Thank you for the cache! Bit of a walk after early dinner and spotted this quickly. The town is quiet already so could log it in peace. Soon for sunset to the beach
I'm doing a 3-week bucket list road trip around South Island, and after crossing the Alps to the West Coast yesterday, ending up in Punakaiki overnight, I'm now heading south.Stopped in Hokatiki to see the sights and to do the ALs here. This was a quick find at one of the waypoints. Thanks go to Gracie7 + mum for the cache.
Visiting from US. Touring with Gate1 travel. Todays itinerary had us overnighting in Franz Josef then heading on to Queenstown. Unfortunately there is an issue with the road so this will be our last stop today before returning to Christchurch tonight. I enjoyed our short stay. Found this cache, shopped for local items, had a whitebait fritter for lunch. Log signed. Replaced as found. Thanks for the opportunity to cache here.
After a check to how the weather would be, it was off on a 3 day trip to the West Coast, weather tunred out to be great , and a lot of great caches found-, Many thanks to all the caches placers Bitsprayer
A milestone birthday for MrTG last month & the family booked a short labour weekend family getaway in Hokitika. It just happened to coincide with a monumental Spring weather event. With Arthurs Pass shut with snow, we had to head north out of Christchurch and through the Lewis Pass to loop back around and down to Hokitika......in torrential rain. Fun driving, not much stopping! After settling in to our Air BnB, having some tea, wee came out for a dizzley evening walk. Ocean was epic, even in he dark! A quick find here, thanks...I even remember vaguely finding the original. Thanks!
Armed with jandals and a chilly bin, a couple of Aussies headed across the ditch for a 3-week tiki tour, exploring the beauty of New Zealand.DAY 8: Exploring the West Coast to Haast. An impromptu stop to find this cache. Thanks for showing us this special place by placing this cache, gracie7 + Mum ?? tena koe~??????????~
#3917 Today is day 12 of my geocaching vacation in New Zealand. I'm visiting Monteith's Brewery in Greymouth and Hokitika Gorge.Found it real quick after dinner and before the pouring rain. gracie7 + Mum, thank you for the cache!-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan on October 12, 2024 @ 19:37:02[GCAM8NY] Statue of Summer (Hokitika, West Coast) was a D1.5/T1.5 Small Traditional Cache at the time of finding.
Enjoying a weekend in westcoast. Cache was found with help of hint. All good here. TFTC
Parked across the road with my bus - an American group at the Jade factory- hmm why not collect a cache - TFTC
Like the previous finder I found the container completely full of water and the log book a soaked mess. Replaced with a new book and back after draining out the water. I also put a stone in the container and replaced it upside down in the hope it'll keep the new log away from any water that may get in again. Thanks for placing gracie7 + Mum#17005
Found this morning, on my way out of town. Tipped out the water, but log book is soaked through. TFTC
Found it Alas the logbook was sodden! Managed to sign wet paper on random page as I couldnt turn them!TFTC:)
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 2 of our Matariki 2024 West Coast trip. Today we are doing a day trip from Greymouth down to Hokitika and Ross. The weather forecast is for showers in the afternoon, so we are keen to get in as much geocaching as we can beforehand. All quiet here on a public holiday and SW soon had the cache in hand. The Renga Renga lilies look very healthy, obviously frost free here as mine back in frosty Chch are looking rather sad. We found the previous cache here about 4 years ago, so good to have another to find. TFTC.
#23938. All quiet at GZ, and a quick find. Then it was off down the road to look for a bite to eat for an early lunch (it was about 1130). TFTC.
After a mammoth few days of puzzle solving it came down to traveling down to the Coast and start finding caches. The trip down yesterday yielded four finds and the balance of the confused duckies were herded today. How could we not look for this cache while in the area? The restoration of the building came up fantastic and the statue looks wonderful. Thank you gracie7 + Mum
We had found the new Confused Duckies north of Greymouth on the way down from the Top of the South yesterday so today we thought we would take advantage of the fine weather and head a bit further south to find the rest of them plus this newly published traditional. The container was full of water but the log book was perfectly dry still so we drained and dried it before replacing after signing the log.Thank you gracie7 + Mum.
Sorry couldnt sign as I have lost my pen. I would have been the first in the new logbook.
Thanks for a nice and easy cache. What a shame I have lost my pen. I would have been the first to find and sign.
