I'd forgotten where the bridge is though having got over to the north side down at the expressway. It's not too far east of here and after not too long I was at the cache. As the GPS counted down from about 20m out it was clear whereabout the cache would be and after a quick reccy I was surprised to find the cache advertising its location is a not too sutble way. It's not too far back to the car from here and I really enjoyed today's walk exploring more of the river trails than I've ever had cause to do before. TFTC.
I spent an enjoyable hour walking some of the trail this afternoon. No problems making the find here. TFTC
I parked up in Lancelot Drive at first light this morning and spent an enjoyable hour checking out the four new caches on this side of the river. This was my last stop before heading back across the sports fields to the car, and was the most straightforward find of the four. Thanks very much for the cache.
{FTF} Jointly with Flowerydaze. After completing another cache by this CO we had returned home and decided on a cup of coffee but no sooner had the jug boiled, another cache came up so out the door we went again, leaving the coffee to "cool".We certainly made a meal of this one looking in the wrong place then discussing with a passing muggle some insect life that may be taking up residence in the tree and whether it could kill it or not. Once she was out of the way Flowerydaze returned to the original spot and soon let out that well known cachers phrase....HERE IT IS !.... well how did we miss this for a start. I think the coords may be a bit out by a couple of metres to the s/west, but nothing really considering a 10 metre accuracy level on a phoneWell done YellowFoxes nice hide and all is well
A lovely day for a stroll along the river, with new caches to fossick out. Was a bit off the mark to start, but recovered and was able to make the find. Great to see some new caches being placed in the area, keep up the good work!
{FTF} with Talla64 at 10.34 am. Oh my goodness, that was an embarrassing excursion in more ways than one! Flushed with success at being FTF at another cache of YellowFoxes, I sat at the PC typing up my log, when "ping" went my phone. Let's go Talla; so off we went. Parked the car, got very wet feet walking across the sports field, over the style and to GZ. I was convinced it was in this spot here, Talla was convinced it was in that spot over there. We searched both spots for 10 minutes. A muggle approached and asked if we were photographing insects (I was using C:Geo on my phone), I foolishly said yes. She advanced closer - "are there a lot", Talla made a very good non-committal mumble sound. She advanced closer - "will they kill the tree?" We said "no" in unison, and drew back and wandered away a bit. She continued on her walk.We searched (in the wrong place) for several more minutes. I returned to my first spot, and the cache just about shouted at me "here I am." Perhaps a visit to Specsavers is in order, for both of us. Thanks for the fun YellowFoxes. We definitely overthought this one.
